Chapter 262: Me, the Legal Awareness Ambassador, This Feels Amazing
Lin Yibai took it very seriously.
Compared to online influencers or public figures who film short videos, which people might forget after a week or two, printed legal education booklets and posters have a big advantage. They create a positive image that lasts a long time.
In the future, no matter what she does, if she throws one of those booklets with her face on it in front of someone, who knows how different the result might be?
If she applies to a big company later…
And casually shows them one of those cool posters? What company wouldn’t want a good-looking employee with such strong presence?
You could say, the future looks bright.
The photo shoot wasn’t as easy as it sounded. To make sure every picture showed her in the best way possible, Lin Yibai had to repeat the same pose or action hundreds of times until it looked just right.
Straighten your posture, puff out your chest.
And she had to follow every instruction carefully.
The photographer, getting tired himself, finally asked, “How are you feeling? Want to take a break?”
Lin Yibai shyly replied, “A short break sounds nice.”
Everyone found a place to sit down, and Lin Yibai finally let out a long sigh of relief.
She was dressed in a custom policewoman uniform for the shoot.
And honestly, even just for that outfit, she felt all the hard work was worth it.
During the break, one of the staff smiled and said, “Student Baiyi, you’re really something. If you hadn’t taken a break just now, I might’ve been the one to give up first!”
Is being hardworking a good quality? Maybe, probably?
But in today’s high-pressure society, not many young people talk about that anymore.
Lin Yibai didn’t want to label herself like that either. So she just smiled and changed the topic, “I just really want to see the posters and booklets when they’re done!”
The staff member laughed and said, “If everything goes smoothly, your face will be on all of them.”
Lin Yibai smiled, “That’s why I’m even more excited now. I hope I can get a copy before Chinese New Year, I want to show it to my parents. Then they’ll know college wasn’t a waste!”
Everyone burst out laughing and promised, “Don’t worry! Just give us your address, we’ll send you a copy as soon as it’s printed.”
Lin Yibai: “Thank you!”
With her kind and honest nature, it seemed like Lin Yibai could get along with people no matter where she went.
Especially with a few of the staff who had also studied for the civil service exams. Once they found out Lin Yibai planned to take the exam too, they eagerly started giving her tips, treating her like a little sister from the neighborhood.
Some of the staff even started jokingly “breaking the law” themselves, trying to recruit her into their department.
“Student Baiyi, I believe in you! Why not apply to our police department? We’re always short on people! You’re going to take the exam anyway, why not just apply for our district? You’ve got nothing to lose!”
Another one chimed in, “Yeah! Just apply to our district. The entry requirements are low, not many limits on majors, and the benefits are good. Sounds fair, right?”
Wow. Lin Yibai couldn’t help saying, “You guys are really something!”
If she hadn’t already done her research and known about these job positions, she might have actually believed what they said. Or thinking about it the other way, if the job was really that great, then why would they still be so short on staff?
So, how to describe the police system?
Well, at the basic entry level, there really aren’t many restrictions. In fact, it’s one of the easiest government positions to apply for in terms of requirements.
Fun fact, if you’re confident in your physical and mental strength, but your major doesn’t match many exam jobs, you should check out police positions, many of them don’t care what major you studied.
Of course… it’s still a tough job.
Lin Yibai just smiled and said, “Thanks! I’ll think about it~”
In the afternoon, the team took many more photos.
They said they would choose a few that best fit the theme of legal education, and use those in the posters and booklets.
And they were honest about everything.
They had mentioned earlier that there would be payment, and explained, “The money might not be much, and it might not arrive right away, since we still need to go through some approval steps. But don’t worry, we won’t delay your payment.”
Lin Yibai waved her hand and said, “It’s okay, don’t say it like that. You already said this is for helping the people, I’m happy to do it! I don’t even mind not getting paid, I just hope you use more of my photos, hehe.”
They replied, “Great working with you.”
Lin Yibai smiled, “Great working with you too!”
At the same time, another photo team had also finished their shoot. But unlike Lin Yibai’s happy team, the mood over there was awkward and a bit tense.
The internet influencer, “Miss Xiao Li,” had already left.
So when the team from that side walked over, they couldn’t help complaining, “I really don’t get it, it’s just a short video about legal knowledge and safety. Why did Director Lin insist on using that Xiao Li girl?”
Someone from Lin Yibai’s group was curious and asked, “I mean, it’s just a short video, right? Why are you guys so upset?”
The other person got even more annoyed and said, “What do you mean we’re upset? Have you ever seen someone film a legal promotion video and insist on live streaming it at the same time? This is an official place, how could we let her stream here?”
Lin Yibai’s team member said, “Then just tell her no. Rules are rules, you can’t break them.”
The other team sighed and said, “We did stop her, but that Xiao Li girl got mad. She said we didn’t respect her and now she’s saying she won’t come back tomorrow. Now we don’t know what to do!”
Someone from Lin Yibai’s side burst out laughing, “Hahaha!”
The other team stared and asked, “What are you laughing at? Did you guys already finish filming? I heard your model is just a young college girl. Sure, she’s pretty, but can she really represent legal education in a serious way?”
That made Lin Yibai’s team a little unhappy. Right away, they showed some of the photos they had already taken.
First of all, yes, Lin Yibai was very pretty. Normally, people that pretty tend to look either cute or charming, which doesn’t always match serious or formal campaigns.
But Lin Yibai’s special charm was different.
She had the boldness and determination usually seen in boys. Because of that, she could perfectly show strength, righteousness, and seriousness.
When the other team saw the photos, they were shocked and said, “No way… She’s that pretty, and still looks like a symbol of justice? When she wears the police uniform for the photos, I really feel like she’s the face of the law.”
Ahem. Cough, cough~
Hey, hey, hey, you guys are talking about me a bit too much, don’t you think?
Lin Yibai thought to herself, ‘I’m still right here, you know!’
But things seemed to be wrapping up on her side, so she said goodbye, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll head out now! If you need more photos later, just call me.”
And with that, she walked away.
Little did she know…
The other team was actually feeling a bit jealous.
They were envious. After all, both teams were doing the same kind of promotional work, but one got to work with a great girl like Lin Yibai, while they were stuck with a difficult influencer.
“Hey man, what if I just use Photoshop to cut her photo and make Lin Baiyi the star of our promo video too?”
“You’re going to do what? Get outta here!”
“What did you say?”
“I said get lost! The girl is part of our team. Until this project is fully done, no one is stealing her!”
“So unfair…”
Meanwhile, Lin Yibai was happily daydreaming, imagining herself holding those legal education booklets and showing off a little, feeling proud and confident.
She had no idea…
She had already become the most wanted person in the whole promotion team.
