Chapter 282: Don’t Look at Me Like That, I’m Not Done with You Yet

Xia Changyu didn't know what was happening, but he felt his girlfriend's "room" becoming tighter, which made him even more content.

The first round was sweet.

The second? Intense.

By the third one, he seriously started wondering if she’d come for love or to drain the last drop of life out of him.

And Lin Yibai? She was getting prettier by the day. Skin smooth, lips soft, eyes bright. Like spring water flowing endlessly. The more Xia Changyu withered, the more radiant she seemed.

It wasn’t fair.

“Again?” he muttered one evening, lying on the bed like a dried fish. “Baiyi, mercy…”

She turned her head slowly, a smile playing on her lips.

“Hmm? I didn’t say anything yet.”

“You didn’t need to,” Xia Changyu said, clutching the blanket like it was his last lifeline. “I saw you stretch. That’s your warm-up sign.”

Lin Yibai leaned over, one hand brushing back her hair. “Isn’t this what you wanted? Wasn’t it you who said we should make the most of our youth?”

“I was wrong,” he whispered. “Youth has limits…”

She climbed onto the bed with the grace of a cat, tilting his chin up with one finger. “Don’t look at me like that, I’m not done with you yet.”

Xia Changyu didn’t know if he should laugh or cry. “At this point, I don’t even know who’s the man anymore.”

“Oh?” She raised an eyebrow. “If you don’t want to be the man, I’m happy to take over.”

He covered his face in shame. “…I said nothing.”

That night, again, the stars witnessed a long battle.

By the time morning light slipped through the curtains, Lin Yibai was already up and stretching, as if the night had only recharged her. She even hummed as she walked barefoot across the floor, hair tousled, cheeks still faintly flushed from warmth and sleep.

In bed, Xia Changyu was buried under a blanket, his body motionless except for the rise and fall of his chest. He was too tired to move.

She glanced over. “Still alive?”

A muffled grunt answered from beneath the covers.

Lin Yibai pulled open the curtains, letting the winter sun flood the room.

“Get up. If you sleep all day, your muscles will turn to jelly.”

“My muscles already feel like jelly,” Xia Changyu groaned.

She laughed, coming over to sit at the edge of the bed. “Poor thing. You really aren’t built for endurance, huh?”

He peeked out from under the blanket, expression hollow. “...I was. Before you.”

She patted his head like he was some obedient puppy. “Don’t blame me. I gave you time to rest.”

“Ten minutes isn’t rest.”

“Oh? I thought you liked fast-paced lifestyles.”

Xia Changyu’s gaze shifted from exhaustion to what could only be described as a look of complete and utter defeat.

“This is not fast-paced. This is warfare.”

Lin Yibai smiled, eyes narrowing slightly. “So what now, General Xia? You giving up the fight?”

“…Requesting leave.”

“No can do. You still owe me for skipping the other night.”

He buried his head back into the pillow with a groan. “God help me.”

Lin Yibai laughed softly, then looked at him more seriously for a moment. She played with a loose thread on the blanket, and asked quietly, "Hey… I’m going back to my hometown. Are you going to be okay?"

Xia Changyu blinked. "Oh... yeah, don't worry. You should go visit your parents. They must miss you."

His voice sounded a little forced, as if he was trying to convince himself more than her.

She tilted her head slightly. “You don’t sound happy.”

“I mean…” He rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly awkward. “I just got used to you being here. It’s gonna feel weird without you.”

She raised an eyebrow, her lips curving upward in a teasing smile. “Only weird?”

Xia Changyu sighed. “Okay, very weird. Cold. Lonely. Quiet. Also, I might die without supervision.”

She chuckled, reaching over to ruffle his hair. “It’s just a few days. I haven’t seen my parents for a long time. They’ll kill me if I don’t show up with some gifts and good grades.”

Xia Changyu let out a dramatic sigh. “Fine, fine, go ahead. I guess I’ll survive.”

Lin Yibai grinned. “You’ll be fine. It's not like we can't video call later..”

Xia Changyu: “But do you really not need me to come with you?”

Lin Yibai: “I get it. I'll talk to my parents first before introducing you. I don't want to give them a shock.”

Xia Changyu: “I won’t shock my parents-in-law, I’ll prove myself.”

Lin Yibai glanced at him, her eyebrows raised at the way he casually referred to her parents as his "parent-in-law." She shook her head, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

“It’s not about you, it’s about me. Let me explain... think of it like this, imagine meeting someone you haven’t seen in years. It’s not going to be smooth right away. There’ll be a bit of adjustment, you know?”

She paused, making sure he understood. “So don’t worry, okay? I’ll introduce you to my parents, but I need to prepare them a bit first. It’s not just about proving anything, it’s about making sure it feels right for everyone.”

Xia Changyu: “Alright then, oh by the way, would you like to visit my hometown and meet my parents when you have some free time later?”

Lin Yibai: “Sure.”

She stood up and stretched again, arms above her head, back arching slightly. “I’m going to make breakfast. You better be ready, or I’m dragging you there myself.”

“Can I rest after breakfast?”

“You can rest during breakfast. But tonight…” She glanced over her shoulder with a smirk. “Don’t make me repeat myself.”

Xia Changyu lay there for a moment, staring up at the ceiling as if seeking some kind of divine intervention.

The silence stretched, and then he sighed deeply, a long, dramatic exhale that carried the weight of resignation.

"Oh god, please give me power to punish that little demon."
