Chapter 228: Still Have to Keep Learning
During the break between classes, Lin Muqing went to get some water, then came back and continued with the lessons.
About Meng Wenwu, Ye Ziming told her to just ignore him. He said that if anything happened, he would take care of it. After hearing that, Lin Muqing didn’t say anything more and went on with her day like usual.
But what surprised her was that after the second class, the homeroom teacher suddenly called her to the office.
“Lin Muqing, you’re the student I trust the most,” the teacher said slowly, using that kind of tone older people use when talking to younger ones.
“Ah… okay…” Lin Muqing nodded blankly, with a very confused look on her face.
“But recently, I’ve heard some rumors… people say that you and Ye Ziming are very close, closer than just friends,” the teacher said politely, but the meaning was very clear.
Hearing this, Lin Muqing felt very awkward and didn’t know what to say for a moment.
To be honest, in some ways, she and her buddy were already a “couple”, and both the Lin and Ye families had announced it publicly.
“You two wouldn’t happen to be…” the teacher started to ask.

Still… the fact that the rumors about her and her best bro had spread all the way to the teachers’ office… was a little scary.
There were always rumors in school, but the ones that made it to the teachers? That didn’t happen often.
“Big Bro, I think something big just happened…”
After dealing with the teacher, Lin Muqing went back to the classroom and immediately told her best bro what had just happened.
But to her surprise, her best bro didn’t even seem shocked. In fact, he just gave her a small smile.
“What big thing?” he asked, pretending not to understand. Ye Ziming raised an eyebrow and looked at her, finding her nervous face kind of cute.
“The whole school thinks we’re gay!”
Seeing how calm he was, Lin Muqing got anxious. She widened her eyes and spoke very seriously.
But Ye Ziming still didn’t react much. He just shrugged slightly, the corners of his mouth lifting a bit as he asked.
“So what?”
“I…”
Lin Muqing suddenly didn’t know what to say. It was like she was the only one in the world who was worried about this.
She felt even more frustrated.
Class continued as usual. The three afternoon lessons passed quickly, and soon it was the end of the school day.
During those three classes, Meng Wenwu not only asked Lin Wenbin questions about Lin Muqing, but also secretly watched her.
The result? He was more and more convinced that this “Lin Muqing” in front of him… was actually the same person as his little aunt.
“Ahh~ I haven’t been to the cafe in a while.”
After packing her things, Lin Muqing stood up with her best bro, ready to head to the café to work.

Ye Ziming turned his head and looked at Lin Muqing. He guessed it was probably because of her identity.
It was already something to "steal away" the little princess of the Lin family, but now he was even letting her do part-time work. If her family found out, he felt like things might get serious.
"That’s not okay," he said.
"Why not?" Lin Muqing quickly argued back.
"Why not?" Ye Ziming smiled and asked her in return.
"I’m helping you out with kindness, and you’re not happy about it, huh!"
After being stunned for a second, Lin Muqing quickly changed her tone and stood with her hands on her hips, pretending to be annoyed.
"No, I mean thank you."
Seeing that the little kitty was about to get upset, Ye Ziming quickly tried to calm her down and agreed to let her help. Honestly, he didn’t really need help, the work was simple, but he didn’t say that. He just wanted to give her a reason (or excuse) to come to the cafe with him.
“Hmph. Let’s go.”
Acting a little proud, Lin Muqing lifted her chin and glanced at her good buddy, then walked toward the school gate.
It was a very normal, everyday moment. On the way, Ye Ziming even reached out and gently patted her head to calm her down like she was a cat. But what they didn’t know was upstairs, Meng Wenwu had seen the whole thing from beginning to end.
After a little while, the two of them arrived at the maid café. It didn’t look much different from before the holiday.
“Sister Yu!”
It had been a while since Lin Muqing saw Sister Yu, so she happily greeted her.

Sister Yu greeted her with a warm hug, then pinched Lin Muqing’s cute face and said with a smile. She truly was surprised.

Feeling a bit awkward, Lin Muqing wasn’t sure how to explain everything that had happened in the past few days.

What did surprise her was that even after becoming the little princess, Lin Muqing still came back to the café and even said she wanted to keep learning makeup. Not only that, she also went to the office to help Ye Ziming clean up and organize the work he missed during the break.
“Why do you still want to learn makeup?” Sister Yu asked.
“If I know how, I can earn my own money and spend it how I want!”
Lin Muqing thought for a bit and then answered with a big silly grin.
But in her heart, Lin Muqing was thinking, ‘this way I get another excuse to come to the café with my good buddy! Hehe~’
There was also another reason, when Meng Yue found out, she was really supportive and even got Lin Muqing a whole set of fancy makeup from some foreign brand. Lin Muqing didn’t know much about it, but if her mom said it was good to learn, then she would. Besides, she kind of liked this stuff too.
“Pfft, alright then.”
Sister Yu smiled and patted Lin Muqing’s head again.
Their daily lessons continued. But this time, there was one big difference. Lin Muqing, wearing her own clothes, refused to wear the maid outfit ever again.
Don’t ask why. Just know that. She will not wear a skirt again! Ever!
If she kept wearing it, she was seriously afraid that one day she might forget she was ever a boy.
