Chapter 36: Crisis!

Ren Chi didn’t directly mention the crossdressing incident. At least he still cared enough about An Han’s dignity. The two of them pretended as if nothing had happened and didn’t bring up the topic again.

“You should remember to fold your blanket from now on. After the National Day holiday, the school leaders will come for inspection.”

Ren Chi reminded him, “If you get a point deduction, I can’t help you then.”

“Okay.”

Even though they didn’t talk about the crossdressing, An Han still nervously asked, “Then… teacher, you won’t tell anyone about what happened, right?”

“I know.”

That finally put An Han’s mind at ease.

Although being seen in women’s clothes by the counselor was embarrassing, at least it was only the counselor who saw it.

If it had been one of those big-mouthed student council members, or someone like Chen Junjie who already had a grudge against him, the situation would have been much harder to deal with.

The meals in the school cafeteria were way cheaper than outside. The taste wasn’t great, but for An Han, as long as it filled his stomach at a low price, he was happy enough.

After eating, just as An Han was about to get up, Ren Chi suddenly spoke.

“There’s a sports meet after the National Day holiday. You should join.”

“Huh?”

He pointed at himself in confusion. “Me? The sports meet?”

Every year, the counselor had trouble finding enough people to sign up for the sports meet, but before this, they had never thought of asking someone like An Han, who looked weak and skinny, to participate.

And now, not only was he thin, he also looked a bit too delicate and feminine, definitely not like an athlete.

“I heard you run pretty fast. If you place in the top few, you can even represent the school in the city competition.”

“Come on, our school has sports students who are way better at this…”

It was true that An Han could run fast. He had a habit of jogging on the track every few days, but compared to the sports majors, he was just average, probably not even as good as Long Xing.

He was about to refuse when he saw Ren Chi’s smiling, squinting eyes. His whole body froze. Without thinking twice, he nodded quickly.

“I’ll sign up! I’ll definitely sign up for the sports meet!”

Damn it! Those squinting eyes were the worst, so sneaky!

He had just started to think Ren Chi wasn’t that bad, but now his opinion dropped straight into the negatives.

“Alright then. After the holiday, just tell your class monitor to register you.”

“It doesn’t have to be running, right?”

“Any event is fine.”

Good. That was a relief.

In past years, An Han only showed up for the opening ceremony. After that, he’d hide in the dorm playing games for the rest of the event. To him, the sports meet basically meant three days of vacation.

If he joined a track event, though, he’d have to compete through several rounds, and that meant his “holiday” would be ruined.

Just as he was thinking about which sport he could finish quickly, Ren Chi smiled again and said,

“This year, during the sports meet, I don’t want anyone hiding in their dorms playing games. I’ll be taking attendance every hour.”

“......”

“It’s called a sports meet, not a dorm meet. What’s the point of hiding inside?”

“I got it…”

What bad luck, to have such a strict counselor, especially one holding something against him.

If not for that, even if attendance was taken every ten minutes, An Han would have dared to go back to his dorm without fear. After all, attendance during non-class activities only ever came with the threat of “losing credits.”

But in reality, after all these years, he had never actually lost any credits from it.

And now, one more troublesome thing had been added to his list.

An Han walked out of the cafeteria feeling gloomy, thinking about which event he should join in the upcoming sports meet.

It would be best to choose something that ended quickly, a short event that only took a few minutes, and something he was at least decent at, so he wouldn’t embarrass himself in front of everyone.

He sighed in frustration, feeling like his life was getting worse and worse.

First, his roommate started acting suspicious toward him, then Wu Dongming forced and threatened him, and now he had to deal with Ren Chi, who was holding something against him.

Only Su Peng was different. From beginning to end, Su Peng had kept his secret and never once tried to use it against him.

He looked around, hoping to spot Su Peng somewhere on campus, but even after returning to the dorm, he still didn’t see him.

Just five more points to reach full favorability, he thought gloomily.

As soon as he entered the room, An Han took off his jacket, stood in front of the air conditioner, and used the towel hanging nearby to wipe the sweat off his face.

He had only been outside for about half an hour, but his back was already drenched in sweat.

“I need to buy some sun-protection clothes online,” he muttered.

Then he pulled off his T-shirt and used the towel to wipe his upper body.

Even though he was sweaty all over, he didn’t feel like taking a shower right now. He just wanted to stand in front of the air conditioner and enjoy the cool air.

“Something’s really wrong,” he said to himself.

“These last few days, I haven’t completed any missions or gained any new stats, but it feels like my body keeps changing.”

“Even though I can’t see it in the mirror.”

An Han stood in front of the mirror, looking up and down at his naked reflection.

He had to admit, even though his body was still flat as a board, it looked strangely… attractive.

Especially to those weird guys who liked girls with small chests. They’d probably love his current look.

He opened the wardrobe, took out a clean T-shirt, and was just about to put it on when he suddenly heard the door open.

“An Han.”

It was Su Peng’s voice!

His heart skipped a beat. His movements froze as he turned his head stiffly. But luckily, the wardrobe door was still between him and the dorm entrance.

At the moment, Su Peng could only see his bare legs under the wardrobe door!

“Want to go eat at the cafeteria?”

Su Peng’s footsteps got closer and closer, sounding like the approach of death itself.

If Su Peng saw his body now, it wouldn’t be like a shy girl’s reaction, but still… it would definitely reveal his body’s feminine changes!

If that happened, he’d never be able to show his face at school again!

As the footsteps got closer, An Han’s whole body trembled. He couldn’t help but shout in panic, “Stop!”

His sharp voice was so loud it could almost burst someone’s eardrums. Su Peng froze mid-step.

“Huh?”

“Get out!”

Su Peng instinctively took two steps back and scratched his head. “What’s wrong?”

“I... I’m changing clothes!”

“So what if you’re changing?”

“......”

Damn it, I have no comeback for that!

It wasn’t the first time Su Peng had seen him shirtless. Over the years, he’d often walked around the dorm wearing only underwear after a shower, but now things were different!

“Get out!” An Han shouted again, his voice trembling with both anger and panic.

“Alright, alright,” Su Peng said quickly, startled by the outburst. He backed out of the room and closed the door behind him.

He honestly couldn’t understand why An Han was acting so nervous.

They were both guys, right?

What was the big deal about changing clothes?

An Han was acting stranger and stranger, it was getting harder to figure him out.

Standing outside the door after being yelled at for no reason, Su Peng didn’t feel great. After a moment of hesitation, he decided to just go to the cafeteria by himself.

But before he could take more than two steps, the door opened again.

An Han peeked out, his face flushed red with embarrassment, eyes full of apology. “Just now… I had something to do.”

“Oh,” Su Peng replied coldly.

[Su Peng’s Favorability -3]

Oh no, oh no! The favorability points I worked so hard to raise!

An Han’s heart skipped again. He quickly rushed out of the room and grabbed Su Peng’s arm.

Under Su Peng’s confused gaze, he hurriedly apologized over and over.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”

Looking into those dark, sincere eyes, Su Peng’s attitude softened a bit. “Wanna go have dinner together?”

“Yes!”

Even though he’d just eaten, he’d gladly eat again, if it could fix things!
