Chapter 47: Ren Chi’s Hobby
An Han really didn’t expect this. The usually smiling, seemingly deep and hard-to-read counselor Ren Chi was not only into anime, he was also… a cross-dresser!
He pointed at the female clothes in the corner, curiosity and excitement written all over his face.
“So we’re kindred spirits after all!” he thought.
No wonder Ren Chi wanted to move out of the dorm, renting a place outside offered better privacy.
No wonder he asked me to help move, to help hide the female clothes I had under my blanket back then…
Wait! How am I the same with the counselor? He’s a genuine cross-dresser, I’m just forced into it!
“These are my girlfriend’s clothes,” Ren Chi said calmly, his tone serious, making it very clear, “Don’t make false accusations against the counselor, or I’ll make trouble for you.”
Looking at his upright, completely composed expression, An Han began to doubt his own thoughts.
Such a confident, clear-cut response, without even a hint of guilt in his eyes. This proved it, Ren Chi was an experienced cross-dresser!
He wasn’t even embarrassed about exposing his “secret”!
It couldn’t really be his girlfriend’s clothes, could it?
“I see…” An Han muttered quietly. “You asked me to help move without even packing your stuff first.”
“Two people can pack faster,” Ren Chi said.
He pulled a huge suitcase from the wardrobe. “I’ll pack the clothes, you put my stuff in the box. The boxes are over there.”
He pointed to the corner. An Han turned and saw a stack of flattened cardboard boxes.
“The tape is on the desk.”
“For some reason, the workload just got a lot bigger,” An Han thought.
He had thought he’d just help carry a few things, but seeing all the messy items in Ren Chi’s room and the several boxes, a few trips wouldn’t be enough.
It was the first time An Han had such a casual, barrier-free interaction with a teacher.
He usually respected and felt restrained around teachers, but with Ren Chi, it felt more like hanging out with a friend.
Probably because they liked the same anime and both had experience with cross-dressing.
An Han reassembled the flattened boxes and taped the edges. He then looked up and asked, “Teacher, what does your girlfriend look like?”
“Don’t pry into my personal life,” Ren Chi said.
There it was—proof! Those were definitely his cross-dressing clothes!
An Han had wanted to tease him a bit, but he suddenly remembered that Ren Chi had also kept his secret and had never embarrassed him directly. He had no choice but to suppress his curiosity.
The desk was a mess with all kinds of work notes. An Han neatly stacked them at the bottom of the box and then asked again, “Teacher, should I only put notebooks and books in this box?”
“Do I even have that many books?”
An Han opened the cabinet under the desk. “Yes, a full set of Naruto manga, and Dragon Ball too.”
The manga looked quite old. He pulled out a Dragon Ball volume and flipped through it. These manga were older than him, mostly from the 1990s, well-preserved, and probably valuable as collectibles now.
“You’re not much older than me, right? And these manga are from the ’90s.”
“They were left by my brother,” Ren Chi said, packing his clothes into the suitcase while taking a moment to answer. “When I was little, I pestered him to give them to me.”
“Oh~”
Ren Chi then turned to look at An Han, only to find his student sitting on the floor in a duck-sitting position, carefully flipping through the manga.
He twitched the corner of his mouth, completely unable to understand how a guy could sit on the floor like that so naturally.
“The floor’s dirty.”
“It’s fine, I’m a guy.”
Really? Looking like that, you don’t exactly seem like a guy.
Never mind the posture, just the way he bent his head reading the book, hair falling to the side of his face, he looked like a girl.
Before, Ren Chi had thought An Han was just delicate-looking. Now, after spending more time with him, it felt like there was a girl hiding inside him.
Ren Chi thought this student was a bit unusual, but he didn’t know how to bring it up. All of these feminine gestures just fit too naturally with An Han.
So, pretending to be authoritative, he urged, “Get up and work! Why are you still sitting?”
“Why hurry?” An Han said, reluctantly putting the yellowed pages into the box, then smiling brightly. “Brother Ren~”
“Stop it, I’m not lending it to you.”
Hearing him call him “Brother Ren,” Ren Chi immediately knew what he was thinking.
“Tch, so stingy! I’m helping you move, you know!”
An Han got up quickly, completely unaware that his movements might look unusual. As he helped pack, he kept muttering, “My legs were killing me from running last night, and now I have to squat here helping you pack. You can’t even lend me one comic? So stingy.”
If these were Wu Dongming’s manga, he would have just snatched them. But unfortunately, they belonged to the counselor.
Ren Chi ignored his words, pretending not to hear.
“If you tell your classmates about your cross-dressing, they’ll all want to see you in it…”
Now he couldn’t hold back. Ren Chi glared angrily at An Han. “If you talk, so will I!”
The two stared each other down stubbornly. After a moment, An Han broke first, holding his stomach and laughing. “Teacher, you’re too childish, aren’t you?”
“Respect for nothing!”
“Then don’t look.”
An Han realized how important these two comic sets were to Ren Chi, so he didn’t mention it again and helped quietly pack the messy items.
After a few hours, An Han had packed all the items into three large boxes. Next to them were two suitcases and several backpacks. Now, all of Ren Chi’s things were fully packed.
An Han tried to lift a box, but it was packed so full he could barely move it two meters across the floor after multiple attempts.
“You’re way too weak.”
“It’s because there’s nowhere to grab the box!” An Han complained, attaching a handle with tape to the box, but even then he couldn’t lift it.
He accepted his fate.
As a man, he had always been thin and not very strong. His body now looked healthier, but also more delicate, and he wasn’t sure if that affected his strength.
Even in the past, he wouldn’t have been able to lift it.
Ren Chi stepped forward, managed to lift a box, and then instructed An Han, “Go get the suitcase.”
“Okay.”
“What kind of place did you rent?” An Han asked, carrying the suitcase out of the dorm. Curiosity got the better of him. “How much does it cost to rent near the school?”
“A two-bedroom apartment, just over a thousand.”
“That’s pretty cheap…”
An Han mischievously wondered if the counselor rented the place outside so it would be more convenient for cross-dressing.
