Chapter 67: Smart as Always
After about an hour of training, An Han lay on the long bench in the activity room, staring blankly. His mouth was slightly open as he gasped for air, looking as if he had been completely worn out.
His whole body hurt, and he felt like he had probably sweated a whole kilogram…
He had taken off his jacket long ago. The black tank top he wore was soaked with sweat, and his damp hair stuck to his cheeks. He felt like he was about to die.
“If I could go back to freshman year, I should never have joined this stupid fitness club.”
“I’m so miserable~”
He could feel people around him staring at the rise and fall of his chest. He wanted to cover himself with his jacket, but he was too tired to get up and grab it.
This is why he never wanted to come to the fitness club! Wang Yu was completely trying to train him to death!
[Wang Yu’s favorability toward you +4]
At least after pushing through the workout, Wang Yu’s opinion of him had improved a bit.
But the other club members were whispering among themselves.
“There’s actually a girl in our club!”
“Must be a freshman? I’ve never seen her before.”
“Maybe she’s the president’s girlfriend?”
They don’t know me anyway. If they mistake me for a girl, then whatever.
An Han let out a long hopeless sigh, then saw Wang Yu walk over with his jacket, casually placing it over him.
Wang Yu sat down beside him, grabbed a towel, wiped the sweat off his face, then turned to ask.
“Are you a girl?”
Thinking about it, he realized he had never actually asked about An Han’s gender. Normally, you can tell just by looking, but now Wang Yu was doubting his own original judgment.
“……”
Why do you think that too?! We’ve known each other for more than two years!
Not knowing how to explain, An Han could only use the same excuse he gave Su Peng.
“Maybe I just got a bit fat?”
He quickly changed the subject.
“Why does our club have so few people? Even with us two, it’s only five?”
Wang Yu’s eyes were full of doubt. He didn’t respond and instead stood up and walked toward the treadmill.
“Hey!” An Han called after him. “Have you decided yet? About the match!”
He had nearly died trying to convince Wang Yu to join the tournament, he couldn’t give up now.
Seeing Wang Yu still not turning back, An Han struggled to his feet and grabbed onto the corner of Wang Yu’s shirt.
“It’s just a few matches! And Wang Sheng is the group admin in your CSGO group, give him some face~”
Wang Yu pulled his shirt free without even looking back and stepped onto the treadmill.
“Tch!”
Fine, if he won’t join, then he won’t join. As long as Wang Sheng could play in a match, it didn’t matter. The system would count it no matter the result. There was no need to fixate on Wang Yu alone.
An Han let out a long sigh and was about to leave, when suddenly a system interface popped up in front of him.
[Option 1: Use your body as repayment to get Wang Yu’s help. Reward: A large luxury apartment.]
[Option 2: Use your beauty as temptation. Reward: Aesthetic trait.]
[Option 3: Cling to him relentlessly and refuse to give up. Reward: Random attribute point.]
He stared blankly at the system choices and basically understood what he was supposed to do.
Knowing how the system usually worked, “cling relentlessly” was definitely the easiest option. Using his body as repayment… putting aside whether An Han could accept that, Wang Yu probably couldn’t accept it either, so that option was obviously the hardest.
So he only needed to keep pestering him? Was Wang Yu the type who couldn’t handle someone being clingy and pushy?
An Han thought about it. For something as small as helping Wang Sheng find five teammates, there was no need for him to keep feminizing himself.
[Task 2 accepted. Please complete it as soon as possible.]
He accepted Task 2… but planned to complete it using Option 3’s method!
This way, even if he finished Option 3, he wouldn’t get any reward.
A system loophole!
Clinging nonstop? Easy!
Since he had already thrown away his pride, after catching his breath he dragged a chair to the side of the treadmill and sat right next to Wang Yu, staring at him while he worked out.
From time to time, he would say,
“Join the match, okay?”
“It’s just a few days, it won’t delay your plans.”
“I don’t think you’re that busy anyway.”
“Wang Sheng said you’re really good. You’re the best choice!”
Once he started talking, he couldn’t stop, like a buzzing mosquito in Wang Yu’s ear.
At first, Wang Yu could still ignore him, running with a blank expression. But An Han just wouldn’t shut up. After repeating the same persuasion lines over and over, he started talking about Wang Sheng’s struggles and dreams instead.
After around half an hour, Wang Yu got off the treadmill, wiped his sweat, and walked straight out of the activity room.
An Han quickly followed, but he noticed Wang Yu’s steps getting faster and faster, walking went from normal speed to power-walking.
“Hey! Wait for me!” An Han jogged to keep up. Seeing that they were heading toward the school cafeteria, he became excited. “Perfect, I’m hungry too. Let’s eat together?”
Wang Yu paused, then turned and headed toward the dorms instead.
“Then I’ll order takeout. What do you want? If we order together we can get a discount.”
Watching Wang Yu flee like that filled An Han with secret joy.
Before, he had always been the one who panicked whenever he saw Wang Yu, like a mouse seeing a cat. But now the situation had totally flipped.
He just hoped Wang Yu wouldn’t get so annoyed that he’d beat him up.
Wang Yu sped up and reached the dorm. The moment he entered, he slammed the door shut, trying to keep An Han out.
“Ah!”
The scream made him turn around. He saw that An Han had stuck his leg into the doorway, and the door had slammed right into his calf.
Wang Yu knew exactly how much force he used. He quickly opened the door and looked outside. An Han’s face was pale, his lips trembling as he slowly squatted down and held his leg. His teeth were clenched in pain, yet his eyes still stared firmly at Wang Yu.
“You…” Wang Yu couldn’t understand this level of determination.
Because the pain came so suddenly, two tears had already fallen down An Han’s cheeks. He forced a smile while enduring the pain.
“Wang Sheng just wants to play in an official match… it won’t take long.”
“If I don’t go… are you planning to keep bothering me?”
Wang Yu’s face darkened. He looked like he was about to explode in anger, making An Han’s heart shake with fear. He was terrified that Wang Yu might suddenly lose his temper.
An Han was scared, but he still nodded hard. “Yes!”
[Wang Yu’s favorability toward you +10]
Wang Yu paused for a moment, then waved his hand impatiently.
“Fine, fine, stop bothering me. I’ll help your roommate play the matches for a few days, right? Just remind me when it’s time.”
“For real?!” An Han stood up excitedly, only to scream in pain and stumble back against the hallway railing.
“Go to the medical room. Get it checked.” Wang Yu walked out of the dorm, and the coldness on his face had softened a bit. “Let’s go. I’ll pay for the medicine.”
“Mm, thank you.”
Wang Yu sighed and went over to support his arm.
“If you were this determined about fitness, you would never have become like this. You’d at least be a nearly-170cm tall muscle guy by now.”
The system never offered that kind of reward…
“That actually doesn’t sound very good…”
In his mind, An Han imagined a muscular dwarf man.
