Chapter 91: A Sudden Turn!
When the song ended, the KTV room fell completely silent.
An Han stood blankly in front of the screen, staring at it, waiting for the next song to start automatically.
But after waiting a while with no sound, he turned around, his eyes slightly unfocused, his cheeks puffed out in a mix of annoyance and lazy exhaustion.
“Where’s the song? Why did it stop?” he asked unhappily.
“Damn! That was awesome!”
Chen Junjie was the first to react, he slapped his thigh and jumped up excitedly.
Then Long Xing and Wang Sheng both shouted almost at the same time, “Holy crap!”
It was as if their vocabulary suddenly dropped to elementary-school level. All they could say were “Damn!” and “Awesome!”
Only Su Peng, who had just recovered from the pain in his “vital spot,” managed to squeeze out one word through gritted teeth. “Impressive.”
An Han tilted his head, hugging the microphone and watching their reactions. His slow, alcohol-fogged brain suddenly became clear.
Wait a minute… I’m drunk and making a fool of myself! Why are you all so excited about this?
And Long Xing! I just said your singing was awful and then completely crushed you in the same song, shouldn’t you be mad? Why do you look happier than anyone else here?!
“What do you want to sing next? I’ll queue it for you!” Long Xing said excitedly, rushing to the song selection screen.
“An Han! How did you make your voice sound like that? It’s exactly like a girl’s!” Chen Junjie leaned in close, his eyes shining. “You sound better than some real singers!”
But An Han had no idea what he had done. Thanks to his advanced singing skill, even while drunk and uninhibited, his singing was still far above everyone else’s level.
Since Long Xing didn’t seem angry, An Han didn’t feel like continuing. He staggered to the sofa, sat down, and turned his head toward Su Peng.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“……”
Su Peng stayed silent. An Han had already forgotten everything that happened earlier, by tomorrow morning, he probably wouldn’t remember any of it.
With a sigh, he lay down across the sofa. The dizziness from the alcohol grew stronger, his half-open eyes staring vaguely at the ceiling.
“Not singing anymore?” Chen Junjie asked, disappointed. He had even gotten his phone ready to record, but An Han was already lying down.
“He’s drunk. Don’t push him,” Long Xing said, though there was a trace of regret in his tone. This was the first time in two years he had heard An Han sing. He had expected a rough, off-key voice, but instead it was so beautiful that he was speechless.
Now it made sense, all that drinking earlier must have been for courage. This was probably An Han’s first time getting drunk, maybe even his first time drinking at all… Could it be that he drank just so he could sing for my birthday?
That must be his real birthday gift to me.
The performance had moved Long Xing deeply. He knew An Han wasn’t a social butterfly, despite all his pranks, he actually feared embarrassment the most.
[Long Xing’s Favorability +5]
Half-asleep and half-conscious, An Han suddenly saw the familiar system message pop up in front of his eyes. He forced them open, searching around the room for Long Xing’s location.
Through his blurry, spinning vision, he finally spotted Long Xing, still chatting excitedly with Chen Junjie about his singing.
You bastard! I should smash a bottle over your head right now!
He tried to stand, his whole body weak, but he still managed to lift himself up a little.
“Not going to sleep?” Long Xing turned toward him.
The others had stopped singing, playing only soft, relaxing background music so An Han could rest. They were quietly eating snacks and chatting.
“I… need to pee.”
Seeing how tall and big Long Xing was, even in his drunk state, An Han chickened out instantly.
“I’ll go with you.”
Both Long Xing and Su Peng stood up at the same time, then froze, and sat back down again, also in sync.
Their movements were a bit strange, but they seemed to understand each other without saying a word.
The two guys, both with a favorability of ninety, looked into each other’s eyes, as if they sensed a kindred spirit.
“I can do it myself!”
An Han struggled to sit up from the sofa, holding onto the back for support. He stood shakily and took just one step before his thigh hit the table, making him cry out in pain.
Su Peng, who was right beside him, quickly helped him up and said helplessly, “Let me help you walk.”
“Mm…”
This was An Han’s first time getting drunk since he ever started drinking. He had never felt this weak before, as if everything he did went wrong. His body felt soft and powerless, and he even began to doubt whether he could take care of himself.
And beside him was Su Peng, the very person he usually kept his guard up against, which made him feel even less safe. He was afraid something might happen if Su Peng took him to some quiet corner.
Su Peng held onto An Han’s shoulder, but after just a few steps, he felt that soft body leaning tightly against him.
An Han’s body was so soft it felt boneless. When Su Peng looked down, he saw those watery eyes filled with gentle emotion. That pure face, with a small beauty mark that added a touch of charm, was flushed red. An Han seemed to be trying to walk on his own, but after a few steps, he would fall weakly against Su Peng again.
Su Peng couldn’t help but feel that the person beside him was completely like a girl. Even through the clothes, he could feel the warmth of An Han’s body, and his hair carried a faint scent that brushed against his nose. It made him, as a normal man, really struggle to hold himself together.
What a little demon…
He sighed inside, trying to straighten An Han’s body and put some distance between them, but An Han couldn’t stand properly. Despite only weighing around a hundred pounds, his body felt unusually heavy right now.
Thankfully, the KTV was dimly lit, so no one noticed anything strange. An Han, being drunk, didn’t notice at all either.
They walked out of the private room. Su Peng looked around for the restroom sign when suddenly the person in his arms spoke.
“Su Peng…”
“What is it?”
“You won’t… do anything to me, right?”
An Han’s mind was blurry, his body out of control, yet he still worried about his safety.
Su Peng froze. The words, spoken in that soft, gentle voice, almost sounded like a shy invitation.
“…No, I won’t.”
“Mm.”
Su Peng sighed helplessly. “Don’t get drunk again next time. It’s dangerous.”
If it were anyone else, he wouldn’t have cared whether they drank or not, even if they passed out on an empty street, he’d just assume they’d lose their phone at worst. But An Han was different.
Hearing Su Peng’s promise, An Han immediately relaxed, though he still muttered in frustration, “I didn’t mean to drink that much…”
He just wanted to get a little drunk and act silly for fun, who knew he’d drink too fast and end up totally wasted. From now on, he’d avoid drinking whenever possible.
When they reached the restroom, Su Peng helped An Han inside, but as soon as he looked up, he saw several men inside staring at them in confusion. Some even hurriedly pulled up their pants and rushed out.
Su Peng stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
“Go next door…” An Han, used to situations like this, whispered the reminder.
At the women’s restroom door, Su Peng had to let go, watching An Han stagger inside while holding onto the wall.
Scratching his head, Su Peng realized An Han must be used to being mistaken for a girl in public.
[Su Peng’s favorability +2]
The next moment, An Han stumbled out of the restroom, shouting, “Damn it!!”
“Huh?”
