Chapter 101: The Next Day

Mission completed~

Too bad the reward was completely useless.

An Han sleepily opened his eyes and stared blankly at the dorm ceiling. For some reason, once the sense of urgency from the mission disappeared, all his motivation was gone too. Right now, he just wanted to lie in bed and be a lazy slacker.

Rolling over and lying on his stomach, he rubbed his cheek against the soft pillow, narrowing his eyes in comfort.

So nice.

Days without any pressure really were the best.

This was what a college weekend should feel like. Not being anxious or scared, not being forced to wear women’s clothes to cosplay events or walk around the streets dealing with people who clearly had bad intentions toward him.

When he woke up again, it was already dusk outside. The soft sound of rain tapping against the window filled the room, and the white noise made his body relax even more.

These days, the system missions seemed to appear less often. Maybe it was because he’d already completed too many earlier, so no new ones had triggered yet.

Whatever the reason, right now, An Han just wanted to clear his mind and enjoy this moment of peace.

Until—

The door suddenly swung open with a loud bang.

No need to look, definitely Chen Junjie.

An Han sighed helplessly, propped himself up, and looked toward the door. Sure enough, Chen Junjie came in carrying a takeout bag.

When he noticed An Han’s tired, slightly annoyed gaze, he grinned mischievously and walked over with a gossipy look on his face.

“Guess what? Brother Long likes someone again!”

“Hm?” An Han’s eyes instantly lit up.

Who?! Someone actually helped me get rid of this threat?

Such great kindness, I’ll definitely repay it someday!

Seeing An Han interested, Chen Junjie purposely dragged it out.

“You didn’t see him, man. When Brother Long saw that girl, he got so excited his whole face turned red like a monkey’s butt. But he’s kinda hopeless, too timid to even ask for her WeChat.”

“Really?” An Han sat up straight on the bed. “Who’s the girl? Where did he meet her?”

“At the cosplay event. Looked like love at first sight.”

“......”

All excitement vanished from An Han’s face. Expressionless, he stared at Chen Junjie, lips pressed tight, waiting for him to keep talking.

“She had really long legs and was dressed kinda… sexy.”

“......”

“Maybe that’s just the type Brother Long likes.”

An Han turned his head silently and unplugged the phone charger from the power strip by the bed.

“Too bad I didn’t see her face clearly,” Chen Junjie went on. “But besides her legs, everything else was just average. Flat chest, probably not even an A cup.”

“Tsk, though she did have a pretty nice little butt. Brother Long definitely got a good look at her—eh? Why are you giving me that expression?”

An Han’s angry laugh burst out as he lifted the charger in his hand and swung it straight at Chen Junjie’s head.

You’re talking about ME, damn it!

You’re the one who’s ‘sexy’! Your whole family is sexy!

Startled, Chen Junjie yelped and jumped aside. The charger hit the floor with a loud crack, breaking into several pieces. Clearly, An Han hadn’t held back at all.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!”

“You’re the one running your mouth about Brother Long’s crush! You’re the crazy one!”

Fuming, An Han glared at him with puffed cheeks.

Chen Junjie instantly lost his confidence. He realized he might’ve said too much, but still angry, he kicked the trash bin, turned back to his computer, and muttered under his breath,

“I was even gonna show you the photo, damn it. If you didn’t wanna hear it, just say so. No need to throw a fit.”

Wait—photo?!

The anger from a moment ago disappeared instantly. Feeling a bit nervous, An Han turned to Chen Junjie and asked,

“Photo? Send it to me.”

“No way! Get lost!”

Well, that confirmed it, the photo definitely didn’t show the face clearly. Otherwise, Chen Junjie wouldn’t be acting like this.

“It’s not like she’s his girlfriend, just someone he likes. What’s the big deal about talking about it? … Brother Long doesn’t even have that girl’s WeChat.”

Chen Junjie kept trying to justify himself while clicking around on his computer with the mouse.

An Han climbed out of bed, glanced at Chen Junjie’s back with a faint, cold look in his eyes.

You’ll get what’s coming to you sooner or later.

After washing up on the balcony, An Han sent a message to Lin Yi, asking if she had received the cheongsam that Su Peng delivered. Once she confirmed, he sat down next to Wang Sheng, looking gloomy, and opened a random video to watch.

Right now, the only person he could really trust was Wang Sheng.

Wang Sheng noticed a faint, refreshing scent drifting from An Han’s side, so he turned to look and asked,

“Where did you go yesterday? Didn’t see you all day, and you didn’t come back last night either.”

“Why are you so concerned about me?” An Han leaned his cheek on his hand, eyes still on the screen.

“Just asking, that’s all.”

“Really?”

An Han turned his head toward him, only to see Wang Sheng quickly look away, flustered. That sudden reaction made An Han’s heart skip a beat.

No way… right? No way!

Looking awkward, Wang Sheng avoided his gaze and stammered, “It’s just… I was worried something happened to you. You’ve been busier than usual lately, going out every weekend and being all secretive.”

He continued, “Seriously, if something’s wrong, you can tell me. I can help, whether it’s money or anything else…”

Why does that sound so much like a confession?!

Gritting his teeth, An Han spoke in his mind.

Check Wang Sheng’s favorability level.

[Wang Sheng: Favorability 55]

Last time it was 50, right? Still not that high though!

“It’s nothing. What could possibly happen to me?”

An Han calmed down, looked away from Wang Sheng, and started guessing at his intentions.

Probably just too shy to express concern properly. Yeah, that’s all.

Feeling relieved, he asked, “Where’s Long Xing?”

As soon as he mentioned him, the dorm door opened. Long Xing walked in, wearing quick-dry sports clothes and carrying a pink thermos.

His tight short-sleeved shirt showed the thick tattoos covering his muscular arms. His build was strong, his muscles filled out the sleeves, and with his short buzzcut and cold expression, he looked exactly like a tough gangster.

But that pink thermos in his hand… totally ruined the image, making him look almost cute.

An Han couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Long Xing looked over in confusion, so An Han quickly covered his mouth with one hand and tried to hold back his smile.

“Brother Long, how about I buy you a new thermos instead?”

“No need, I like this one. No reason to replace it.” Long Xing grinned and set the thermos on the table.

He usually hid his fondness for girly pink stuff, but since An Han had already noticed, he could use this as an excuse. If anyone asked, he could proudly say, “It’s a gift from a girl I like.”

“Like it? You mean the color, or…”

…or the person who gave it to you?

“Anything from a friend, I like.” Long Xing hid his real thoughts behind a calm tone.

That answer, however, made An Han’s smile freeze. If that’s how it is, then he must never give Long Xing anything again.

“I see… then you can keep it.”

Inside, An Han was fuming.

Keep it! Take it to the gym every day! When people laugh at you for carrying that pink thing, you’ll finally understand my revenge!
