Chapter 107: The Idea of Living Off-Campus

Right after class ended at noon the next day, An Han went to the floor where the teachers’ offices were. He peeked around carefully, looking through the open doors.

Most of the desks were empty, and after searching for a while, he still couldn’t find any sign of Ren Chi. With a helpless sigh, he was just about to turn and leave when he suddenly heard a door open from another office behind him.

“An Han?”

“Brother Ren~”

An Han perked up with surprise and quickly went over, but Ren Chi was holding some documents and walking in a hurry.

An Han had no choice but to jog to keep up with him.

“What is it? I’m about to go to a meeting.”

“I want to live off-campus.”

“No.”

“Wait, come on~ with our relationship—” An Han grinned, trying to smooth things over with his usual playful tone. He was even already thinking about what kind of gift he could give Ren Chi as a bribe.

Ren Chi slowed his steps slightly and gave him a glance.

“It’s exactly because we’re close that I won’t agree. What if you cause trouble out there? What if something happens to you?”

“It won’t! I’ll be fine!”

Ren Chi didn’t seem convinced.

With An Han’s looks and the courage to wear a cheongsam at a comic convention even as a guy, who could say for sure he wouldn’t stir up trouble off-campus?

He was already this bold within school walls. If he stayed outside, where no one could keep an eye on him, who knew what might happen?

“It’s almost sports day now, everyone’s busy. Let’s talk about it after the event.” Ren Chi hurried upstairs as soon as he finished.

“Eh?”

Standing still, An Han began to realize where the difficulty of his current task lay.

The mission required him not to participate in the sports meet, but he had already agreed to take part because of Ren Chi’s request. If he suddenly backed out now, it would make his off-campus housing request even less likely to be approved.

Actually, “request” wasn’t the right word. It was more like coercion.

Back then, when Ren Chi discovered the women’s clothes An Han hid under his bed, he smiled slyly and blackmailed him into joining the sports meet. An Han had no choice but to agree, otherwise more people would find out about his secret.

If he changed his mind now and refused to join, that secret might get exposed in front of everyone.

Ren Chi even took several pictures of him in that cheongsam, holding solid evidence in his hands.

So, the challenge in Option One wasn’t just about finishing the mission, that part was easy, the real problem would be dealing with the aftermath.

“Ren Chi’s not that kind of person, right?”

An Han muttered to himself. From what he’d seen of Ren Chi lately, his personality didn’t seem that bad. Besides, Ren Chi seemed to like him quite a bit.

Since there was no progress with Ren Chi for now, An Han decided to switch tactics.

“Staying in the dorm is too dangerous. I’ll need to talk to my roommates about helping me answer roll call in the future, especially Wang Sheng. I just helped him with his team stuff, so asking him to cover for me shouldn’t be a big deal, right?”

He stopped by the cafeteria and bought three boxed meals before heading back to the dorm.

The moment he opened the door, Chen Junjie’s loud complaining voice came from inside.

“What took you so long just to buy food! I’m starving to death here!”

“Be grateful you even have something to eat! If you hadn’t called me dad, I wouldn’t have brought you any!”

An Han glared at him and casually put the three meals on the desk. Chen Junjie didn’t argue, he just grabbed one and left.

That morning’s classes were all easy subjects, so both Chen Junjie and Wang Sheng had chosen to sleep in instead of going.

As for Long Xing, he preferred ordering delivery and didn’t like showing off at the cafeteria, so the task of getting lunch for everyone always fell to An Han.

As soon as he sat down, he turned his gaze toward Wang Sheng.

He grinned and leaned closer. “Wang Sheng, can you help me answer roll call tonight?”

“You’re going out?”

“No, I’m hiding on the balcony.”

Wang Sheng looked confused. “Why hide on the balcony? Is someone you don’t like doing the roll call tonight?”

“I just want to test something. I’m thinking of moving out for a while.”

As soon as he said that, Long Xing and Chen Junjie both looked at him.

“It’s less than a year before graduation. Why move out now?” Unexpectedly, Chen Junjie spoke first, sounding annoyed and sarcastic. “Maybe someone just doesn’t think this dorm is good enough for them, would rather live outside than stay with us, huh?”

This guy always had a sharp tongue.

“Besides, do you even have money? Moving out? Did you find yourself a rich sponsor or something?”

“No one would think you’re mute if you just shut up!” An Han angrily threw an empty water bottle at him.

Long Xing also tried to persuade him. “Did you get an internship or something? Or do you just not feel comfortable living here? There’s no need to move out, right?”

Because of you!

I’ve tried so hard, but your favorability still won’t go down. This is my last resort.

“Anyway, I want to live outside.” An Han shook his head stubbornly.

As long as he could live off campus, he could minimize contact with Long Xing and Su Peng.

And if he lived alone… he could even wear women’s clothes more freely…

He quickly stopped that thought, lowered his head, and continued eating without explaining more.

The others looked at each other, not understanding why he suddenly wanted to move out.

“Maybe he’s got a girlfriend? Wants to live together with her?” Chen Junjie teased.

A girlfriend would be nice, huh~

An Han smiled bitterly inside. Even if a girl liked him now, he wouldn’t dare accept her confession, he didn’t want to waste her time.

But Long Xing had another idea. “You bully Xiao Han every day. Maybe he’s had enough of you.”

“I don’t bully him!” Chen Junjie quickly denied it.

“Well, he’s put up with you for two years,” Wang Sheng added.

“I swear, you three are teaming up to mess with me!”

It’s just one roommate moving out, do they really need to make such a fuss?

An Han finished his lunch and turned to look at them.

He could understand if Long Xing felt reluctant, but even Chen Junjie, whose favorability was only a bit over fifty and who was always arguing with him, looked like he didn’t want him to go?

Could it be that Chen Junjie likes me too?

And just acts like a middle-schooler, teasing the person he likes to get attention?

No way… right?

An Han studied their faces but couldn’t read anything, so he stood up and went to the balcony.

If only the mission reward gave him something like mind reading, he wouldn’t have to guess like this.

Then he could tell whether his roommates’ affection came from brotherly friendship… or love.

“Hey! An Han!”

Chen Junjie came to the balcony with a cigarette in his mouth, his face freshly washed.

“What do you want?” An Han frowned and moved farther away from him.

Ever since his body started becoming more feminine, he couldn’t stand the smell of smoke. Thankfully, the two smokers in the dorm usually went to the balcony. But it still made all the clothes hung there smell like cigarettes.

“Are you seriously moving out, or are you just joking?”

“I’m serious.”

“Where are you getting the money? Have you even found a place yet? We’ve helped you with roll call a few times already, are we supposed to do that for the whole year?”

“……”

An Han went silent for a moment, then muttered, “Then I’ll just climb over the wall after roll call.”

He hesitated a little. The idea of living off campus had been a sudden thought, and he wasn’t fully prepared yet.
