Chapter 117: The Last Struggle
An Han deeply understood that lowering Su Peng and Long Xing’s favorability below 80 in just eight hours was basically an impossible-level mission.
He had tried many times before, even if he managed to make their favorability drop a little, it would quickly rise back up again, and even faster than before.
Sitting blankly in front of the computer, An Han absentmindedly picked up a piece of chicken from his takeout box.
But this time... it’s about my gender!
This might be my only chance to return to how I used to be, to remove all these feminine traits once and for all!
Before, he still held on to his moral boundaries. Even when he wanted to lower Su Peng and Long Xing’s favorability, he would never go too far, just some harmless pranks.
But now, if he didn’t push his moral limits a bit, he would either become a futanari or a woman!
After a long moment of deep thought, An Han decided that this afternoon, he would fight one last desperate battle!
At least, he had to give it one more try. Even if he did end up becoming a woman, he wouldn’t regret it too much.
If it failed... then he’d just go on that date with Su Peng later! Damn it!
Right now, Long Xing’s favorability was 91. He needed to make it drop by at least 12 points!
He immediately stood up, grabbed the takeout box, and with a wicked grin, got ready to dump the entire thing on Long Xing’s head.
“Xiao Han.”
An Han froze, then casually put the takeout into the trash bin. “What’s up?”
“Do you have any money? Can you lend me some?”
Damn it! I was just planning to borrow money and not pay it back to lower your favorability!
Surprised, he asked, “You’re short on cash?”
“Yeah... I overspent a bit on my birthday last time…”
Normally, Long Xing was the type who would rather go hungry than lose face by borrowing money.
Looks like with his favorability over 90, he doesn’t feel embarrassed in front of me anymore...
“How much?” An Han asked. “It’s the end of the month, I don’t have much either.”
“Fifty?”
“Nope! Not lending you!”
He first let Long Xing hope for a yes, and then crushed that hope instantly.
But the favorability still didn’t drop.
Long Xing didn’t seem bothered, just muttered as he turned back to his computer, “Guess I’ll sneak out later to find a part-time job. Maybe deliver food at the cafeteria or something.”
An Han looked at the trash bin, seriously considering dumping it over Long Xing’s head. He’d probably get beaten up, but... if it meant staying a man...
Long Xing turned around again, frowning slightly, as if he sensed the hostility.
An Han quickly hid the evil look in his eyes and replaced it with his usual playful smile.
Better not do something that might get him punched. His body wasn’t that strong anyway, and besides, he still had two targets to handle.
If dumping the trash could really drop Long Xing’s favorability below 80, that would be fine... but he’d also probably end up in the hospital, or worse at the police station. Then he wouldn’t even have the chance to deal with Su Peng.
If it didn’t drop much, then all that would just be pointless.
Gotta think of another plan...
An Han went back to his computer, pulled out his phone, and opened a message reminding him to pay his phone bill.
He curled his lips, deleted it, then scrolled down through his messages, and suddenly spotted a loan advertisement.
In that instant, a spark of inspiration struck him like lightning.
“Brother Long~”
“What’s up?”
“Come with me to the balcony. I’ve got something to tell you.”
Curious, Long Xing got up and followed him, eyes full of confusion, but also curiosity.
Seeing An Han’s complicated expression, a wild thought suddenly crossed his mind.
Could it be... a confession?!
He started imagining what might happen next.
Yeah, it’s a bit weird for two guys, but society’s open and tolerant now. It’s not impossible… except for, you know, not being able to register the marriage officially.
“Brother Long.”
When An Han came to the balcony, he casually closed the dorm’s back door behind him. Now it was just the two of them.
Long Xing’s heart started beating faster and faster with excitement. He swallowed hard and asked gently, “Xiao Han, what’s wrong?”
“Well…” An Han lowered his head, his face showing a shy blush. “We’ve had a really good relationship these past two years, right?”
“Yeah, of course.”
“Then… can you lend me your ID card?”
Long Xing froze, a little confused. “My ID card?”
“I want to borrow some money… like, take a loan.”
The lower half of An Han’s face was hidden in shadow, but a playful smile quietly appeared on his lips. Even though this system made life tough, teasing boys was still one of life’s great joys!
“Then what about your own ID card?”
“If I use my own, and I can’t pay back the money, won’t that affect my credit record?”
An Han said in a tone that sounded confident and totally reasonable.
“But if I lend you mine, then it’ll affect my record…” Long Xing’s mind was a bit slow to catch up, but soon he frowned and asked, “What do you even need the money for? A loan usually means you need tens of thousands, right?”
An Han calmly answered, “I want to buy the new iPhone 13!”
“Just to buy a phone?”
“What else?”
[Long Xing’s favorability toward you -3]
As expected! Sometimes you just have to lower your moral limits a bit!
Long Xing is starting to see me in a bad light! Keep going, say something worse...
“We haven’t even graduated from college yet. Why do you need such an expensive phone?” Long Xing frowned tightly, trying to teach An Han the right values.
“Your phone still works fine, right? You don’t need a new one. You’ve never earned money before, you don’t know how hard it is. I worked in a factory for two months during summer break and only made six thousand yuan…”
The more Long Xing talked, the more conflicted An Han felt inside. Long Xing was truly a good friend to him, and those harsh words were hard to say. But to stay a normal man… sorry, bro.
“Brother Long, we’ve been friends for years… Do you not see me as a real friend?”
An Han worried that this line might be too much, that it could make Long Xing completely cut ties with him. As soon as he said it, he quickly looked up to check Long Xing’s expression.
“Xiao Han, what are you saying… Fine, fine. I’ll go get my ID card…” Long Xing sighed heavily, his face showing helplessness. “But I have to be there when you borrow the money. I need to at least see how much you’re borrowing.”
He shook his head in defeat, already imagining himself miserably paying off An Han’s debt later.
[Long Xing’s favorability toward you -10]
Success! That’s minus thirteen total, mission overachieved!
An Han’s eyes lit up, and he almost screamed with joy. But he quickly calmed himself down, suddenly patting Long Xing’s shoulder as he was about to go back inside.
Long Xing turned around in surprise, only to see An Han smiling brightly at him, eyes curved into crescents, joy sparkling in his pupils. The corners of his lips lifted, showing two small dimples, his smile was playful and sly.
Since the goal was achieved, he might as well explain everything and clear up the greedy, unreasonable image he’d just created.
“No need, no need! Brother Long, you’re so loyal!” An Han grinned, grabbing his arm. “Come on! I’ll treat you to milk tea! I’m not buying the phone anymore!”
“You…”
“It was just a prank!”
“Are you out of your mind?” Long Xing stared at that pretty face. When he realized it was only a prank, the frustration in his chest faded, though he was still annoyed. “Do you have to turn everything into a joke?”
An Han quickly tried to give a reasonable excuse. “Don’t be mad~ I just wanted to test how strong our friendship really is!”
Of course, a “test” like that would still hurt their friendship, and such an excuse probably wouldn’t help his favorability recover.
“The result is clear! Brother Long, you’re the best person in the world! You even offered to lend me your ID card!”
Long Xing was completely dumbfounded.
