Chapter 122: I Was Clearly Here First
The sports day in the afternoon was still as lively as before.
But An Han quietly sat in a corner of the field, his legs curled up, arms wrapped around them, chin resting on his knees. In the shadow, only his eyes could be seen faintly looking ahead.
He watched the energetic students playing around, and the runners speeding down the track, his face expressionless, yet his slightly pale cheeks suddenly turned bright red. He quickly lowered his head, burying his face between his knees and arms.
That tingling, almost suffocating feeling of strange pleasure, like something demonic, still lingered inside his body.
After a while, the sensation slowly faded. An Han secretly glanced down at his pants and sighed in relief.
“Good... it hasn’t turned into a girl’s body yet.”
“Maybe it’ll happen when the mission time ends? Or there’s some other step I don’t know about?”
“But even if I haven’t turned into a girl yet, my eighteen centimeters is basically like a little worm now.”
He muttered softly to himself, trying to comfort his mind.
“It’s fine, look on the bright side. If I become a girl, at least I won’t have to go to the proctology department anymore, right?”
“Though... I might have to go to obstetrics and gynecology instead...”
He let out a long sigh and forced himself to clear away the image of Su Peng that kept flashing through his mind. His eyes became firmer.
“Even if I turn into a woman, I will never give in! I have to keep finding a way to fight the system, to turn back into a man! I can’t let the system trick me into thinking I’ve fallen for Su Peng!”
“At least I need to stay mentally normal—”
He suddenly heard footsteps and quickly shut his mouth, turning his head. It was Su Peng!
His heart jumped with brief happiness, but then panic hit. He quickly got up and turned his back to Su Peng, walking away.
Since he was already giving up on today’s sports events, there was no need to care what Su Peng thought, and even less reason to keep pretending to be cheerful around him.
Su Peng watched the graceful figure of his back and sighed in frustration.
“Looks like I really scared him off... what should I do now? He keeps saying he doesn’t like men...”
Then why did he seem so happy being with me lately?
Feeling helpless, Su Peng turned around and went back to where his class was gathered, his face troubled.
“Su Peng, where’s An Han?”
The advisor, Ren Chi, walked up slowly and stood beside him. “Why wasn’t he around when I called his name? The match is about to start.”
“He’s over there.” Su Peng pointed toward the ping-pong court, where a faint figure could be seen sitting on a table. “He said he’s not joining anymore.”
“???” Ren Chi looked at him, confused. “What happened?”
“We... argued. He got mad.”
Well, kind of an argument.
Su Peng felt a bit guilty. He definitely couldn’t tell the advisor that An Han had stopped talking to him after he forcefully kissed him. That would probably get him sent straight to the police station.
Ren Chi was stunned, then asked curiously, “You two? Arguing? I thought you got along really well, you even spent the whole National Day together.”
“Uh... well...”
“Go find a substitute and run the race,” Ren Chi said impatiently, frowning as he pushed Su Peng’s shoulder. “Hurry up, don’t mess up the competition.”
Su Peng stumbled a bit from the push, then scratched his head helplessly. “Alright, alright.” He hadn’t planned to run anyway, but seeing how serious Ren Chi was about the match, he could only go find a temporary teammate.
Ren Chi was furious, An Han had promised long ago that he would join this sports day, but now that the event was starting, he suddenly went back on his word.
Meanwhile, An Han was sitting on the ping-pong table in a daze. His legs hung in the air, gently swinging back and forth. Suddenly, he felt a strong, angry stare on him. He turned his head and saw Ren Chi walking toward him with a stormy expression.
Uh oh…
Here comes the scolding.
An Han didn’t feel like doing anything anymore. His mind was full of fear and anxiety about turning into a girl soon. He glanced at Ren Chi, then looked down again with a gloomy face.
“Talk,” Ren Chi said, stopping in front of him. “The match starts in thirty minutes, and you’re saying you’re not joining anymore?”
“Yeah…” An Han lowered his head and answered softly, his tone full of sadness.
Seeing him so down and distracted, Ren Chi’s anger started to fade. He leaned against the ping-pong table, crossed his arms, and asked more calmly, “What happened with Su Peng? You two are acting like you’ll never speak again.”
“I… we just argued, that’s all.” An Han turned his head away. “Brother Ren, I want to move out.”
“No way!”
[Ren Chi’s affection toward you -5]
“…Alright…”
So not joining the competition made his affection level drop after all.
It seemed affection was divided by tens, Ren Chi’s affection for him had been around seventy before, but now it dropped to the sixties. That meant some requests that might have been approved were now impossible.
An Han had already expected that. He sighed softly, full of frustration.
He was about to turn into a woman soon, yet he still had to live in a dorm full of guys… Luckily, the change should only affect his body, not his appearance too much.
As long as no one saw him squatting in the bathroom or accidentally walked in while he was showering, there shouldn’t be a big problem.
The only thing that worried him was that after becoming female, his body might release stronger feminine hormones…
“If you live alone outside and something happens, I’m the one who has to take responsibility, you know that?” Ren Chi scolded, still using his “I’m saying this for your own good” tone.
“I know…”
Just then, the broadcast came on: “Contestants for the three-legged race, please gather at the 100-meter starting line.”
An Han lifted his head and saw Su Peng walking toward the starting line, and right behind him, following with small steps, was An Kexin.
His eyes narrowed slightly, and his lips curled in disdain.
Damn it! That jerk!
He forced a kiss on me, and now he’s flirting with another girl?!
Ren Chi also noticed Su Peng and nodded in satisfaction. “Looks like they’re doing fine without you.”
“……”
Those words made An Han’s eyes grow even colder as he looked at Su Peng.
[Mission complete. Reward: Advanced Mind Reading Skill]
The referee was checking the contestants, and the system notification appeared to confirm the mission’s completion.
An Han didn’t care about any new “magic skill.” His eyes were locked on Su Peng in the distance, and his fingers unconsciously pressed hard against his thigh.
“Ow! Why are you pinching my leg?” Ren Chi shouted, stepping back quickly.
“Pinching my own leg would hurt.”
“You’ve got no respect for your advisor!”
Ren Chi glared at him, then walked away.
Looks like his affection in the sixties was still enough for Ren Chi to not truly get mad. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have joked even after being pinched.
An Han’s eyes remained fixed on Su Peng. He saw Su Peng and An Kexin tie their legs together and stand at the center of the track with the other contestants, ready to start.
That spot was supposed to be mine…
Suddenly, he felt a pang of regret.
