Chapter 126: Experiment!
An Han was in a terrible mood.
She sat on the bleachers by the sports field, staring blankly ahead, completely ignoring Su Peng, who kept bothering her.
Even though she tried to stay calm, her mind was still filled with anxiety and the question that was getting harder to ignore.
What should I do from now on?
She had never lived as a woman before.
She had never received any kind of “female education.”
Her family and friends would never understand why she suddenly changed gender.
Their son goes to college for one semester and comes back as a delicate little girl…
Just imagining her mother’s shocked and disbelieving face made An Han even more anxious. Her right leg kept bouncing nervously, and there was a dark, heavy look between her brows that she couldn’t get rid of.
Should I just tell Mom the truth?
But that “system” thing was too unreal, what happened to her made no sense at all. It wasn’t something that could be explained scientifically.
Maybe when the time came, the system would give her a mission to help solve the problem?
That thought only made her more uneasy. Who knew what kind of embarrassing or humiliating tasks that stupid system might force her to do next!
“Hey… did something happen to you?” Su Peng asked carefully after watching her for a while.
You’re the damn reason I’m in this mess! And you’re still asking?!
If she weren’t weaker than him, An Han would’ve already jumped up and pinned Su Peng to the ground for a good beating.
She turned her head away, refusing to answer.
But honestly, Su Peng was also a victim of that system. If she hadn’t turned into a girl in time, his sexual orientation might have already gone completely off track.
So… does liking a boy who looks like a girl count as being gay?
“Hey!” An Han finally couldn’t hold back anymore and asked, “What’s going on between you and An Kexin now?”
“Just ordinary friends.”
“Yeah right, I don’t believe you.”
Even though she said that, deep down, An Han preferred to believe that they really were just friends. Or maybe… it was a one-sided crush from An Kexin.
Poor An Kexin, not even as attractive as a boy like me.
Trying to shake off her anxious thoughts, An Han forced herself to keep talking, hoping to distract herself.
“Do you still have more matches later?”
“No, I’m done. I can stay with you.”
“Who wants you to stay with me?”
She realized that Su Peng couldn’t go three sentences without flirting! Any normal girl would probably fall for it, but An Han knew this guy was just lusting after her body. Shameless!
Right now, Long Xing’s affection toward her had finally dropped to a safe level. But since he was the “love at first sight” type, if he ever saw her in women’s clothes again, that affection would shoot right back up.
Meanwhile, Su Peng, with his triple-digit affection score, had already started making moves on her. An Han wasn’t like other girls, she felt deeply uncomfortable about it and just found him annoying.
But in the future… who knows? Right now, she was grumpy because of her period.
Once it ended, if Su Peng kept flirting, that affection-driven attraction might actually make her heart waver.
“I have to move out!” An Han made up her mind.
“Why?”
“Because you’re annoying!”
She didn’t bother hiding her dislike, hoping that being so blunt would make his affection drop below 100. But Su Peng only smiled like it didn’t matter at all.
If I can get his affection below triple digits, she thought, then he’ll remember I’m supposed to be a guy and stop coming on to me like this.
“The counselor won’t let you move out,” Su Peng said, crossing one leg over the other. His eyes looked straight ahead, but his gaze kept sneaking toward An Han.
The more he looked, the more he felt that An Han had to be a girl. Not just because of that delicate face, but also because of what looked like a developing chest and, of course, the fact that she bought sanitary pads.
“I have a way,” An Han said.
That “way” was her newly acquired mind-reading ability!
When she went to negotiate with Ren Chi about moving out, she could use mind reading to know exactly what he was thinking, and adjust her words on the spot. Even if that didn’t guarantee success, it would definitely make her chances a lot higher.
But first, she needed someone to test it on…
Otherwise, if she didn’t understand how mind reading worked, she might mess things up later.
Su Peng suddenly felt a chill run down his back, goosebumps rising on his arms. He turned to see An Han staring at him with a mischievous, almost evil look. Immediately, his guard shot up.
“What are you planning this time?”
Was it another one of her weird pranks?
“Nothing.”
He noticed that so fast?!
An Han’s heart sank, but she didn’t give up.
System, activate Mind Reading!
She felt something inside her being slowly drawn out, gathering in her brain. A cool sensation spread through her head, and then a message appeared.
[Target is too alert. Failed.]
“……”
An Han twitched her lips slightly. So it only works when the person isn’t on guard?
At least the failure didn’t cause any bad side effects. She quickly adjusted her mood and flashed a bright, playful smile, her big eyes sparkling.
“Let’s walk around together?”
“You really…” Su Peng sighed helplessly.
Her emotions changed faster than flipping a page!
But whenever she acted like this, it usually meant she was planning some prank again. He’d better stay cautious.
The two of them stood up from the bleachers. Seeing Su Peng’s worried expression made An Han even happier. Watching someone else suffer was the best cure for a bad mood.
Su Peng teased, “See? You really do look prettier when you smile. Look at the face you had before.”
An Han had been smiling sweetly, trying to lower his guard, but the moment he said that, her smile froze.
Wait… that’s right. I was just feeling so anxious and depressed, not wanting to do anything, so why did my mood suddenly lift after just a few words with him? Why am I suddenly motivated again?
Her face darkened.
When Su Peng’s hormones had influenced her before, at least she could feel it happening.
But now? It was happening subtly, without any warning at all!
This is terrifying! If it keeps going like this, one day I might actually give in without even realizing it!
“You switch moods faster than turning a page,” Su Peng muttered.
Once I get permission from the counselor to live off-campus, I’ll never deal with this guy again!
But for now, she needed him, to understand the risks and limits of mind reading.
She calmed her face and said evenly, “Let’s go. There should be a relay race happening now, right?”
While Su Peng watched the game, she would use mind reading again, he’d never notice.
I wonder what he really thinks about me… what kind of person I am in his mind…
Strangely, she felt nervous. What if she heard some embarrassing thoughts? If this guy really liked her, his thoughts were probably… not fit to hear.
She knew men well enough. When it came to pretty girls, most of their inner thoughts could probably get them arrested.
Good thing morals and the law existed.
