Chapter 134: Man! Pervert!
With one seat between her and Su Peng, An Han finally felt relieved.
She reached out to take the chewing gum he handed her and slowly focused on the movie.
Snacks, gum, cola.
An Han’s hands didn’t stop moving. She chewed the gum for only a few minutes before spitting it out into a tissue, then grabbed handfuls of fries and popcorn to stuff into her mouth.
She didn’t care whether the movie was good or not. At least she would be full when she left the theater.
As the movie went on, An Han occasionally glanced at Su Peng. Seeing that he still didn’t make any strange moves, she gradually relaxed. Half lying back in her seat, yawning one after another. She hadn’t been sleeping well these past few days.
After suddenly turning into a girl, she had to act cheerful and lively around her roommates and friends during the day, but at night, she would lie awake, thinking gloomily about her future.
That constant anxiety kept her from sleeping. She probably hadn’t slept more than three hours each night. Yet she still had to keep up a bright face during the day so her roommates wouldn’t worry...
As she stared at the movie screen, her eyelids began to fight to stay open. Now that she no longer feared Su Peng would touch her, a strange sense of calm and comfort slowly filled her heart...
“Do you want more gum?”
Su Peng looked at the screen and casually reached out to hand her another piece.
When he didn’t get a response for a while, he turned his head and realized that at some point, An Han had taken off her shoes, tucked her legs up on the chair, curled herself into a ball, and fallen fast asleep.
Even in sleep, she was still hugging two popcorn buckets in her arms. She was small to begin with, and curled up like that, she looked tiny, cute, and somehow a little pitiful.
Su Peng sighed softly, pulled his hand back, and carefully sat down beside her.
He muttered quietly, “Taking off your shoes in public… no manners at all.”
He took off his light jacket, quietly removed the popcorn buckets from her arms, and gently covered her with the jacket.
“Sleep well.”
A quick glance at his watch told him there was still about an hour left in the movie.
Su Peng turned his attention back to the screen. It was a really good film, funny and exciting, the kind that could easily keep someone awake. But An Han was sound asleep.
“It’s such a good movie, and she actually fell asleep,” he mumbled softly.
He didn’t really feel like watching anymore. His gaze wandered back to An Han’s sleeping face, and he just stared blankly at her.
Thinking back, he couldn’t even tell when he had started liking her.
Maybe it was something that grew over time… or maybe it was that tomboyish side of hers that just happened to hit his type.
Absentmindedly, he reached out and gently brushed his fingers over An Han’s cheek in the dark.
The soft, smooth touch brought him a strange sense of satisfaction.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he pulled his hand back, leaned against the seat, and silently watched her sleep. His heart felt peaceful and calm until the lights in the theater came back on.
Even then, An Han still didn’t wake up. The staff had already come in to clean the place for the next screening.
With no other choice, Su Peng leaned over and gently shook her shoulder.
“Wake up, the movie’s over.”
“An Han, wake up.”
“Don’t bother me~” she murmured in a soft, cat-like voice, not moving at all.
Seeing the staff already standing nearby, Su Peng hesitated for a moment and said,
“Then I guess I’ll have to carry you.”
When she didn’t respond, he sighed, slid one arm under her neck and the other under her knees, and lifted her up into his arms.
An Han was startled awake by the strong movement, but her mind was still foggy. Instinctively, she leaned her head against the warmest shoulder nearby.
The light was a bit too bright, so she buried her face into Su Peng’s shoulder, her fingers clutching tightly at his collar.
The warmth of his body, the faint masculine scent, and his broad shoulders. Together, they quickly lulled her back into a steady, peaceful sleep.
“You... don’t you ever sleep at night?”
Su Peng slowed his steps, careful not to wake her as he walked steadily down the stairs and out of the cinema.
He had to admit, An Han’s body was incredibly soft. She smelled faintly of milk, and even her breathing carried a hint of sweetness. She didn’t even weigh 100 pounds, so for Su Peng, who had trained in fighting since childhood and had plenty of strength, carrying her was no problem at all.
He found a quiet corner to sit down and looked after her gently, almost like taking care of a baby. Still, he couldn’t stop himself from muttering complaints.
“You sleep this deeply outside, if I were a bad guy, you’d have been kidnapped long ago.”
“And here I thought you were so cautious around me.”
Su Peng lowered his head, his gaze falling on her soft pink lips. But just as a strange thought crossed his mind, the person in his arms stirred slightly.
He immediately looked up, just in time to see her long eyelashes tremble as her eyes slowly opened.
An Han never imagined that the first thing she would see upon waking up would be a face, one that filled her entire vision. She stared blankly, meeting Su Peng’s eyes in disbelief. Then she realized, she was leaning against his chest.
His arms were… surprisingly comfortable…
Still half-asleep, her mind was a bit slow to react. She quickly shook away the thought, sat up straight, got off his lap, and stepped back a few paces, taking a deep breath.
Her face flushed red almost instantly. The heat on her cheeks helped her mind clear a little.
“How was your nap?” Su Peng teased. “Comfortable?”
“......”
An Han took a moment to make sense of the situation. She rubbed the corners of her tired eyes and ignored him.
“Let’s go. Time to head back to school.”
“You... wait, don’t you think this is weird?” She finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. “You carried me and let me sleep in your arms, in public! Aren’t you ashamed? Two guys, seriously!”
“I tried to wake you, but you wouldn’t move,” Su Peng said with a shrug. “And the staff were rushing us. Besides, you sleep like a cat, it’s kind of cute.”
“You couldn’t have called me a few more times!?”
Her face, already bright red, turned an even deeper shade, like it was bleeding from embarrassment. Furious and flustered, An Han turned away and marched toward the mall exit.
People were walking everywhere and she had been sitting there asleep in a man’s arms for who knows how long!
Covering her face with one hand, she couldn’t even lift her head from embarrassment.
Luckily, they were all strangers. No one would ever guess she was actually a boy...
Su Peng must really like men! His sense of what’s normal had to be messed up! He didn’t care at all about what people thought!
But... maybe he really did see her as a girl now.
Realizing that, An Han turned around sharply to look at him.
“What?” he asked.
With a serious face, she said firmly, “Even if I look like a girl right now, don’t forget, I’m a guy! What you just did was perverted, got it?”
She had to remind him before he did anything even worse in the future.
Su Peng froze for a second. If he followed her logic, then doing something like that to a guy was what made it perverted… but An Han was a girl.
He suddenly understood and smiled as he nodded.
“Got it.”
