Chapter 135: The Restless Longxing
On the way back to school, Su Peng kept wondering if An Han’s words earlier meant she actually wanted him to be a bit more assertive, like playing hard to get.
That blushing face and that soft, shy tone... it really did seem like it.
But ever since they got back, An Han had completely ignored him. She looked obviously upset.
“I was actually planning for us to eat together before heading back,” he sighed, rubbing his temples.
Sometimes, it really felt like An Han liked him too. Whenever he got close, she’d blush and look shy. But then, she’d always run away from him like he was a ghost.
Girls’ thoughts were just impossible to understand.
“Eating at the cafeteria?” Su Peng quickened his pace to catch up with her.
“I’m packing food to eat at the dorm,” An Han replied, glancing at her phone. “My ‘sons’ are probably starving already.”
She tried her best to act calm, as if she’d already forgotten everything that happened earlier.
But she still couldn’t figure it out, why was Su Peng getting so bold toward another man?
Back when his affection level was around ninety, even though Su Peng clearly liked her, he never dared to show it.
He didn’t confess, didn’t let anyone find out. Even now, with his affection level maxed at one hundred, the most he should be doing was maybe a private confession or dating secretly.
Even that forced kiss before, at least he had the sense to drag her into an empty alley first! But now?
These past two days, Su Peng had started trying to hold her hand, treating her more and more like a girlfriend, and he didn’t even seem to care that they were both “men.”
Could it be... that Su Peng somehow found out she’s actually a girl?
That thought came up again, but no matter how much she tried, An Han just couldn’t figure out how he could’ve learned the truth.
She packed four portions of lunch at the cafeteria, then stopped by the small store next door to buy two bottles of cold Coke.
Su Peng’s eyes fell on the Coke, and he hesitated to speak. Even though she hadn’t shown any reaction to cold drinks before, he still worried that if she kept this up, she’d end up with bad period cramps someday.
“Let’s go,” An Han said.
“Can’t you stop drinking cold stuff?” he finally asked.
“It’s summer. What else am I supposed to drink?” An Han said flatly, walking past him toward the dorms.
Su Peng followed behind quietly, not pressing the issue any further. But his gaze kept drifting, to the smooth legs showing under her shorts, and then unconsciously to the way her hips moved slightly as she walked.
The shorts were loose, but the fabric around her hips was lifted and stretched, outlining her small but round shape. If only her top had been tighter, it would’ve shown off her waist and hips even better.
“Su Peng…”
“Hm?”
An Han turned around, her expression dark. “What the hell is wrong with you!?”
“What? What did I do?”
Don’t think I can’t tell you’ve been staring back there, you creep!
Your gaze is practically burning holes in me!
She turned to glance over her shoulder, lips pressed tightly together, then sped up her pace toward the dorms.
This morning, those shorts fit perfectly fine. But now they were so tight it felt like she was wearing yoga pants!
Damn it! Pervert!
If a normal friend did something like that, they’d at least say something, not just silently stare!
An Han glared at him furiously. Su Peng could only give a helpless, innocent smile in return.
Her body stats had grown a bit again. Once she got back to the dorm, she planned to take a good look and figure out which part had developed and which part had become more attractive to men.
Lost in her thoughts, An Han quickly arrived at her dorm door. Without greeting Su Peng, who was heading to the next room, she adjusted her mood a little, grinned, and kicked the door open.
“Kids! Your dad brought food home!”
“Holy crap! I’m starving to death!”
Chen Junjie quickly stood up from his computer, poked his head forward, and asked, “What did you buy? Let me pick first!”
“What’s the rush!”
With a swaggering walk, An Han carried the lunch boxes to her desk, lined up the four meals neatly, and enjoyed the admiring looks from her three roommates. Then she pushed one box toward Wang Sheng.
“Your fried noodles.”
“I ordered fried rice,” Wang Sheng said, looking confused.
“Be happy you’ve got food at all!”
An Han didn’t sound the least bit sorry. She then waved to Long Xing.
“Brother Long! Got you a Coke!”
“Thanks!” Long Xing turned around, leaning back in his chair as he caught the Coke she tossed.
“Dad, what dishes did you get?” Chen Junjie kept peeking at the lunch boxes.
“Two meat dishes and one vegetable, like you said.”
An Han opened the boxes, showing the food inside. “You two can pick whatever. I already took what I like.”
Stretching lazily, she walked toward the balcony. “Don’t forget to send me the money.”
Although helping her roommates buy lunch was a bit troublesome, seeing their excited, hungry faces when she got back always gave her a strange sense of satisfaction. Especially Chen Junjie, his mouth was annoying most of the time, but moments like this made him unexpectedly likable.
After using the bathroom and washing her face, An Han looked up and found that Long Xing had also come to the balcony.
“Did you like the food I bought?” she asked casually as she prepared to head back inside.
“Wait a sec.”
An Han turned around, surprised. “What is it?”
Her heart suddenly skipped a beat. She quickly asked the system in her mind.
[Long Xing: Favorability 82]
Huh?! When did that happen? Why did it go up again? Is this what they call falling for someone over time?!
Her pupils shrank slightly. She subconsciously tucked her hair behind her ear and asked cautiously, “What’s wrong?”
Long Xing hesitated, unsure how to start. Short hair, flat chest, and a lively, boyish personality. Right now, An Han almost perfectly matched his type. But for some reason, he’d been feeling that she seemed more and more like a girl lately. Not just in appearance, but in the way she carried herself. He could no longer see her as a man.
“You… you…” He rubbed his head in frustration. “Why are you becoming more and more like a girl?”
An Han resisted the urge to run away and kept her face calm. “It’s not like I want to look like a girl.”
“But… it’s not just about looks.”
Maybe after turning into a woman, something else besides appearance had changed.
Like stronger female hormones… which might be why she was becoming more attractive to men?
Thinking that, An Han smiled and teased, “Brother Long, don’t tell me you’ve fallen for me?”
“N-no!” Long Xing quickly shook his head in panic.
As expected. With a favorability of only eighty-something, there’s no way he’d admit it.
Good. That means I can still mess with him a little.
“Brother Long! I hate gay guys the most! It’s super disgusting!” she said with a disgusted look. “Good thing you’re not one.”
It was like a thousand arrows pierced Long Xing’s heart. He stood there, frozen.
Nice. A critical hit.
Relieved, An Han hurried back into the dorm to eat her lunch.
At least now, Long Xing probably wouldn’t act bold and straightforward toward her like Su Peng did. Having another one like that would really be a headache.
