Chapter 142: Su Peng’s Embarrassing Past

They didn’t go to the obstetrics department. Instead, they went straight to the gynecology department.

And seriously, it was so freaking embarrassing!

“Sit up, lie down, and open your legs.”

When the doctor said that, An Han completely froze.

Ever since she turned into a woman, she had never really studied her new “equipment.” Even when she took showers, she just quickly washed with soap, rinsed with water, and wiped herself dry, never looked too closely.

But this check-up… the doctor examined her thoroughly, inside and out, before calmly declaring her body was perfectly healthy.

Damn it!

Why didn’t she think about what kind of exam this would be before coming here?

She thought it would be like the regular school check-ups she used to have since childhood!

By the end of the exam, she felt like she had just lived through one of those hospital scenes from some adult-only anime.

Thankfully, the female doctor had been completely professional. Expressionless and serious, as if she were just inspecting a piece of machinery. It was only An Han’s own mind that was full of messy, embarrassing thoughts.

When she finally walked out of the examination room, her face was bright red, as if it could drip blood.

Su Peng, who had been waiting outside, came running up eagerly.

“How was it? What did they say?”

“……”

“Why is your face so red?”

An Han looked at his face, took a deep breath, and tried her best to suppress the flood of shame surging inside her.

She told herself, ‘It’s fine. Every girl has to go through a gynecological exam someday.’

“I heard… unmarried women don’t really need to do a gynecological check-up…”

“Really? Well, since we’re already here, might as well do everything,” Su Peng said cheerfully, pulling out a list. “There are still quite a few tests left.”

An Han’s eyelid twitched, she regretted agreeing to Su Peng’s suggestion to come for a check-up more and more.

“Come on, let’s go to the next one.”

There were a lot of people at the hospital that weekend, but somehow Su Peng seemed to know someone. Every time, she got to skip the line and go straight in.

This damn system of connections!

She dragged her feet, trying to stall for time. The last thing she wanted was another humiliating exam like the one she just had.

“If we don’t finish today, we can come again next week,” Su Peng said, noticing her reluctance.

“Then let’s go home now!” she said quickly.

“But that means we’ll have to come again next week. Wouldn’t it be better to finish everything today?”

An Han frowned and puffed her cheeks in protest. “But most of these tests aren’t even necessary.”

“The doctor said they are.”

Yeah right, which doctor said that?!

She sighed helplessly and followed behind Su Peng, cutting the line again to enter another examination room.

This awful, connection-based society!

I don’t even want to cut in line! What’s wrong with just waiting my turn?!

She couldn’t even stall until the doctors got off work…

Su Peng stood outside in the hallway, arms crossed, waiting with nothing to do. And as he waited, his mind started to wander.

Her body’s looking better and better these days…

Bored, he began to picture An Han’s figure in his mind. Even though the weather was cold and she was bundled up, he could still tell. Her chest had grown fuller, and her once-flat backside was now rounder and more shapely.

Her proportions seemed more attractive too. Her legs looked longer, the curve from her hips to her thighs smoother…

“Xiao Peng.”

The sudden voice snapped Su Peng out of his thoughts. He looked up to see an older man in a white doctor’s coat walking toward him.

“Uncle.”

Su Peng quickly put on a polite smile, though his body stiffened slightly.

Since he was a kid, Su Peng had been beaten up by his uncle more times than he could count…

Su Zhiguo was tall and thin, but he stood perfectly straight and walked with firm, powerful steps. He came right up to Su Peng, glanced at his nephew’s awkward smile, then turned his head toward the examination room door.

“Girlfriend?” he asked.

“Kind of?” Su Peng replied, sounding a bit guilty.

He felt that his relationship with An Han was still somewhere between best friends and lovers. Mostly because her attitude toward him kept changing. Otherwise, he would’ve already made his move.

Before the uncle and nephew could talk much, An Han opened the examination room door and walked out looking exhausted.

She walked straight up to Su Peng, rested her forehead weakly against his shoulder, and muttered, “Can we go home? I’m so tired…”

“How can you be tired from a check-up?”

“My heart is tired~” she sighed dramatically, ready to use her cute, childish voice to act spoiled, but then she noticed there was a doctor standing beside Su Peng, staring right at her.

An Han froze. She had thought he was just another passing doctor, but from the looks of it, he seemed to know Su Peng.

She quickly stopped her little act, straightened her posture, and smiled politely.

“Hello, uncle. I’m Su Peng’s classmate. Thank you for helping with the check-up today.”

Even though she called him uncle, the man looked old enough to be her grandfather.

“Mm.”

At that moment, Su Peng leaned close and whispered in her ear, “That’s my uncle, he’s the hospital director.”

His breath brushed against her ear, making her earlobe turn red almost instantly.

Her smile stiffened a little. She lowered her eyes respectfully and glanced at Su Zhiguo, only to find that the old man was still seriously studying her.

This old man looks really strict!

Did he misunderstand and think I’m Su Peng’s girlfriend?

That kind of misunderstanding was common. In front of elders, even chatting casually with a random girl could make them smile knowingly and start imagining things.

Still, this kind of misunderstanding was easy to fix. One quick explanation from Su Peng would do it.

“You’ve got good taste,” Su Zhiguo finally said with a small, kind smile. “But what do you even see in this kid?”

Yes! That was the perfect moment to explain!

An Han looked at Su Peng expectantly. But instead, he just grinned and joked, “Uncle, what’s that supposed to mean? What’s so wrong with me?”

“I don’t even want to start talking about your past nonsense.”

Su Zhiguo shot him a glare and walked away down the hall.

Su Peng finally relaxed, but when he turned around, he saw An Han glaring at him angrily.

“When I was younger, I did some stupid things,” Su Peng said quickly, putting on a flattering smile. “I used to hang out with some small-time thugs, but it’s nothing serious. I’ve changed for the better now!”

“Who wants to hear about your stupid past?”

An Han had no interest in Su Peng’s so-called black history.

She took a deep breath. “Why didn’t you just explain things clearly to your uncle?”

Seeing what she was mad about, Su Peng looked surprised, then smiled and said, “It’s fine. It’s only a matter of time anyway.”

So that’s how it is, huh? You already think I’m yours?

An Han realized that maybe she had given Su Peng too many benefits lately, too many chances for him to get close.

That’s what happens when I let my guard down!

She went quiet for a moment, reminding herself once again that she must limit how close she got to him from now on.

[Mind Reading can now be used]

At that moment, the system prompt appeared.

The magic power was finally gathered. On Monday, she could ask Ren Chi for off-campus permission, and after that, she could reduce her contact with Su Peng as much as possible.

Pressing her lips together, An Han started walking toward the next examination room.

But after a few steps, she suddenly turned around. Su Peng nearly bumped right into her and quickly stepped back in panic.

“Tell me all about that black history of yours,” she said.

She just couldn’t resist her burning curiosity.
