Chapter 95: A Man Should Be More Confident

An Han stood with his back to his two roommates, nervously pressing his legs together while anxiously listening to their voices behind him. He was terrified that even if Chen Junjie only glanced his way from a distance, he might recognize who he really was.

But… it seemed like he hadn’t.

An Han secretly turned his head to take a quick peek at the two of them, then immediately lowered it again in panic. If Chen Junjie recognized him dressed like this, it would be the ultimate social death!

“Brother Long, this girl’s waist is really slim.”

Hearing Chen Junjie’s admiring tone, An Han hung his head even lower. His shame grew stronger. But oddly, he also felt a bit proud.

Normally, that guy never stopped running his mouth whenever they met. But today, he actually said something nice!

“Hey, Brother Long, what does her face look like? Don’t tell me she’s one of those ‘back-view beauties’ who only look good from behind?”

Your whole family are back-view beauties!

“Let’s go. Nothing much to see here,” Long Xing said, pulling Chen Junjie away.

“What do you mean? You like this girl, don’t you? Go ask for her WeChat!”

“When did I say I like her?”

Chen Junjie teased, “Come on, that reaction you just had. If that’s not liking her, what is?”

Long Xing kept his head down and dragged him away, afraid Chen Junjie might somehow find out that the same person had made him fall for their female look twice.

Still, he had to admit, An Han’s makeup and outfit this time were dangerously attractive. Compared to his previous attempts at crossdressing, this version looked so much better it wasn’t even close.

If before he could only be called “average,” then now, with makeup, outfit, and figure combined, he could easily score an eight out of ten!

Well… minus a few points for having a small chest and a body that still looked a little too youthful.

Damn it, and he’s still a guy?! If An Han were a woman, he’d be absolutely stunning!

As they were about to walk farther away, Long Xing couldn’t help glancing back one last time. The “girl” in the tight cheongsam finally turned around and his eyes landed right on An Han’s chest.

Wait… he actually has a chest?!

The tight-fitting cheongsam perfectly outlined that small but noticeable curve. It was so tiny that even grabbing it probably wouldn’t count as harassment. In fact, Long Xing’s own chest muscles were bigger than An Han’s.

Once his two roommates finally walked away, An Han let out a long sigh of relief. The blush on his face slowly faded a little.

He looked down at his outfit and sighed again. And there’s still a whole day left…

The air conditioning in the hall was a bit too cold. His legs felt chilly and uncomfortable.

The skirt was way too short, and with the side slit made for easier movement, he constantly felt like he might accidentally expose himself. Even though he was wearing boyshorts underneath, it still made him feel nervous.

“An Han~” Lin Yi walked up to him, smiling playfully. “Your roommate seems to really like your girl look.”

“Don’t even mention it…”

An Han hung his head low and said weakly, “I told you I didn’t want to wear makeup, but you said if I did, even people who know me wouldn’t recognize me!”

If Lin Yi hadn’t talked him into it, he would’ve never agreed to wear makeup. But somehow, even after all that effort, Long Xing still recognized him instantly.

He pulled out his phone and looked at himself with the front camera, still unable to figure out how Long Xing saw through it.

He was clearly wearing makeup and a wig. There wasn’t a trace of his usual male look left.

It didn’t even resemble his earlier crossdressing styles.

Sure, maybe there was still a faint trace of his real self in his eyebrows or expression, but it definitely shouldn’t have been that obvious.

“Stop spacing out.”

“Oh… okay…” An Han lifted his head, his expression full of confusion.

At some point, two men had appeared in front of him, holding up their phones and taking pictures.

“Miss! Do a pose!” one of them said excitedly.

An Han froze up, stiff and unsure of what to do or whether he should listen to them.

Meanwhile, Lin Yi had already placed her hand gently on his shoulder and leaned in slightly, smiling sweetly toward the two men. Her movements were smooth and practiced. It was clear she was already used to this kind of situation.

An Han could only force a small smile. His shy, blushing look made the two men even more excited.

Even though the spot was a bit out of the way, as soon as An Han and Lin Yi, two “beautiful girls”, appeared together, more and more people began to gather. Soon, the entire booth was surrounded by a crowd.

With no way to escape, An Han had no choice but to keep posing for photos. Over time, he started to relax a little.

The people around them were enthusiastic, but they weren’t rude. Even the ones standing closest stayed two or three meters away. Some just took pictures, while others happily chatted about hanfu and cheongsam as they walked into the store behind them.

Listening to the conversations around him, An Han’s smile for the photos started to feel stiff. But somehow, his mood was getting better and better. The shyness and embarrassment he felt at the start slowly faded away as he worked together with Lin Yi, posing one after another for the cameras.

During a short break, he quietly asked Lin Yi, “A cheongsam doesn’t really count as hanfu, right? Also… selling clothes like this at a cosplay event feels kind of weird.”

“A lot of people who like cosplay also like hanfu,” Lin Yi explained casually. “The cheongsam is a new product the boss just added. You know, trying to expand the business. What if it gets popular?”

“I see… uh, where’s the bathroom?”

Lin Yi suddenly turned to him with a teasing smile. “Are you going to the men’s room or the women’s room?”

“The men’s, I guess?”

In a place like this, even if a guy dressed as a girl went into the men’s restroom, no one would really care. At most, they’d just be surprised and say something like, “Wow, that crossdresser looks amazing!”

“You’d better go to the women’s restroom!” Lin Yi whispered. “Don’t let the boss find out you’re a guy. Just turn the corner up ahead, and you’ll see it.”

An Han looked up at the crowd of people standing all around him. After hesitating for a moment, he lowered his head and started walking carefully toward them.

“Excuse me, could you please let me through?” he said softly.

As he gently moved his arm to make space, the people around him quickly and politely stepped aside, watching him leave while whispering among themselves.

“She’s so cute.”

“Yeah, she’s pretty, but kind of flat.”

“She looks like it’s her first time doing this. Seems really shy.”

“Her legs are amazing though! Too bad she’s wearing safety shorts.”

Hearing their comments, An Han didn’t show any reaction. His face stayed blank as he thought to himself, ‘If these guys saw me pull out eighteen centimeters, I’d love to see their faces then.’

And those aren’t safety shorts! They’re just underwear, the kind you guys probably wish you could see!

Even though he still felt embarrassed, An Han couldn’t deny that he actually enjoyed hearing those compliments. A strange sense of pride welled up inside him, a feeling like he had just conquered a group of men.

That pride triggered a rush of dopamine, putting him in a surprisingly good mood.

But when he finally reached the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror, he suddenly snapped out of it.

What the hell am I so happy about?! I was being stared at by a bunch of guys! Shouldn’t that feel disgusting and humiliating?!

He splashed cold water on his face several times, then looked up at his reflection. His wet face staring back from the mirror, with no trace of a male appearance left.

It’s bad enough that the system turned me into this... but that doesn’t mean my mind should turn into a pervert too!

I’m not some crossdressing freak, okay?! I’m a completely normal man!

I—

He suddenly heard footsteps behind him and instantly straightened up. Without saying a word, he turned toward the men’s restroom.

He couldn’t let fear of judgment stop him from using a public bathroom like a normal person.

After all—

A man should be confident!
