Chapter 163: Su Peng, Danger
About five or six minutes later, An Han came out of the bathroom with a towel over her head, one hand holding it in place as she wiped her wet hair.
Droplets of water slid down the ends of her hair, soaking her cheeks and the collar of her shirt. Her messy, damp hair stuck to her forehead and face, her skin slightly flushed, lips slightly open. After the shower, her skin looked smooth and white like porcelain. She looked fresh like a lotus blooming from water, with a hint of untidy charm.
Su Peng froze for a moment at the sight, then quickly snapped out of it. “That was fast.”
“What else do you expect?” An Han rubbed her hair with the towel using both hands, looking a little silly.
She sneezed, opened the back door, and walked back into the dorm. Su Peng followed behind, his eyes unconsciously glancing at her light outfit, just a T-shirt and shorts, and the clear curve of her hips as she walked.
“You always walk around like this after a shower…?”
“Only because there’s no one else in the dorm today. Normally, I put my clothes on in the bathroom before coming out.” She rolled her eyes at him. “I didn’t bring a jacket or long pants in, how was I supposed to know you’d climb over the balcony?”
She quickly threw on a jacket, plopped down in front of the computer, and grabbed the hair dryer, blowing her hair in a messy, random way.
“Why do you even care what I wear after a shower?” she muttered, leaning back in her chair and crossing one leg over the other, using her free hand to comb through her wet hair as the dryer roared.
Su Peng stood nearby with his arms crossed, just watching her side profile silently.
“If you’ve got nothing to do, then leave already. I still need to wash my clothes,” she said, her voice full of annoyance. She always felt uneasy and on guard when he was around.
“Want me to help you wash them?” he offered.
“Oh? The young master actually knows how to do laundry?” An Han teased, turning to look at him. “Don’t you just use the washing machine?”
Su Peng paused. “I mean, I can put them in the washing machine for you.”
“Forget it. The school washing machines are disgusting.”
After finding out that some dormmates threw everything, like underwear, socks, and clothes, into the same washer, An Han refused to use it ever again.
Sure, she could understand people being lazy, but who knew what other gross things other students did?
After a few more minutes, her right arm holding the dryer started to ache. She put it down, shook her hand, and touched her half-dry hair.
Su Peng immediately saw his chance to act helpful. “Want me to blow-dry it for you?”
“Get lost! Stay at least one meter away from me!”
“......”
An Han didn’t care whether her words hurt Su Peng’s pride. If they did, that would actually make her happier. What she really didn’t want was him getting too close, because then she might accidentally fall for it again.
But Su Peng acted as if he hadn’t heard her. He walked right up, picked up the hair dryer from the table, and—
“Hey!” An Han protested, but before she could do anything, his hand was already pressing down gently on her head.
“If your hair’s still wet when you go to sleep, you might catch a cold,” Su Peng said seriously. He carefully parted her hair and started drying it strand by strand, talking while he worked. “Relax, I’m good at this. Back in high school, I was quite conscious about my looks and spent half an hour every morning styling my hair.”
That sudden, forceful attitude again! It caught her completely off guard, she didn’t even have time to refuse or escape.
She tried to resist, moving her head restlessly, but he held her steady.
“Don’t move,” Su Peng said in a calm, serious tone, different from his usual gentle one.
It reminded her of the scary look he had when he was angry before, and she immediately shrank her neck and stopped struggling, sitting there obediently like a scolded duck.
Well… since she was the one being taken care of, maybe it wasn’t such a bad deal after all.
And tomorrow, she could finally get back at Su Peng!
She would dress up beautifully and make that girl feel ashamed of herself! She’d spill some of Su Peng’s embarrassing stories, maybe even expose some of his little secrets…
Tomorrow! She had to make Su Peng completely lose face in front of his blind date!
That girl was probably someone connected to his parents, so once they heard about how the date went, Su Peng would definitely get scolded badly by them too!
Just imagining Su Peng’s dark, gloomy face made An Han feel a wave of satisfaction.
And the best part was… he was the one who invited her to go with him! Even if the whole thing went wrong, he wouldn’t be able to blame her for it.
“All done.”
An Han was startled. She quickly pushed all those bad thoughts out of her head, as if Su Peng could somehow read her mind if she hesitated even a second longer.
“How is it?” he asked.
“It’s just drying hair. As long as it’s dry, it’s fine.”
She ran her fingers through her now smooth hair without caring how it looked, yawned, and stood up to go wash her clothes on the balcony.
Inside the bathroom, she lifted a bucket full of clothes and walked over to the sink. Just as she was about to take out her underwear, she turned her head sharply and glared at Su Peng.
“What?” he asked.
“I’m washing clothes.”
“Okay?”
“Underwear!”
“I still have a few sets of your underwear at my place.”
“......”
He was right. There wasn’t really a reason to be shy. After all, every piece of underwear she wore had already picked up his scent long before she put it on.
Wait, that sounded awful… Like Su Peng had done something weird with them.
Su Peng found her embarrassed but pretending-to-be-calm look absolutely adorable. Smiling, he stood to the side and watched as she took out her underwear to wash. Without thinking, he commented, “You’re actually kinda cute.”
An Han glared at him in embarrassment and anger. “I think you’re sexually harassing me!”
“Didn’t you say you’re a man?”
“Then it’s indecent assault!”
“I didn’t even touch you…” Su Peng raised both hands to show he hadn’t laid a finger on her.
Unable to argue back, An Han sighed in defeat. “Just get out already. I have to get up early tomorrow to go on your stupid blind date.”
“If you keep annoying me, I’ll mess things up for you during the date.”
“Oh, please don’t,” Su Peng said immediately, his scalp tingling at the thought. “My blind date’s a rich young lady. She doesn’t take jokes well.”
An Han nodded thoughtfully. “Oh~”
She had only ever seen the word “young lady” in novels, but she could roughly imagine what kind of family the girl came from.
At least the daughter of a company owner… which meant, by that logic, Su Peng himself was a “young master”?
Damn capitalist!
“You’re not really planning to cause trouble, right…?” Su Peng’s face twitched. “Wait, are you seriously going?”
“Of course! If I don’t go, I’m a dog!”
When he first invited her, he only meant to tease her, just like how An Han used Wang Yu to get under his skin. He wanted to let her know that, under his parents’ pressure, he might get engaged soon, to make her feel a bit of urgency.
He thought she was joking when she said she’d come along… but it looked like she really meant it.
Danger.
Su Peng’s scalp tingled again. He had no idea what kind of chaos tomorrow’s blind date was going to turn into.
