Chapter 164: Departure

Su Peng barely slept that night.

When he woke up, his face was still full of worry. He had no idea what kind of trouble An Han might cause at his blind date today.

He had already explained to his family that he liked someone and didn’t plan to keep going on blind dates, but his parents insisted that he should at least bring “that girl, An Han” home for them to see.

But they weren’t even dating yet, not officially, anyway. Their relationship was just “pretty good.” An Han often turned cold on him out of nowhere. Her moods changed as quickly as flipping a page.

Since he couldn’t bring her home, he had no choice but to keep going with the arranged date.

Su Peng sighed softly. His parents were pressuring him, and things with An Han weren’t moving forward, it was giving him a real headache.

The others in the dorm were still asleep. Moving quietly, he went to the balcony to wash up. Then he changed into a clean white shirt, black casual pants, and threw on a light jacket. He also wore the mechanical watch his parents had given him.

Just changing his clothes made him look more mature. His tall and straight figure stood out, and the boyish air he once had seemed to fade away. In the mirror, he looked a little thin and gentle, but under that white shirt were firm, well-toned muscles. Not bulky, but strong.

“Not bad…”

Mumbling to himself, Su Peng sighed again, then walked out of the dorm still looking troubled.

He stopped at the door next to his and tried the handle, it wasn’t locked. The door swung open, and the strong smell of alcohol and smoke hit him. He frowned and stepped inside.

It really was time for An Han to move out. Letting her live in a dorm full of guys wasn’t great. Sure, that environment had given her a bit of a “guy-like” mindset, but what if she also picked up their smoking and drinking habits…

The curtains inside were still drawn. The dark room was filled with the sound of heavy snoring. When sunlight streamed in from the open door, it woke up Wang Sheng, who slept on the lower bunk.

“Who’s that? So early…” he muttered sleepily.

Su Peng looked up at the upper bunk, the blanket there was messy and tossed to the corner, but his “beloved troublemaker” was nowhere to be seen.

“Where’s An Han?”

He glanced around. Chen Junjie was also missing, and Long Xing’s bed reeked of alcohol, clearly showing that he had passed out after a party last night.

“Isn’t she sleeping?” Wang Sheng yawned and rolled over.

Su Peng sighed helplessly, went to check the balcony and peeked into the bathroom, but she wasn’t there either. He quietly stepped back out.

Could it be… An Han chickened out?

The thought suddenly flashed through his mind and his mood instantly lifted.

Yeah, that would make sense. An Han always talked big and acted tough, but when it came to actually doing things, she usually gave in.

If that’s the case, then his plan worked perfectly. He got to use the blind date to push her a little without worrying she’d actually show up and make trouble.

Feeling relieved at last, he checked his watch and hurried downstairs.

Even by car, it would take at least half an hour to reach the city center, or an hour if there was traffic. There were still two hours before the meeting time, but his nerves made him leave early anyway. Better to get out now than risk running into An Han if she came back.

He bought a bottle of cola from the campus store and jogged toward the main gate.

At the gate, there were rows of shared bicycles and electric cars. Su Peng could drive, but his family hadn’t given him his own car to keep on campus.

By the time he reached the gate, his steps slowed down, and the anxiety in his heart finally began to fade.

It seemed… An Han really had chickened out.

He walked out of the campus, scanning the roadside parking spaces for a shared electric car. But soon, his eyes were caught by a beautiful girl standing by the street.

Long, fair legs paired with a light-colored short skirt and a fitted white turtleneck jacket. Even from behind, her figure could easily beat all those heavily filtered internet models.

Her body had almost perfect proportions. Her long legs were slim and elegant, the white stockings couldn’t hide how nice they looked, and her soft, narrow waist looked especially attractive under that fitted jacket…

Su Peng’s heartbeat sped up. When the girl turned around, her curved brows lifted in a smile, and her pretty, delicate face looked very familiar.

“Su Peng!”

“......”

An Han jogged up to him, lifting her pale face proudly. Her eyes gleamed with triumph as she said, “I knew you’d try to sneak off! Caught you!”

“You—you even put on makeup?” Su Peng stammered in surprise, completely losing his usual calmness.

“Of course!” she said confidently.

With her makeup and figure combined, An Han really looked stunning.

Su Peng couldn’t help but sigh deeply, his eyes briefly sweeping over her chest. Even that fitted white jacket didn’t show much of her curves… Yeah, bigger really would be better.

Seeing his dumbfounded expression, An Han’s embarrassment from wearing women’s clothes disappeared instantly, replaced with satisfaction. Hands on her hips, she said proudly, “Let’s go!”

His reaction put her at ease. If his blind date saw him with such a pretty girl, she’d definitely feel embarrassed and lose confidence!

Though her head was full of excitement and mischief, she still felt something wasn’t quite right as things went on.

“Alright, alright, get in,” Su Peng said as he unlocked the rental car and opened the passenger door for her. “Why did you have to dress up so nicely when I’m the one going on a blind date?”

Acting casual, An Han bent down and sat in the small car, crossing her right leg over her left. Her skirt got all bunched up when she sat, and as she crossed her legs, a bit of black fabric showed.

Safety shorts...

Su Peng’s mouth twitched. “Act more ladylike, your skirt’s showing too much.”

“It’s fine, these are shorts under the skirt. I can even take off the skirt to show you.”

So they weren’t even safety shorts! He was instantly disappointed.

After circling the car twice to check its condition, Su Peng finally sat in the driver’s seat.

It was An Han’s first time in a shared electric car, and her big dark eyes looked around curiously, inspecting the inside. When Su Peng got in, she immediately asked, “That restaurant, Wolf Group Steakhouse, is it really fancy?”

“Yeah, about a thousand per person,” Su Peng said, quickly realizing what she was worried about. “Don’t worry, it’s on me.”

“Of course it’s on you! Your mentor’s coming with you on your blind date and you expect me to pay?”

Her mouth was as sharp as ever, but she looked even more excited now.

The most expensive steakhouse she’d ever been to cost maybe seventy or eighty per person, and that one had a free buffet.

“Do they have a buffet?” she asked.

“No.”

“Then what if I don’t get full? I heard fancy restaurants serve super small portions.”

Su Peng stopped the car at a red light, turned his head, and looked at her curious, innocent expression. He couldn’t help but smile.

“Don’t worry,” he said softly. “You’ll definitely get enough to eat.”
