Chapter 167: The Blind Date Turned Into a Date
An Han looked at the knowing smiles on Lin Shasha and Su Peng’s faces, then glanced at the man Lin Shasha had brought for the blind date, her mind went blank.
Wait… does this mean neither of them actually came here for a blind date?
Then what am I even doing here?
She froze in confusion for a moment, then couldn’t help tugging at Su Peng’s sleeve and quietly asked, “So… are we still going to eat steak?”
Since they were already here, and she had even dressed up nicely, she might as well have a good meal before going home. Otherwise, what a waste!
Su Peng looked down at her, seeing the starlight-like sparkle in her eyes, and nodded helplessly. “Don’t worry, I already made a reservation.”
Although they were speaking quietly, Lin Shasha still caught bits and pieces of their conversation. She glanced curiously at the foodie, then at the gentle look in Su Peng’s eyes, and suddenly understood.
“Your girlfriend?” she asked with a polite smile, walking forward gracefully.
“Uh… yeah, I guess?”
An Han had just opened her mouth to deny it, but when she looked up and saw Lin Shasha staring straight at her, she immediately shut up, lowered her head, and started fiddling with her phone like a shy kid.
Normally, she was lively and talkative around people she knew, but facing Lin Shasha now, she was so timid she didn’t even dare raise her head.
Su Peng glanced at her current look, barely holding back a laugh, and explained to Lin Shasha, “She’s just a bit shy.”
Though An Han kept her head down, she couldn’t help sneaking glances at the other woman. In real life, Lin Shasha looked just as good as in her photos. That polite smile never left her face, and the smart little blazer she wore made her look especially mature. Her features were so delicate she looked like a doll.
Just in terms of looks, An Han already couldn’t compare. And on top of that, Lin Shasha’s chest was at least three sizes bigger.
She must have gotten plastic surgery or something!
An Han grumbled to herself.
Still, this girl was short, probably not even 1.6 meters tall. Standing next to her tall male companion, who was about 1.9 meters, they looked more like a father and daughter pair.
I’d need at least two points in “body stats” and one in “appearance” to compete with her! But “body stats” isn’t just about chest size, you know…
“Don’t space out,” Su Peng said suddenly, giving her shoulder a light tap with a smile. “Time to go eat.”
“Eh? Are they coming too?”
“Of course not, I won’t interrupt your meal,” Lin Shasha replied cheerfully, shaking her head.
As she watched An Han stand up, her gaze was drawn to the pair of long legs wrapped in white stockings, a bit of envy flickered in her eyes. Those legs were as long and perfect as the ones you see online after they’ve been digitally stretched.
Lin Shasha didn’t stay any longer. After a short pause, she and her male companion left the milk tea shop.
Su Peng finally breathed a sigh of relief. The showdown he expected between An Han and the blind date never happened. In fact, neither of them even seemed interested in the blind date. So what was supposed to be a matchmaking meeting had now turned into… a date between him and An Han!
“Let’s go, time for steak.”
Hearing that, An Han instantly forgot all about Lin Shasha. Her face lit up with excitement as she nodded eagerly. “Let’s go, let’s go! Steak time!”
She followed behind Su Peng in small, lively steps, all traces of shyness gone, chatting non-stop.
“I even dressed up a bit today, but turns out she didn’t come to meet you seriously at all.”
Her mouth just wouldn’t stop moving.
“Must be because you’re too ugly, she didn’t like you.”
“Hey, do you think she really had plastic surgery? I couldn’t tell.”
“You only talked to her for a few minutes. How are you gonna explain this to your parents when you get home?”
“That Lin Shasha is really short…”
Although An Han’s mumbling was a bit noisy, Su Peng didn’t mind it at all. He kept a gentle, doting smile on his face, occasionally nodding or replying simply, “I already made a deal with her. When we go back, we’ll just say we talked for more than an hour, but neither of us liked the other.”
“Then what will you do if your family asks you to go on another blind date?”
Su Peng blurted out without thinking, “I’ll just say I already have a girlfriend and bring you home to meet them?”
“......”
“Anyway, we’ll deal with it when the time comes. At least this excuse will give me some peace for a week or two,” he added quickly when he saw that An Han didn’t respond.
[Task completed. Appearance attribute gained]
However, An Han’s attention was already on the system message that suddenly popped up.
As expected, the third option’s task was simple. She thought she’d have to fight a fierce battle with Su Peng’s blind date, but things ended so easily instead.
With this extra point in appearance, at least her facial features wouldn’t lose to Lin Shasha’s anymore. The last traces of masculine features on her face would completely disappear too.
Even though she knew rationally that she shouldn’t compare herself to other girls, her brain just couldn’t stop doing it.
She should be comparing how handsome she was with other guys, not comparing beauty with girls. But now, even if she shaved her head, people would probably think she was a nun, not a monk.
It felt like whenever she was with Su Peng, her body and mind were wrapped up in his warmth and hormones.
Whenever she wore women’s clothes, she truly felt happy inside. And now, whenever she saw other girls, she couldn’t help but want to compare herself with them.
“An Han?”
She had zoned out for a while, and Su Peng thought he might have said something to upset her.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” An Han shook her head and smiled brightly again. “I was just thinking about something.”
“I think… maybe we should go back to school instead? Let’s skip the steak?” she asked a little nervously.
“What’s wrong?”
“I just want to change my clothes quickly…”
An Han was worried that if she kept wearing women’s clothes and acting like a girl for too long, her mind would truly start becoming that of a girl’s.
She might start feeling jealous of pretty girls, liking cute dresses, enjoying dressing up, wanting to show her charm, liking men… even being okay with getting close to them physically.
Even though she was a girl right now, what if the system later gave her a reward to become male again? By then, her female mindset would resist it, and she might never be able to get used to a male body again.
“Didn’t you really want to eat steak?” Su Peng asked.
“But…” An Han lowered her head and tugged at her skirt, as if trying to make it longer to cover more of her thighs. “People keep staring at my legs…”
Su Peng glanced around and sighed. “Well, you’re pretty. Who else would they look at if not you? Look at me, I’m handsome, and girls on the street always stare at me too. I don’t feel awkward about it, right?”
Can you not be so full of yourself?!
“You’ll get used to it. Once we’re in the restaurant, no one will keep looking,” Su Peng said, clearly noticing that her excuse wasn’t the real reason.
After spending so much time together, he already knew that when An Han did something with a specific goal in mind, she’d always act a bit exaggerated.
When she wanted to prank someone, she’d show an innocent, sweet smile.
When she felt guilty, she’d act overly confident, though her eyes would dart around.
And right now, she clearly wanted to eat steak, but for some reason, she was trying to find an excuse to leave.
Could it be that she just realized this “blind date” turned into a date between them?
“Let’s go! I already paid! If you don’t eat, you’re paying me back!”
Su Peng’s tone suddenly became much firmer.
An Han blinked in surprise, confused. “You have to pay first when booking a restaurant now?”
