Chapter 175: Wang Sheng’s Spring
“I’ve become famous at school…”
“An Han, you’re too much!”
Wang Sheng lowered his head, avoiding the stares of other students, his voice filled with sorrow and anger as he scolded An Han and Long Xing for what they did that afternoon.
“Brother Long, you too! Why did you join in! Helping the bad guy, huh?”
“I was just worried about your love life,” An Han replied with a teasing smile.
“You just wanted to see me embarrassed!”
That evening, the group walked out of the boys’ dorm, heading to a restaurant outside the campus to celebrate Wang Sheng’s championship victory.
Originally, they planned to invite all of Wang Sheng’s teammates, but in the end, it became just a dorm dinner, though Su Peng shamelessly tagged along.
“Brother Long, call me next time for something like that! What kind of face did Wang Sheng make back then? Like he ate poop?”
Chen Junjie had gone on a date that afternoon and deeply regretted missing the scene.
“How would I know where you were?” Long Xing replied blankly.
“Wang Sheng, did any girls add you on WeChat?” Chen Junjie teased. “Any pretty ones? Anyone you like?”
Wang Sheng just sighed and kept his head down, not answering.
An Han and Su Peng walked side by side at the back, smiling as they watched their dormmates joke around.
“How nice~ so lively,” she sighed softly. “But why does Wang Sheng still look unhappy even after winning? He even got over ten girls’ WeChat contacts.”
Su Peng thought that anyone in his place probably wouldn’t feel happy right now either.
“And by the way, why are you even here?” An Han looked up at Su Peng beside her, complaining, “You just had to come and get a free meal, didn’t you?”
“Hey, it’s a victory dinner! I helped find the sponsor too. Without me, the competition wouldn’t even have happened.”
She made a small annoyed sound through her teeth.
She clearly didn’t want to get too close to Su Peng, yet every time they met, her legs would somehow move closer to him on their own.
Every time they parted, she would regret it, swear again that she’d ignore him next time, and then, when the next time came, it was always the same.
An Han wore a faint smile as she looked at her friends ahead, but deep down, she was uneasy.
Every time she interacted with Su Peng, she would feel genuine happiness and shyness. Even when he teased her, her emotions were mostly a mix of embarrassment, anger, and excitement, sometimes even a strange urge to want more.
It was terrifying...
An Han was starting to wonder if her sexual orientation had changed, though she stubbornly refused to admit it.
Thankfully, she would soon move out of the dorm, so she’d probably see Su Peng much less after that.
They chatted and laughed as they left the school and arrived at a nearby barbecue restaurant, sitting together around a long table.
Long Xing, who loved drinking, immediately carried over a box of beer, opened it, and placed the bottles on the table.
“Come on, everyone, take one!”
While An Han was using her phone to scan and order food, she reached out to grab a bottle of beer, but her hand touched nothing.
When she looked up in confusion, she saw that the beer she was reaching for had been moved away by Long Xing.
“You better not drink. Did you forget what happened last time at the KTV?”
With a “this is for your own good” look, Long Xing pushed the rest of the beer farther out of her reach.
An Han frowned, about to argue angrily, but Su Peng joined in from the side.
“Yeah, just drink cola instead.”
Her energy instantly vanished, and she sat down gloomily, muttering, “Eating barbecue without beer just feels... wrong.”
It was obvious that Long Xing only stopped her from drinking because he now knew she was a girl.
Why though! Her alcohol tolerance was way better than his!
All the people at the table were classmates or dormmates, the only “dangerous” person there was Su Peng…
Su Peng had already placed a glass of cola in front of An Han and handed her his phone with a grin.
“What?” she asked suspiciously.
“Something to watch while we wait for the food. Here, use these.” He handed her a pair of wireless earphones.
“What’s there to watch…” An Han muttered as she put the earphones on.
The barbecue had already been ordered. Normally, while waiting for the food, everyone would drink beer, chat big, and snack on peanuts. But since An Han could only drink cola, she wasn’t in the mood to brag or joke around.
So, she focused on the video Su Peng wanted her to see, dragging the timeline back to the start and resting her chin on one hand.
The video was about *****. A content creatorinfiltrated a ***** group and exposed the extreme ugliness of perverted scumbags.
At first, An Han wasn’t very interested, but as she kept watching, she grew more and more alarmed.
You can never really know a person’s heart, those kinds of creeps often target people close to them. The more familiar someone is, the less guarded the victims tend to be… and both men and women could be victims.
When that part came up, she looked at Su Peng with a suspicious expression.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Su Peng said with a helpless smile. “I just wanted you to be more careful, that’s all.”
“I think you have a big motive for crime,” she muttered, feeling like Su Peng was using this as a roundabout way to warn her that she shouldn’t keep living in the boys’ dorm.
Just then, Wang Sheng, sitting on her other side, leaned over curiously.
“What video are you watching?”
“Yeah! What could be more important than the dinner party?” Chen Junjie chimed in.
“None of your business!” An Han shot back at Chen Junjie, handing the phone back to Su Peng.
But after that, she began to look at all the men around the table with growing doubt.
Chen Junjie was a known playboy, he’d dated several girls over the past two years.
Wang Sheng looked honest, but who knew what he was hiding deep down?
Long Xing liked her when she dressed as a girl, who could say if he might do something strange because of that?
And Su Peng… he was the most suspicious of all. His favorability toward her was over a hundred, what if one day he lost patience…
An Han glanced around at the group of guys, feeling a little guilty for her thoughts, but even more eager to move out of the dorm soon.
When the barbecue was served, she quietly drank her cola and didn’t insist on having beer anymore. Compared to previous dorm gatherings, she was much quieter this time.
Noticing that everyone else was talking and laughing, Wang Sheng leaned closer and whispered, “An Han, uh… do you still want the prize money?”
“Of course. Just send it through red packet transfer.”
Even though the money technically came from Su Peng, she liked to think of it as a reward she earned through her own effort, an “unexpected fortune.”
“We divided it up. I got seven hundred, and it’s all yours,” Wang Sheng said.
“You’re not keeping any for yourself?” An Han asked, feeling a bit bad. “You won the championship. You should at least keep something!”
Wang Sheng just gave a sheepish smile and shook his head.
Something felt off about him, though. Her gaze drifted downward, his phone screen seemed to be stuck on a chat window.
He usually liked playing on his phone during meals, but it was always to read novels.
She suddenly got suspicious and leaned over for a quick look at his screen.
“What are you doing!” Wang Sheng slammed his phone down on the table at once.
The others stopped chatting and turned to look at them.
An Han’s lips curled into a wide teasing grin.
“Well, well~ You were just criticizing me earlier, and now you’re chatting with one of those girls who added you on WeChat, huh?”
“Spring has come for you~”
In an instant, Chen Junjie and Long Xing both jumped up, each wrapping an arm around Wang Sheng’s neck and saying together, “Let us see!”
“It’s nothing serious! We were just chatting casually,” Wang Sheng’s face turned red as he tried to explain. “It’s not like that, we’ve only been talking for half an hour!”
“We’ll help you as advisors then!”
