[Vol. 8] Chapter 264: Crimson Lotus Break
Good heavens! Miss Sasha was not the type who enjoyed mocking people for no reason. Just now, she had clearly meant to ask something serious like, “Who are you, and what are you trying to do here?”
So why did it come out of her mouth as something completely different?!
But whatever the reason, once the words were spoken, they were spoken. In a fight, she couldn’t just take them back and lose her side’s momentum.
So she rolled her eyes at the monster, planted her hands on her hips, and struck a bold “What can you do about it?” pose.
The effect was… quite obvious.
The strange creature, part building, part monster, had only one mouth, so it was hard to see any facial change.
But just from the way its voice suddenly became sharp and harsh, she could tell it was actually angry.
“Arrogant! Absolutely arrogant!!! I don’t know where you stole that gift from the Great Beginning, but do you really think just borrowing some power makes you untouchable? That you can look down on us?! Since you want to die, I’ll show you what it means to be truly chosen by the great will! Remember this name — [Towerf]!”
With a furious roar, the monster stopped asking questions and began to change shape in mid-air. It turned into a giant club made of solid rock, like a massive pillar of heaven crashing down, bringing with it a crushing force aimed straight at Sasha!
BOOM!!!!!!
The sound was like thunder, the power overwhelming. Unlike its earlier, testing attacks, this strike looked simple. But in truth it was pure power refined to its peak, far stronger than before, several times over!
So strong!
Sasha’s face became tense. Her first instinct was to dodge, but she quickly realized that if this blow hit the ground, the entire Xavier Hotel, along with everyone inside, would be instantly destroyed. So she could not move aside.
What should she do? Could she really block such an attack?
In the end, the choice before her was actually only one.
Draw the bow. Nock the arrow.
A crimson lotus bloomed in the air, its flawless petals spreading one by one. It was a blaze of extreme beauty and destruction, faintly tinged with a golden light it had never shown before.
The giant shadow loomed closer and closer. Sweat gathered at the edge of her brow. This power was on a level far above her fifth bow technique.
She didn’t know if she could succeed. But right now, the lives of over a thousand people in the hotel, and even the tens of thousands of survivors in the entire city of Saint Teer, were all in her hands.
The pressure was overwhelming.
Sasha didn’t notice that, at some unknown moment, the faint image of six wings behind her had started to become clearer. A blurry golden figure appeared at her back, so hazy that only its simple action could be seen, gently placing a hand on Sasha’s shoulder.
!?
Suddenly, the rune branded on the back of her hand burned hotter than ever before. A force far stronger and wilder than before surged into her body, filling her with an almost unstoppable urge.
That power urged her to release it, to unleash the strongest, ultimate strike!
In that instant, the world fell into a sudden silence. Even the thunderclouds called by [Fifth Form - Catastrophe] seemed to lose their menace, leaving only the lotus, shining with breathtaking, otherworldly light.
“Form Six… Crimson Lotus!!!”
In an instant, the red lotus bloomed, and the evil spirit was destroyed. The sky was cleansed, and the world was clear again.
……………………………………
Saint Laos City, manor’s tall building.
“Sigh… that’s why young girls don’t have enough experience. Always scared of this and that. Even when you lend them your power, they still hesitate and overthink. If you’re not happy, just fight! And yet I still had to help personally…”
Muttering complaints, Violet opened her eyes. When her awareness returned to her real body, the Goddess of Life had already withdrawn her divine power and vanished from her side.
The room was still quiet. Far away, the giant tree of flesh and blood had already been cut into dozens of pieces by sharp sword energy. The chaos and noise still continued, but in truth, Saint Laos City was already very lucky.
At least here, Violet had prepared in advance, there were two heroes to handle the disaster, and a powerful sword saint to resolve the crisis. But many other cities, like Saint Teal, had none of this. For the people living there, all that awaited them was despair and death.
Because of Sasha, Violet could help that city as well. But what about the many other cities she couldn’t see or reach?
Neither she nor Sethlin could save everyone in this world. At most, they could give a little hope, a small light in the dark.
Shaking her head, the young priestess put aside the momentary feelings and thought carefully about what she had just experienced.
Although there were still many flaws, the experiment was without doubt a success. The idea had been proven possible.
The so-called “God’s Descent” required a vessel that had a very high compatibility with the god. Normally, someone like Sasha, who had no affinity with the element of Light and barely any faith at all, should have no way to carry even a small part of Violet’s divine power and divinity.
But this “impossible” thing had just been completely broken by reality. As the saying goes, real knowledge comes from practice. Even what Sethlin had said might not be entirely correct.
The rule system that the gods used actually had loopholes. The most important key to breaking it was the symbol that Tairnak had drawn on the back of Sasha’s hand. The mysterious power called [Forbidden Words].
Of course, the [Forbidden Words] Tairnak drew was not real, or at least not the same as the kind Violet had once encountered. He didn’t have the ability to fully recreate it.
So, it wasn’t the kind of writing that would normally be strongly rejected by the world’s rules. Instead, it was the result of Violet’s recent research, based on something she had discovered in ancient ruins some time ago.
Earlier, in the great hall at the entrance to the ruins, Violet had used her [Reincarnation] divinity to decode a small amount of [Forbidden Words].
Although later events had stopped her from translating more important content, she had still gained something valuable. For now, the most important thing wasn’t what the script said, but the existence of the [Forbidden Words] itself.
Why was it that these were just simple marks, yet anyone who copied them would be badly injured, coughing up blood? Why could they not be read or repeated in any form?
Where did the power inside these symbols come from?
The most profound forces in the world were undoubtedly the “Laws,” represented by the gods. These laws formed the foundation and essence of all things in the world. From the smallest to the greatest, their concepts were directly connected to the strength of the authority held by the gods.
Even the most mysterious ones Violet knew, such as “Time,” “Fate” represented by the “Wheel of Destiny,” and even “Origin” she had seen deep inside the [Morst Underground Labyrinth], could all clearly be placed into this category.
