[Vol. 8] Chapter 265: Violet’s Forbidden Words
The laws of the world are natural and reasonable, so their mystery and power were things Violet could understand and accept. They fit the rules by which everything works.
But then… what exactly are the [Forbidden Words]?
Are they also a kind of law? If yes, what do they represent?
And if not, that would mean there exists another type of power in this world, one that is just as strong as the laws, maybe even stronger. Such a completely unknown power, a blind spot in understanding, is without doubt the key mystery that needs to be solved.
By chance, Violet had already met beings who didn’t control any “laws” yet still possessed a similar level of conceptual power, strength almost equal to the gods.
They were the [World Sustainers].
So the priestess made a bold guess, could it be possible that the power of the [World Sustainers] and the power represented by the [Forbidden Words] actually come from the same source?
Of course, a guess is still just a guess. Even though she had many ideas, Violet still had no solid proof. But if she did nothing and waited until certain groups completed their hidden schemes, then when the truth finally came out, it would already be too late.
So, after thinking it over many times, Violet, who was always bold in thought and action, decided to run an experiment. She wanted to explore the [Forbidden Words] on a deeper level, to see… could she also use this power?
She had to admit, the Divinity of [Reincarnation] left to her by Dawn had many wonderful uses. The more she used it, the more she realized it truly was a main-god-level law.
Back when she used the [Yin-Yang Eyes] to analyze the [Forbidden Words], it had already been an unbelievable miracle. But later, to her surprise, the priestess noticed an even bigger secret.
Perhaps it was that accidental "intrusion" that somehow granted her partial access to this type of words. After repeated research and attempts, she discovered that if she really wanted to, she could take ordinary, normal words and, using the power of [Reincarnation], reverse-translate them into a new form, one similar to the [Forbidden Words]!
When she first succeeded in writing such words on paper, Violet’s shock was written all over her face.
But soon, she realized these words were not exactly the same as the ones she had seen before. First of all, the ones she created were less like true words and more like special symbols unique to her.
They carried the meanings of different words but could change at any time based on her own will. So they absolutely could not be the original [Forbidden Words].
If we compare it to a game, it was like she had “stolen” some of the game’s underlying code, then used it to write her own program. The source was similar, but because it was newly created, it wasn’t on the “antivirus software’s” list of blocked or deleted files.
In other words, the [Forbidden Words] she created were not truly “forbidden” at all, though still extremely hard to use, they were a special power she could freely apply.
Of course, creating these law-like words was very difficult. Even with her skills, Violet had spent several days on research and had only just taken her first step into this field.
The symbol that Tairnak had drawn on Sasha’s hand was one of these, and everything that happened earlier clearly proved its strange and amazing effects.
Based on the effect of the [Tears of Light] and considering the user’s ability to handle it, the potion could at most temporarily raise a normal person to a level close to a “pseudo god.” In fact, the stronger the person already is, the smaller the boost they would get. It’s fine for ordinary people, but it’s not something that could really change the outcome of an important battle.
After all, Miss Priestess could casually summon a Light Elemental Spirit, which is already stronger than the potion’s highest possible effect. When she first created the [Tears of Light], it was really just a side experiment while studying potions, basically a way to make use of leftover materials. She never thought it would turn out to be so useful now, becoming a key part in working with the [Forbidden Words].
One of the most important ingredients in the [Tears of Light] is the priestess’s own diluted blood. From a “fate” perspective, this creates a strong cause-and-effect connection between her and the potion.
This cause-and-effect link is a kind of bridge, a channel, and is also one of the most important requirements for Divine Descent. But with the [Tears of Light] containing such an extremely tiny amount of divine blood, it should have been almost impossible to truly connect it to Violet herself.
However, the power of the [Forbidden Words] changed that.
Like a powerful catalyst, by guiding Tairnak to complete a certain symbol, Violet actually managed to connect with the potion from hundreds of kilometers away. She was able to project a portion of her divine power, her [Radiance] power, into Sasha and complete the Divine Descent.
In this process, the one holding the divine power wasn’t Sasha herself, it was the [Tears of Light], and more precisely, the [Forbidden Words] symbol drawn using it as the base. To put it simply, it was like creating a temporary divine artifact strongly linked to the priestess, while Sasha was simply the one using it.
It was a completely abnormal, unbelievable kind of power. This so-called [Forbidden Words] doesn’t fit into the world’s current rules at all. It holds true, unlimited creative potential.
The reason it’s so hard to create might be because it’s like building entirely new rules that didn’t exist before. If Violet took it further, developing her self-made language into a complete and structured language, then perhaps…
She could truly become like the legendary Primordial Light, able to make anything happen simply by speaking it.
Or… she might touch upon certain hidden rules and be fiercely targeted by the Primordial Light, forcing her to confront the deepest secrets of the world.
Thinking about that, even Violet, who rarely felt her heart stirred anymore, couldn’t help but feel it beat faster.
Either way, it would be interesting.
“Hoo…”
She took a few deep breaths, calming down the excitement she felt, like someone who just found a perfect new toy. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she smiled to herself helplessly.
“Ah… I’m making big promises to myself again~”
The [Forbidden Words] was like a huge treasure vault with a locked door. Using the Divinity of [Reincarnation], she had managed to pry open a tiny gap and sneak out a few gems. But to think she could empty the whole vault like this would be nothing but wishful thinking.
And since it’s a treasure vault, there must be guards or security systems of some kind. For now, her small-scale experiments probably aren’t enough to trigger those hidden defenses.
But… if she goes further, meeting them would only be a matter of time.
