Chapter 209: Cross-dressing in Class

“Is that An Han?”

“Wow! He looks so pretty in women’s clothes!”

“He even changed his hairstyle~”

“I think... I might like men now!”

“You’re just being a pervert.”

“I told you, if An Han ever wore women’s clothes, real girls wouldn’t stand a chance!”

The moment An Han stepped into the classroom, which had just been quiet, the whole place exploded with whispers.

Her footsteps froze at the doorway. After a short pause, she lowered her gaze to the floor and quickly walked inside with her head down. Because she moved too fast, her hip hit the edge of the tiered desk.

The sharp pain made her gasp, and she stepped back, crouching down while holding her hip. Her face turned red, and her eyes filled with tears.

“So cute~ I just want to take her home!”

“Calm down!”

“She looks better than those guys online who do cross-dressing!”

Surprisingly, there wasn’t any gossip or mockery. Everyone just seemed shocked, and most of what she heard were compliments.

She could only thank the recent popularity of the cross-dressing culture online, which had made people more accepting of it.

Gritting her teeth, An Han endured the pain, grabbed the desk to stand up, and slowly moved to sit beside Wang Sheng.

When she looked up, she saw Wang Sheng’s face completely red, he didn’t even dare look at her.

Then she turned toward the hallway window and saw her mother standing there with her little sister, watching the chaos inside. That sight calmed her heart, and the panic she felt at first slowly faded away.

To most of her classmates, An Han was still a boy. Just one dressed up as a “cross-dressing expert.” But she didn’t feel any hostility.

“Hey, An Han,” a boy sitting behind her whispered curiously, “are you recording a video or something? Like, ‘What happens if you attend class in women’s clothes?’”

“No.”

“Then did you lose a truth-or-dare game?”

“Uh... yeah, you’re really smart.” She turned around and smiled at him.

The boy immediately panicked, his face turning red as he quickly looked away and buried his head in his arms.

For some reason, An Han not only looked beautiful but also carried a strange kind of charm in her eyes.

His reaction amused her, it felt like she had just pulled off a successful prank. Her lips curved into a playful smile, and she leaned closer to Wang Sheng.

Wang Sheng’s face went even redder. He scooted away from her and muttered, “Stay away from me... this isn’t right...”

“Pfft!” An Han laughed. “What’s wrong with you guys? I just put on women’s clothes, not turned into a ghost.”

“Well, no one expected you to be such a weirdo,” Chen Junjie said dryly.

“You asking for a beating?”

Then she looked over at Long Xing, their dorm leader, who was lying face-down on his desk, mumbling something to himself without even looking up.

“Brother Long?” she called curiously. She wanted to see his reaction.

But Long Xing just waved his hand weakly and said, without lifting his head, “Leave me alone. I need to calm down.”

If only he had just gone for it and confessed regardless of gender... Now, he could only regret it, but regret came too late.

An Han quickly stopped paying attention to Long Xing. She turned her small head left and right, observing how her classmates were reacting. It was much better than she had expected.

“Not a man, not a woman, so disgusting.”

But sometimes, unpleasant voices still slipped through… Those words hurt more than she thought they would, like a sharp needle poking straight into her heart.

Just a moment ago, she had been feeling proud and confident, soaking in the amazed looks from her classmates. But in an instant, her mood dropped.

She looked toward the direction of the voice and saw a group of classmates she wasn’t familiar with, people she had barely talked to in the past two years.

With a blank face, she rested her head on the desk. She didn’t plan to argue with them.

Class hadn’t started yet, and students were still coming into the room one after another. Although An Han tried to act like she didn’t care, her ears were alert, quietly listening to every whisper around her.

She knew she shouldn’t care this much...

Then Su Peng walked into the classroom and immediately noticed her. He quickly hurried to her desk and whispered, “Why are you wearing women’s clothes?”

“I’m just letting them get used to it early,” An Han said, raising an eyebrow. Then she nudged Wang Sheng beside her with her shoulder. “Move over a bit, let Su Peng sit.”

Wang Sheng nervously motioned for Chen Junjie and Long Xing next to him to shift seats. Once Su Peng sat down, An Han finally felt a little more at ease.

“This is way too sudden,” Su Peng frowned, glancing around the classroom. Then he noticed An Han’s mother and little sister standing in the hallway. His body froze, and he whispered, “Your mom’s watching. I think I’ll go sit with my roommates.”

“Come on, I’m not doing anything wrong. What are you so scared of?”

The problem was... in this situation, he was nervous.

Su Peng’s face stiffened. He wanted to make a good impression on his future mother-in-law, after all.

“By the way,” An Han said, taking out her phone with a troubled look, “I’m going on a trip with my family this weekend. Do you have any places to recommend? The spots I know all have bad reviews online, and Junjie and the others said they’re boring and expensive.”

“Hmm... I don’t really go to tourist spots,” Su Peng scratched his head. “If you want to eat something good, you can go to a market, buy ingredients, and find a nearby restaurant to cook them for you. For fun... maybe a water park?”

“I don’t like water, and I can’t swim.”

“Then the beach?”

“My hometown’s by the sea, I’m already tired of it.”

Lying on her desk, An Han sniffed the faint scent coming from Su Peng and asked, “Then where do locals usually go for fun?”

“Well... we don’t really go anywhere,” Su Peng said, sounding even more lost. “Maybe night markets at night, Walmart or Wanda Plaza during the day?”

He had lived in the city his whole life, yet when someone asked where the fun places were, he didn’t have an answer.

“Tourist spots!” An Han gave up completely and complained, “You’re so hopeless.”

“I’ve never been to the local tourist spots,” Su Peng said helplessly. “Or maybe I went before they became tourist spots...”

Seeing her unhappy face, Su Peng panicked a little, afraid she might talk badly about him in front of her mom later.

“How about this, I’ll drive you guys this weekend. Wherever you want to go, I’ll take you.”

An Han’s eyes lit up, but then dimmed again. “What if my mom figures it out? She said I’m not allowed to date for the next few years.”

“Aren’t we just normal friends?”

“......”

Su Peng teased, “So you don’t want your mom to think something’s going on between us?”

“Stay away from me! Don’t let the classmates get the wrong idea!” An Han pushed his face away with her palm.

He didn’t keep trying to get closer, but said firmly, “Then it’s settled. This weekend, I’ll drive you all around. Better than you wasting time trying to decide where to go.”

An Han snorted softly through her nose and reluctantly replied, “Fine, whatever.”
