Chapter 210: How Could She Like Him!
On Friday, Su Peng specially took the bus home first, then drove his family’s small car to the apartment building. When he arrived, it was already past eight in the evening.
He had gotten a haircut today, changed into a white shirt that showed off his tall figure, and even washed his face carefully with facial cleanser before leaving home. All so he could make a good impression in front of his future mother-in-law these next two days.
Chasing after An Han could wait.
Right now, what mattered most was impressing her future mother-in-law. Her future little sister was also very important!
Noisy laughter came from inside the apartment. A moment later, An Han, wearing pretty girls’ clothes, led her family out through the door.
Su Peng quickly got out of the car and walked over with extra enthusiasm to help carry the mother’s luggage.
“Auntie, I already booked the hotel. You can stay there tonight. There’s a night market near the hotel, so you can also walk around later.”
“How much did it cost?” the mother asked with a smile as she took out her phone. “I’ll transfer the money to you.”
“It wasn’t much. Two rooms for two nights, not even a thousand in total.”
Su Peng purposely reported a lower price and kept his most polite smile. But when he glanced at An Han beside him, he noticed her face was full of annoyance.
He froze for a moment, wondering what he did wrong, but he didn’t stop moving. He quickly put the mother’s luggage in the trunk, then rushed to the back to help open the car door.
“An Han, you sit in the front passenger seat.” He also opened the front door and made a “please” gesture with a smile.
Expressionless, An Han walked over and sat down. At the same time, she muttered angrily in a low voice, “What the hell is wrong with you!”
“What?”
“My mom is going to mistake you for my boyfriend!”
Isn’t that perfect?
Su Peng’s smile became even softer. “Auntie doesn’t seem to mind, right?”
“I mind!”
An Han kicked Su Peng’s shin with her little leg, then sat properly with her arms crossed.
“Mom! A Crown!” The little sister in the back seat couldn’t sit still at all. She pointed at the steering wheel with excitement. “Is this car very expensive?”
The little sister was not like other girls. While other girls liked dolls and dresses, she liked cars and pants. Since elementary school, she hadn’t worn a skirt again.
An Han even felt that if her sister met some system that turned her into a boy, it might actually suit her.
“It’s not expensive. It’s my dad’s car. He bought it a long time ago, so it’s not worth much now,” Su Peng said casually as he sat down.
An Han wasn’t interested in cars. She yawned and leaned back in the seat.
“Seatbelt,” Su Peng reminded her.
Feeling around clumsily, An Han fumbled out the seatbelt and stuck it into the buckle on the left. She rarely sat in the front, and sitting in the back didn’t require a seatbelt.
Su Peng started the car and steadily drove out of the city village.
“It’ll take about forty minutes.”
After a while, the little sister fell asleep, leaning against the seat. The mother watched Su Peng’s half-visible face through the rear-view mirror.
Meanwhile, An Han hugged her arms tightly, looking nervously at the dark scenery outside, her mind full of worries.
It was time to start the mission.
The mission required her to wear girls’ clothes and take her family on a two-day trip. The reward was becoming female for real.
But the other mission choice, the easier one, was to wear girls’ clothes and take her boyfriend along with her family on the trip…
Su Peng wasn’t her boyfriend, so it should be fine, right?
She must not fail the mission at a time like this. If she lost the chance to ever get a real female body, then she would only be able to live outside as a cross-dressing guy forever.
Suddenly, a wave of panic hit An Han. She regretted bringing Su Peng along.
She only wanted to use his car during the trip, and her mother also had a good impression of Su Peng…
Su Peng thought carefully, trying to find a topic to chat with his future mother-in-law and improve their relationship.
But even though he was usually an outgoing guy, at this moment he couldn’t say a single word. He held everything in so much that he almost became socially awkward.
He was afraid of saying the wrong thing, and also worried that certain questions might make her dislike him.
“Auntie…” He tried hard to find a starting point for a topic. “Auntie, do you like playing mahjong?”
An Han paused, noticed what Su Peng was trying to do, and looked back at her mother.
Her mother still wore that gentle smile and nodded lightly. “Mm, when I have free time, I play a few rounds with the neighbors.”
“How about we play tomorrow night? Maybe we can put together a three-person mahjong table?”
She lifted her head and looked at her reflection in the rear-view mirror.
“In a couple of years.”
“In a couple of years…”
Su Peng suddenly froze, replying in a disappointed tone.
An Han’s heart also tightened. She nervously glanced at her mother.
When they arrived at the hotel, An Han and her family checked in under Su Peng’s arrangements.
The hotel was in the city center, and Su Peng’s house wasn’t far. After helping them settle in, he said goodbye and was ready to leave.
One double room, one single bed room. An Han swiped the card and entered her room. After putting down her things, she saw her mother calmly walk in as well.
“Mom…” An Han didn’t see her sister. “Where’s my sister?”
“She slept all the way in the car.” Her mother smiled and sat on the bed. She waved at An Han, who was about to escape into the bathroom. “Come here for a moment.”
“Oh…”
An Han guessed what her mother wanted to talk about.
She didn’t really want to, but she still sat down next to her mother. Her head lowered, her eyes looking at her own slender fingers. She nervously twisted them together.
“You like that boy?” her mother asked directly.
“N-no… not really…”
“But he definitely likes you.”
Her face quickly turned red. An Han lowered her head even more and answered softly.
“I told you before, you only became a girl not long ago. Give it some time. Talk about these things after a few years, okay?” Her mother’s voice was gentle.
Her expression suddenly hardened. “You two are already together?”
“……”
“No.”
“In the future, don’t stay too close to him. You just became a girl. It’s easy for someone to take advantage of you…”
“He’s not that kind of person,” An Han whispered in protest. “We’re just friends.”
Her mother acted like she didn’t hear anything. “Tomorrow, don’t let him come with us. Why should our whole family bring him along on our trip?”
After saying this, she left the room without waiting for An Han to agree.
Only then did An Han lift her head in a daze, staring at the closed door. The blush on her cheeks slowly faded.
“I don’t even like Su Peng… Why is she telling me all this…”
She muttered under her breath, fell backward onto the bed, and stared at the ceiling. But without noticing, it was as if she kept seeing Su Peng’s figure.
Her thoughts became messy. She scratched her head hard several times, then rolled back and forth on the bed many times.
Finally, she buried her face in the pillow and let out a muffled scream.
“Ahhh!!”
“So annoying!”
She lay still. After a long silence, she asked gloomily:
“Did I really start liking Su Peng?”
She had only been unsure before, but after talking with her mother, she realized she couldn’t accept her mother’s suggestion.
Her mother only told her to stay away from Su Peng, yet she felt angry for no reason.
“How could I like a man…”
