Chapter 213: The Gift
“How many outfits did you buy? Seven or eight sets? Can your wardrobe even fit all of this?”
Back at the hotel, Su Peng helped organize the clothes An Han bought. He muttered while sorting,
“Most of these are spring and summer clothes… well, at least they won’t go to waste.”
“Winter is short here anyway.”
An Han sat comfortably on the sofa with her legs crossed. Under her skirt, everything was fully exposed toward Su Peng, but he didn’t even bother looking.
There wasn’t even a safety short under the skirt! It was literally just a pair of cotton shorts that could be worn as outerwear.
“Isn’t it uncomfortable to wear shorts under a skirt?”
“Why would it be uncomfortable?” An Han looked down at her skirt. “This way I don’t have to worry about showing anything.”
She didn’t think too much about it. She turned her head toward the window and yawned.
“It’s almost twelve. The hotel will chase us out soon.”
“It’s fine. This is my uncle’s hotel.”
“……”
At that moment, An Han didn’t know whether she should curse rich people or feel happy she had a rich friend.
She yawned again, curling lazily in the sofa.
“Hurry up. I want to go back and take a nap.”
“I haven’t slept well in the hotel these two days. And I walked everywhere with my mom. I’m exhausted.”
“Now I still need to finish my final assignments and keep studying. Just thinking about it gives me a headache.”
Maybe the system gives her too many random ‘body shape’ stats? If the next one was an Intelligence stat, at least memorizing things wouldn’t hurt her brain so much.
She was already at B+.
An Han anxiously looked down at the “slope” on her chest.
It felt tight and uncomfortable, and even her center of gravity shifted forward when walking…
Looks like she needed to buy another bra~
Although the body stats reduced her body fat and gave her faint muscle lines on her waist, her chest didn’t need to keep growing, right?
She touched her stomach. Even while relaxed, she could still feel a bit of softness.
One more body stat and she might get abs…
But by then, her chest would probably be at least a C.
An Han didn’t hate “bigger and softer,” but only if she was the one looking, not the one carrying the weight.
But clearly, Su Peng was very happy with her changes.
That guy kept sneaking glances at her chest. From his expression, he seemed to hope they’d grow even more.
An Han glared at him fiercely. “What the hell are you staring at!”
“Can’t you be a bit gentle?” Su Peng awkwardly straightened his posture and picked up the suitcase. “Everything’s packed. Let’s go.”
If there was one thing he didn’t like about her, it was her habit of randomly blurting out curse words.
It made him feel like he was hanging out with a guy friend again.
An Han quickly stood up from the sofa and followed him out of the room.
As she got closer, she suddenly noticed a bruise on his hand.
“When did you get hurt?”
“Friday noon.”
“!!!” She stared at him in shock. “How did I not notice at all?”
Su Peng let out a helpless sigh.
“With how careless you are, how could you notice?”
“Why would I stare at your hand for no reason… How did it happen?”
He hesitated a bit, but felt there was nothing to hide.
“On Friday I took Long Xing and the others to fight the guys in the next dorm.”
“Did you lose or win?”
“Won.”
An Han relaxed. “As long as you won.”
Even though Su Peng had fought a few times back in middle school and high school, he had been very well-behaved these two years in college. And he even brought Long Xing with him?
“What about Junjie and Wang Sheng?”
“Wang Sheng isn’t the type to fight, so I didn’t let him come.”
Su Peng pulled the suitcase with one hand, while his injured hand stayed in his pocket. He spoke casually, “It’s been too long since I last fought. I’m rusty. Otherwise, my hand wouldn’t have gotten hurt.”
Talking as they walked, they reached the front of the hotel. An Han naturally sat in the passenger seat, eyes still full of curiosity.
Only after Su Peng got into the car did she continue asking,
“Why did you fight? And why didn’t you call me? I could at least cheer for you guys~”
“You’d have to crawl through the fence just to enter the boys’ dorm.”
Su Peng mounted his phone on the holder, started the car, and drove smoothly into the street.
“Those guys were talking too much trash. So Long Xing and Junjie asked me to help teach them a lesson.”
“Oh~”
An Han nodded in sudden understanding.
She figured the fight must have been because a few guys made rude comments when she went to class in girls’ clothes, and Su Peng couldn’t stand hearing it. Otherwise, with the good temper he usually showed at school, she really couldn’t think of another reason.
The car headed toward the school. An Han leaned back in the seat, distractedly watching the scenery outside.
From time to time, she glanced at Su Peng’s side profile and quietly sighed in her heart.
She completely didn’t know how to deal with this relationship!
She already understood her own feelings, she really did like Su Peng. But she still hesitated, unsure what to do next.
After all, she had only been a girl for a few months. Even though she liked him, the leftover “male mindset” still made her uncomfortable with being physically close to Su Peng.
And then there was her mother.
She could say “she can’t control me” all she wanted, but if her mother found out, she would probably get scolded to death. Just thinking about it made her shiver.
But her mother would never imagine that the “little lamb” she kept warning not to get close to wolves… was now flirting and acting cute with that wolf.
“An Han.”
“Mm?”
“What are you planning for winter break?”
Without thinking, she answered, “I’ll find a winter job. I want to earn some money to buy makeup.”
Her mother had bought skincare for her the night they shopped for clothes, so now what she needed was makeup.
“I can buy a set for you.”
She shook her head immediately.
“No. If you buy it, I’ll be too lazy to learn. If I pay for it myself, I’ll actually have motivation to practice.”
Su Peng didn’t argue. He knew this girl too well, especially her laziness and salted-fish personality.
The car stopped at a red light. He turned, took a white knitted hat from the storage compartment, and said,
“If you don’t want makeup, then take this. It’ll keep you warm...”
“And earmuffs too.”
Before she could refuse, he smiled and placed both items onto her thighs.
“Together they’re only around fifty or sixty yuan. Just take them.”
“I see your ears red every day. If you don’t keep warm, you’ll get frostbite.”
“Oh…” An Han looked down shyly, cheeks pink. “I usually don’t get frostbite until the end of January. It’s not that fast…”
Her face was still red as she added, without mercy, “Good thing you didn’t make these yourself. Otherwise I really wouldn’t dare to use them.”
She didn’t dare show her mom the gloves Su Peng made before. The quality was too easy to recognize as handmade, and handmade gifts meant the giver was special.
While they were waiting at the red light, Su Peng secretly watched her expression. That shy-but-trying-not-to-be shy look already made him feel satisfied.
“I gave you a gift. Don’t you have anything to give me?” He joked lightly.
“Then I…”
An Han frowned a little, seriously thinking.
Su Peng’s heart started racing, he even began imagining a sudden kiss from her.
“How about I help you rank up in the game tonight?”
“……”
