Chapter 1: Hit by a Car, Then Get Married?
“You tell me, why is it always me who has to comfort her?” A clean-looking young man raised his head, took a big gulp of beer, then crushed the can in his hand.
“Sigh…” The man beside him, with a neat side-parted hairstyle, just let out a quiet breath.
Su Moyu put the crushed aluminum can on the table.
At this hour, the street was almost empty.
The two of them sat at a roadside barbecue stall. The table and the ground were full of empty beer cans, bamboo skewers from finished grilled meat, and plastic food boxes.
Su Moyu had a very clean and gentle look. His facial features were soft, with a bit of baby fat. His lips were red, his teeth white, giving him a youthful charm. A bright, handsome boy at first glance.
But under the effect of alcohol, his fair face was slightly red. The cold streetlight shining on him gave him a faint, hazy beauty.
“It can’t be helped. She’s your girlfriend, so you should comfort her. Some things aren’t worth arguing about,” Bai Shuchuan replied.
Su Moyu took another big gulp of beer. “But it’s really tiring to comfort her! She never listens to reason. It was clearly her fault first.”
Bai Shuchuan wanted to say something to comfort him, but couldn’t think of anything.
He was probably a bit drunk too, because tonight was already the… who knows how many times he had heard that same sentence.
Su Moyu had just broken up with the girlfriend he had been with since high school.
The reason? He gave her a birthday gift she didn’t like.
After arguing, they naturally went their separate ways.
“I give her gifts every time. But on my birthday, she only bought me a cup of milk tea…”
Bai Shuchuan just listened quietly. At times like this, it was better to let him vent.
“Dating is really exhausting!!” Su Moyu cried out.
“Well, you’re single now, aren’t you?” Bai Shuchuan reminded him.
That sentence seemed to hit something deep inside Su Moyu. His emotions suddenly became intense.
“Now that I think about it, being a girl is really great. You just need to be comforted! I also want someone to give in to me!!”
As he spoke, his eyes filled with tears. Seeing him crying and sniffling, Bai Shuchuan calmly took out a tissue from his pocket.
“That way of thinking is kind of scary,” Bai Shuchuan swallowed, then after handing him the tissue, showed a slightly disgusted expression.
“I’m serious. With my looks, if I were a beautiful girl, I’d definitely charm tons of people,” Su Moyu suddenly said with a serious face.
“Gross,” Bai Shuchuan shot back without hesitation. “At least keep your imagination within limits.”
“Hmph. If I really were one, I might not even like you,” Su Moyu snorted.
“Same here,” Bai Shuchuan replied.
Now Su Moyu was truly annoyed.
“And here I thought you were my good brother.”
Hearing that, Bai Shuchuan felt confused.
“Don’t tell me you’ve actually fantasized about this before?” he asked after a moment of silence.
“No way.”
Su Moyu answered, but when he looked up and saw Bai Shuchuan’s doubtful expression, he frowned.
“I don’t really believe you,” Bai Shuchuan said with a smile. “Otherwise, why would you suddenly say something so strange?”
Su Moyu had only meant it as a casual joke, but Bai Shuchuan’s reaction made him feel a bit embarrassed.
“I was just joking,” Su Moyu explained. “Can’t I at least imagine a little??”
Bai Shuchuan stared at his face for a while. Su Moyu rolled his eyes, and his whole face turned red.
He felt like this guy was drunk.
“Sure, sure,” Bai Shuchuan replied casually.
After listening to him talk to himself for a long time, he just quietly took a sip of his drink.
“Let’s go!” The more he talked, the sadder Su Moyu became. He put down the empty can in his hand. “Back to the dorm~”
As he spoke, he stood up unsteadily. Bai Shuchuan quickly tried to support him, but Su Moyu suddenly stepped aside and avoided his hand.
Bai Shuchuan was shocked. Seeing him walk straight toward the busy road, he rushed forward.
Luckily, Su Moyu stopped at the roadside in time. It didn’t look like he was completely drunk or out of control.
“Be careful,” Bai Shuchuan reminded him.
Su Moyu looked at him teasingly, then put one arm over his shoulder. “I’m really not drunk. Who do you think you’re looking down on?”
Bai Shuchuan smiled helplessly. “Do you still like Zhou Ya?”
“Who would like her? She’s so ungrateful… Being single is better,” Su Moyu said, but his voice suddenly became choked.
“Yeah, who would like her? Now that you broke up, you’re so happy you’re crying,” Bai Shuchuan joked.
“Idiot, get lost. Stop making fun of me,” Su Moyu complained, hitting his shoulder hard.
Su Moyu looked up and saw the traffic light across the street turn green, so he just walked forward.
Everything in front of him felt a little blurry. He walked weakly for a bit, feeling the cool night wind on his face. But suddenly, the road ahead became very bright.
Then he heard Bai Shuchuan shout, but he didn’t want to care about him. That guy was still joking even when he had just broken up.
But in the next second, he felt his body being pushed hard. In that moment, his body suddenly felt very light… very light.
It felt like a long, long time passed before he felt pain from his back.
Footsteps rushed over. His vision started to go dark, and then Bai Shuchuan’s face appeared in front of him.
His mouth was moving, shouting something, looking very worried…
Su Moyu showed a small smile, but Bai Shuchuan’s face became paler and paler.
Am I… going to die…?
Everything in front of him slowly faded, while all kinds of noisy sounds filled his ears.
Finally, when his vision went completely dark, the world became quiet…

A familiar female voice entered his ears. Su Moyu felt like he had no strength at all.
Someone shook his body. He struggled to open his eyes, and Bai Shuchuan’s face appeared in his view.
But as everything became clearer, Bai Shuchuan’s face slowly turned into his ex-girlfriend’s face…
Su Moyu suddenly woke up and sat up. Seeing that he had finally woken up, Zhou Ya let out a sigh of relief.
“Susu, why did you wake up so late?” Zhou Ya looked at him worriedly, but Su Moyu still hadn’t reacted yet.
Zhou Ya…
“Zhou Ya… why are you here…” Su Moyu started to speak, but when he heard the clear, feminine voice coming out of his own mouth, he froze.
However, Zhou Ya just sighed helplessly, then threw a set of underwear and a morning robe in front of her.
“Why am I here? Today is your wedding. I’m here as a bridesmaid.”
“Huh?”
