Chapter 13: I Don’t Dislike You

“Too lazy to argue with you,” Su Moyu said, then walked to the bed, picked up the folded sleepwear and towel at the bedside, and turned to go into the bathroom.

Bai Shuchuan quietly closed the short video app, and his expression soon turned worried.

Su Moyu should be very happy right now…

After all, he had already agreed to go out and travel with her.

Bai Shuchuan sighed. He stared at his phone screen for a while, then decided to put this troublesome matter aside for now.

“You should just go out and have fun with Susu first. If you tell her about this, she’ll only worry.”

“A wedding is the most romantic moment in a girl’s life. The honeymoon is the same. Don’t let her worry. Just spend these couple of days enjoying yourselves. We’ll talk about everything after you come back. I’ll handle things here.”

Bai Xiaqing even added a cute sticker at the end.

It meant: don’t worry.

But based on Bai Shuchuan’s understanding of his sister, she was probably already overwhelmed.

“Also, you must not hide it from Susu. If you do, she’ll definitely be angry. And if she sees that you’re unhappy, she won’t be happy either.”

Bai Shuchuan looked toward the bathroom, his expression a bit helpless. But when he thought of Su Moyu’s red eyes, the feeling of powerlessness in his heart grew stronger.

She had just broken up with Zhou Ya, and then found out Zhou Ya was already with another guy. Wanting to go out and relax and clear her mind was completely normal.

So he couldn’t let anything go wrong.

Bai Shuchuan thought to himself.

…………………

When Su Moyu came out of the bathroom, she was wearing a nightdress with a small bear pattern on it. But in Bai Shuchuan’s eyes, it just looked like an oversized T-shirt.

She walked to the bed and lay down, her fair legs exposed. She was curious what kind of reaction Bai Shuchuan would have, but he didn’t even look up.

Well… that was expected.

Su Moyu sat at the edge of the bed and looked at her own legs again, still confused about one thing.

She clearly looked very attractive now, so why was Bai Shuchuan not reacting at all?

If it had been Bai Shuchuan who turned into a beautiful girl after being reborn, she felt she would already be asking him to wear all kinds of outfits she liked.

“Where are you sleeping tonight?” Su Moyu asked.

Only then did Bai Shuchuan look up at her. He answered quite naturally, “I’ll sleep on the sofa.”

“Why are you acting so distant?” Su Moyu had already guessed he would say that. “I’m not really a girl. Besides, it’s not like we’ve never slept in the same place before.”

Bai Shuchuan nodded. “Alright, if you don’t mind, then it’s fine.”

“The sofa is uncomfortable,” Su Moyu said, then leaned against the headboard and took out her phone.

“Yeah,” Bai Shuchuan replied, and then went into the bathroom to wash up.

Su Moyu sat on the bed, scrolling through the chat history on her phone with “Bai Shuchuan.” She realized that in this version of the world, Bai Shuchuan wasn’t cold or distant at all. He cared about his girlfriend, checked on her often, and even told funny jokes to cheer her up when she was sad…

No wonder…

Now she really understood why this version of Su Moyu married Bai Shuchuan so early.

She let out a lazy yawn. It was only 8 p.m., but maybe because she woke up too early for the wedding, she was already feeling sleepy.

The light nightdress felt quite comfortable.

She stretched and changed her position, lying down while continuing to use her phone.

The bathroom door opened. When Bai Shuchuan lay down beside her, she caught a faint smell from him. A mix of body wash, laundry detergent, and a bit of sweat.

Why does it smell kind of nice…

Su Moyu thought to herself.

Bai Shuchuan pulled the blanket over her.

“You’re pretty considerate,” Su Moyu teased.

Bai Shuchuan chuckled softly. “You call that considerate?”

“I guess,” Su Moyu said, then let out a lazy yawn. “I’m sleepy. Let’s go to sleep.”

Bai Shuchuan turned off the light. The room suddenly became dark, and everything was quiet. But he wasn’t sleepy at all.

They stayed silent. Bai Shuchuan suddenly thought of the stiff smile Su Moyu had when she met Zhou Ya.

“Bai Shuchuan…”

While he was thinking, Su Moyu’s soft voice came from the darkness.

“What is it?” he asked.

Su Moyu blinked. In the dark, she could only see his rough outline, but she could tell he had turned his head toward her.

She smiled slightly, her voice soft and gentle.

“Do you really… dislike how I am now?”

Her tone sounded casual, almost like she was joking.

Bai Shuchuan knew that Su Moyu cared about what others thought, but he was still a bit surprised she asked this.

“It’s okay, I guess. I can’t really explain it. Just don’t try too hard to act cute, and it’s fine. I wouldn’t say I dislike it. After all, you’re still you. I wouldn’t hate you.”

“Oh…”

Su Moyu answered quietly, and for some reason, her cheeks felt a little warm.

Seriously… why was she feeling shy?

She secretly touched her face and felt the warmth on her fingertips. At that moment, she was glad she had asked this after the lights were turned off.

After all, opening up like this between two guys felt a bit strange.

“Why did you suddenly ask that?” Bai Shuchuan asked.

“It’s nothing,” Su Moyu said, her voice sounding a little brighter. “Then you should try to get used to it. Maybe I’ll stay like this from now on… don’t you think?”

“Yeah. It does feel strange, but there’s nothing we can do. It’s not like we can just send you for surgery.”

“No money,” Su Moyu replied.

“If you really want to, I’ll help you.”

Hearing his serious tone, Su Moyu didn’t know what to say.

“Thank you,” she finally said.

Bai Shuchuan gave a small “mm” and didn’t continue.

“Just now… you weren’t just saying that to comfort me, right?”

After a while, Su Moyu asked again.

“No. What are you worried about?”

“…Nothing. Just asking.”

Bai Shuchuan felt a bit helpless.

He thought for a moment.

“You’re worried I might dislike you?”

“…Something like that.”

“I told you, I won’t,” he said.

“Okay,” Su Moyu replied softly.

He wanted to say something more to comfort her, but it felt a bit awkward to speak.

Finally, Su Moyu felt at ease and closed her eyes, ready to sleep. The next moment, she felt him move beside her. Then she felt a warm touch on the top of her head, gently patting her. A slight tingling feeling spread down her back.

“Good night. Don’t think about all this nonsense. Wake up early tomorrow, we have a flight to catch.”

“…Good night.”

“If anything’s wrong, just tell me.”

“Mm~”

“Don’t use that cutesy tone.”

Su Moyu’s touched feeling instantly shattered, and the warmth in her heart disappeared too.

“Get lost!” she snapped, annoyed.
