Chapter 3: That Transformation
Soft rays of sunlight broke through the long darkness, gently touching the sleeping figure like a pair of warm hands.
On the wide bed, only a small face could be seen. The petite figure smacked her lips, then, as if the sunlight was too bright, she pulled the blanket over her whole body again.
This was not a very large room, but it felt extremely warm and cozy.
The decoration used warm colors. The floor was covered with a thick carpet, and the white fluffy surface looked very soft just by seeing it.
Through the curtains not far away, several pots of light yellow flowers were stretching freely under the sunlight.
There were still drops of morning dew on their soft petals, and a faint fragrance filled the small space.
The scent was light, but it stayed in the air for a long time, fresh and pleasant.
Looking out from the flower-filled balcony, the rising sun in the distance looked like a soft orange flame, warm but not harsh.
“Mm…”
The person on the bed quietly turned over. Her natural body clock slowly pulled her out of her hazy dream.
“Yawn…”
She raised her hand and gave a small yawn. Her amber-colored eyes, with a bit of natural tears, shone like glass.
This was a very cute girl. Her small body made her look like a large doll.
Her black hair fell loosely around her, slightly messy, but it made her look more lively.
“Is it already morning?” After a while, the girl finally woke up fully and spoke in a soft voice.
She gently pushed away the thin blanket. The smooth pajamas she wore seemed to be made of a special material. After a whole night, there were no wrinkles at all.
Or maybe it was because her sleeping posture was too good?
Since the floor was covered with soft carpet, she stepped down from the bed barefoot.
The temperature in the room was just right, and she didn’t feel uncomfortable after leaving the blanket.
“Huh? When did my room get a carpet?”
Just as she was about to walk, she noticed something was wrong and showed a confused expression.
“No… the colors and layout also seem different. Wait, my clothes? And…!?”
Mu Le’s eyes widened a little. The sleepy feeling from low blood sugar disappeared in an instant.
She looked at her hands in disbelief, then pulled at her clothes.
Finally, she pinched her own face hard. The moment she felt the pain, her face turned pale.
“No… no way?”
Swallowing nervously, Mu Le took a deep breath, then slowly pulled open her smooth pajamas.
“!?”
After seeing what was inside, the shock was too strong. Her vision suddenly went dark, and she completely lost consciousness.

Recently, Xiao Yuze had been busy working with his father. Yesterday, he finally got a few days off, so he slept until he woke up naturally.
Getting out of bed, when he saw the clock pointing at eight, he couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
He had really gotten used to it, waking up this early even without an alarm!
Since he was already awake, he no longer felt sleepy. After thinking for a moment, he got up and went to wash up.
He originally wanted to make some breakfast, but when he saw that the fridge only had beer inside, he couldn’t help but feel speechless.
Even though he had been staying here recently, he usually ate at the company.
And expecting Mu Le, a shut-in, to cook was clearly unrealistic.
After the last time the food ran out, Mu Le probably just left the fridge completely empty.
Shaking his head helplessly, Xiao Yuze got dressed and drove to a nearby supermarket to do a big shopping trip, since he had nothing else to do today.
Because of that, he also lost interest in making breakfast.
So on the way back, he bought some ready-made breakfast instead.
After returning home and putting the groceries into the fridge, he watched the once-empty fridge slowly fill up, and couldn’t help but feel a small sense of achievement.
“Hm? Still not awake?”
After being busy for more than half an hour, Xiao Yuze looked at the clock on the wall and frowned slightly.
Although Mu Le was a shut-in, he didn’t like sleeping in.
Sometimes, he even woke up earlier than Xiao Yuze.
But now it was almost 8:40, and there was still no sound from his room.
Feeling that something was a bit strange, Xiao Yuze walked to the door.
He knocked hard, but there was no response from inside.
“Lele, wake up, breakfast is ready. Are you still sleeping?”
He knocked for a full half minute, but there was still no sound. The silence felt a bit scary.
Did he go out? Xiao Yuze stayed quiet for two seconds, then took out his phone.
He called Mu Le, but until the call ended automatically, there was still no answer.
“Lele? Are you inside? Hey!”
His eyebrows tightened. Mu Le definitely didn’t leave yesterday, so what was going on now…?
After hesitating for a moment, Xiao Yuze turned and went into the study room.
He searched the drawer, took out the spare key to the room, and went back to Mu Le’s door.
“If you don’t answer, I’m coming in, okay?”
He asked again, but as expected, there was still no response.
After a short pause, Xiao Yuze used the spare key to open the door.
When the door finally opened and he saw what was inside, his first thought was… that he had gone into the wrong room.
But then he quickly realized that he had seen all the rooms in this apartment, and none of them looked like this.
His second thought was that Mu Le had secretly redecorated the room.
Then, he saw the small figure lying on the carpet in the distance…
“……”
Xiao Yuze had never believed in love at first sight. He couldn’t even understand those so-called passionate, crazy kinds of love.
He always thought that if he ever liked a girl, it would take a long time, slowly building up little by little.
Only then would those feelings come together and form something warm between two people.
But…
When he saw the girl quietly sleeping on the soft carpet, her cute face so peaceful that he didn’t even want to wake her.
He realized that sometimes, a sudden feeling could be even more powerful than something that slowly grows.
Maybe it was because the sunlight was just right.
Maybe it was because of the gentle scent of flowers in the air.
Maybe it was because of the small, perfect smile at the corner of her lips…
In any case, Xiao Yuze’s heart began to beat faster, beyond his control.
An unfamiliar and unknown feeling slowly began to form.
