Chapter 6: That Confusion
“So… what do we do next?”
After checking the computer, Mu Le became quiet. Sensing the strange mood, Xiao Yuze spoke to break the silence.
“What do we do?” Mu Le turned her head slightly to look at him, then weakly rested her head on the table. “How would I know what to do?”

She walked to the bedside table and picked up her phone, which was still connected to the charger.

The call connected quickly, after only two rings.
“Hello, Lele?”
The voice on the other side was gentle and warm. Just from hearing it, one might imagine a kind and caring older brother.
But in Mu Le’s memory, his appearance was actually quite serious and cold.
“C-cousin…”
Her lips trembled for a while. After the other side called her name a few more times, she finally managed to say the words, though not very clearly.
“Hm? What’s wrong? Your voice sounds a bit hoarse. Are you sick?”
The other person paused, sounding a bit confused.
Mu Le didn’t clearly hear what he said next. Her eyes widened in shock.
“Hello? Lele, are you there? What’s wrong? Hello…!”
Her long silence made the person on the other side worried, and his voice became louder.

“Dizzy? Have you gone to the hospital?”
The clear concern in his voice made Mu Le feel a bit warm inside. “It’s okay, I’m much better now.”
“Really? By the way… in a few days, your sister Meng and I will be going to your city for a business trip. We’ll stop by to see you.”
“Sister Meng is coming too? Okay…”
They talked about a few more random things before Mu Le hung up.
She tossed the phone aside and lay down on the bed, her mind still in a daze.
Her cousin didn’t question her obviously female voice at all… what exactly was going on?
Her thoughts were a complete mess. In that confused state, Mu Le finally fell into a deep sleep.
