Volume 3 Chapter 10: Emergency Situation, Wearing My Rival’s School Uniform!
Lin Lin was squatting in front of the locker and was just about to reach out to open it when she suddenly felt that something was wrong.
Before she could think it through, hurried footsteps suddenly sounded behind her. Lin Lin turned around and saw a cute girl with glasses rushing into the classroom.
It was Classmate Bai.
Why did she suddenly come back? Weren’t all the students supposed to be at the playground with the rest of the school?
Lin Lin was stunned for a moment. She saw Bai breathing hard, then running straight up to her and speaking in a rush.
“Lin… Lin Lin, don’t—don’t open this locker. I’ll lend you my school uniform.”
“You’ll lend it to me?” Lin Lin was confused. “But why? My uniform is in this locker…”
“Don’t…” Xiao Bai looked panicked. She waved her hands quickly and said in a weak voice, “I’ll lend it to you, Lin Lin. There’s no time. You should hurry to the playground. Teacher Zhu is still waiting for you.”
“Does it matter whose uniform I wear?”
Lin Lin was completely confused by her words. She shook her head. She was not used to wearing other people’s clothes and preferred to wear her own.
She reached out, about to open the locker door, when Xiao Bai grabbed her hand again.
“But, Lin Lin… your uniform…”
Xiao Bai lowered her head, looking sad. Lin Lin understood her meaning. She was shocked, then asked,
“W-what happened?”
“Your uniform… I’m sorry, I didn’t do this. I just came earlier today. When I entered the classroom, I saw… I saw Han Kui, she…”
Xiao Bai stuttered, clearly afraid to say it out loud. Lin Lin grew anxious and quickly opened the locker.
【Ding dong. Warning from the killing intent detection ability: the uniform top has been destroyed. Suggestion: there is an intact top in Gao Liang’s locker.】
Ah…
At the moment she opened the locker, Lin Lin saw strips of cloth cut into pieces and torn sleeves. For a moment, her mind went blank.
It was a complete mess.
Her hand shook as she held the locker door. Beside her, Xiao Bai bit her lip and stayed silent, but her eyes were full of worry for Lin Lin.
“I’m sorry…”
After a long silence, Xiao Bai finally spoke. She lowered her head in shame and said,
“I was too weak. I didn’t dare to stop Han Kui. Ever since she lost face to you these few times, she’s gone a bit crazy. She keeps shouting about getting revenge on you and doesn’t care about anything anymore. The few of us… we actually can’t even talk with her properly now.”
“B-but… what did I do wrong?” Lin Lin cried. “What did I ever do to her? How did I offend her at all?”
Without realizing it, tears filled the girl’s eyes. They were full of hurt and anger. She turned to Xiao Bai and said,
“Just now, when I came in, I found glue all over my chair too. That person… why does she do this? I never wronged her. All those challenges were her own idea. Is it just because I’m close to Gao Liang? But she doesn’t even like Gao Liang that much. I…”
As she kept talking, Lin Lin slowly squatted down and began to cry. Seeing her cry, Xiao Bai couldn’t bear it and quickly handed her some tissues.
While handing over the tissues, Xiao Bai also tried to comfort her.
“Lin Lin, you… you don’t cry anymore. It’s my fault. If I had told you earlier to be careful, this wouldn’t have happened. But… I was scared. Han Kui has always been like this. She’s not a good person. I was afraid of being pushed out by her group. I… I really admire you. You don’t just follow others. Um, later, I’ll go with you to find the teacher! For now, wear my uniform and go to the playground!”
“Sniff… but…”
Lin Lin looked up at her. “Then what about you?”
That question could mean two things. Was Lin Lin asking how Xiao Bai would attend the school assembly without a uniform? Or was she asking, if they reported Han Kui together, how Xiao Bai would survive in the class afterward?
After all, no one knew how this would end. Han Kui was becoming more and more extreme, but she still had confidence and backing behind her.
Even if Han Kui were really forced to leave or pushed aside, how would the other classmates look at Xiao Bai? As someone who betrayed her own small group?
But…
At least, Xiao Bai had figured out one thing, Lin Lin was a good person.
A good person should not be treated unfairly.
“I’m fine. If… if I end up having no friends in the class later, Lin Lin, I hope you can be my friend.”
Xiao Bai smiled as she said this. Lin Lin froze for a long moment. After a while, she finally calmed down and nodded slightly.
She was very willing to be Xiao Bai’s friend, but she still felt sad.
Lin Lin was a girl who deeply cared about her belongings. Anything that was hers, she could not stand seeing others touch or damage, let alone destroy.
So she turned her head and looked at her uniform, now ruined into a mess. Her heart still felt sore.
This stupid system… why did it always judge things so unreasonably? It only warned her after she was already facing the problem directly.
If she didn’t react in time, she really wouldn’t know what to do sometimes. But more often than not, there was nothing she could change anyway.
Lin Lin sighed. After thinking it over, she decided not to borrow Xiao Bai’s uniform. She really felt bad letting a helpful girl like Xiao Bai stand at the back behind a group of tall boys, unable to see anything.
So Lin Lin stood up and, using the system’s hint, found Gao Liang’s locker and took out his loose school uniform top.
Anyway, that guy probably wouldn’t come this afternoon. She would… just borrow it for now.
Her long skirt had been pressed under some things, so it was still in good condition. Since the uniform tops for boys and girls were the same, Lin Lin managed to put together a simple uniform.
It was just that… Gao Liang’s clothes were a bit too big on her.
The girl took off her jacket and pulled the uniform top over herself. After putting it on, she tightened the collar, but it still felt strange.
Lin Lin stretched her arms. The wide sleeves and the long top that covered her skirt both felt awkward.
She waved her hand in embarrassment. Forget it, no need to overthink it.
First, go to the playground. After the speech, she would go with Xiao Bai to find Teacher Zhu and let her handle this matter.
Even if there were no cameras, Xiao Bai was a witness!
She turned to Xiao Bai and said, “Let’s go!”
The two of them ran all the way to the playground. Teacher Zhu was already getting anxious while waiting. When she saw Lin Lin arrive, she quickly called her over.
“Xiao Lin, come on, follow me. Come over here and get ready beside the stage.”
