Chapter 246: The First Day of the New Year
When she woke up, it was already close to noon.
On the first day of the new year, An Han changed into the trench coat her father bought for her, yawned, and walked downstairs.
Looking down from the stairs, she saw her father holding his sore lower back while preparing lunch at the dining table.
“Dad, why are you cooking today?”
Her father turned toward her and put yesterday’s leftovers into the microwave. “Your mom is busy during New Year. She’s probably tired and hasn’t gotten up yet.”
“It’s all leftovers anyway. Just heating them is enough.”
“Oh~”
An Han nodded thoughtfully.
It seemed like her mom really suffered a bit last night.
She felt a little scared, the medical report tool really couldn’t be shown to men casually.
That effect was crazy and she didn’t even know if it had any aphrodisiac effect. If it could turn someone into a “wolf,” she might get herself into trouble.
She sat at the dining table waiting for her lunch while reviewing her father’s expression when he looked at the report yesterday.
Even if there was some “effect,” it probably wasn’t too strong, right?
Otherwise her father wouldn’t have acted so calm last night. After leaving her room, he even went downstairs to help her mom with the ancestor rituals and cleaning for almost an hour before things finally quieted down.
Maybe it only made someone a bit too energetic and persistent.
With her chin resting on one hand, An Han wondered whether she could use the medical report on Su Peng.
Su Peng knew she had become a woman halfway through life, but because she always explained things vaguely, he could only guess the reason in his own imagination, just like her parents used to do.

“An Han, where’s your sister?” Her mom’s voice came from upstairs.

She looked happy and full of energy… except that her way of walking downstairs seemed a little strange.
“She’s still brushing her teeth.”
Her mom nodded, slowly walked down, switched into the slippers she used on the first floor, and walked toward her father while softly complaining, “Let me do it. You’re so clumsy.”
Watching her parents leaning close together as they prepared lunch, An Han quietly got up and walked to the back living room.
They really had made up, so much that it felt like they were newly dating again.
But as a single person, she couldn’t stand watching scenes like this.
On the first day of the year, fireworks could still be faintly heard outside. The streets were covered in red firecracker scraps. There were still not many people out, and many shops didn’t plan to open until the fifteenth day of the month.
“An Han, we’re visiting relatives this afternoon.”
Her father placed a bowl of noodles on the table with a pair of chopsticks. “Are you going?”
The leftovers from last night had been mixed and turned into a very rich bowl of noodles by her mother.
“Which relatives?”
“We’re going to your aunt’s house.”
If it were her mom’s side relatives, who already knew about her situation and were busy worrying about cousin marriage issues, that would be fine. But going to her dad’s older sister’s house made her nervous.
She picked up a big shrimp from the bowl, peeling it while asking, “Dad, what do you think?”
“It’s quite far. You and your sister should just stay home.”
Her father cared a lot about face. Even though he had accepted her gender, he still couldn’t handle strange looks and gossip. Recently, whenever he went out, he wrapped a scarf around his mouth and nose, afraid neighbors would talk about them.
“Okay.” An Han was scared too, so she agreed without hesitation.
Right at that moment, her little sister slowly walked downstairs. Their father added to An Han, “We’ll probably be back in one or two days. There’s food in the fridge, just heat it. I’ll also give you some money so you can eat out sometimes.”
All of their aunts’ homes were far away. If they visited every one of them, it usually took at least a full day or two in previous years.
“For real?!”
Before An Han could react, her sister had already rushed over excitedly.
“When are you leaving?”
Clearly, she had been waiting day and night for their parents to go out so she could go wild at home.
She imagined herself staying up all night playing games on her sister’s computer, sleeping whenever she wanted, doing whatever she liked… Her face was already glowing with joy and excitement as she looked at their father.
Seeing her sister like this suddenly made their father a bit uneasy.
Their mother also walked over calmly, smiling gently. “We’ll leave now. If we go early, we can come back early.”
“Yay!”
Then their mother grabbed the hood of the sister’s sweatshirt, dragged her, and pushed her onto the sofa. “Then hurry up and put on your socks and shoes. I’ll help comb your hair too.”

The sister froze, the smile disappearing from her face, the light fading from her eyes. She became like a doll being moved around by their mother.
An Han almost burst out laughing. She took the cash their father handed her and happily finished the big bowl of noodles.
Just moments ago, she had been worrying about how to control her sister while their parents were away now that she had become a girl and lost her authority. But now it seemed her mother had already planned everything.
“Have fun. I’ll watch the house,” she said.
Her sister gave her a side look and muttered softly, “You’ll definitely chat with a bunch of handsome guys on video calls while they’re away.”

The mood in the house froze for a second. An Han’s face changed. “You’re making things up!”
“I see you talk to handsome guys every night! And each call lasts several hours!”
“Nonsense! It’s just one!”
Their parents sighed almost at the same time. They really didn’t understand how An Han had gone from becoming a girl to immediately learning how to “flirt with boys.” She wasn’t even good at studying, yet she seemed strangely talented in this area.
The two of them looked at each other with worry.
“Several, huh…”
“It’s just a classmate playing games together, okay!”
An Han raised her voice to defend herself. “We talk in voice chat to play games, how is that the same as phone calls?!”
Her parents didn’t say anything else. They just nodded, accepting her excuse. Then they quickly packed up and helped her sister get ready to leave for the family visits.
Feeling defeated, An Han collapsed onto the sofa. Watching her family rushing around, she felt like her reputation had been completely ruined by her sister.
But if Su Peng suddenly came over in the next two days, at least she wouldn’t have to worry about her parents kicking him out or kicking him to death.
“Oh, right, Mom!”
As her mother was about to leave, An Han suddenly sat up from the sofa and called out to her.
“What is it?”
“Come look at my medical report!”
“Your report is with me,” her mother said as she put down what she was holding and walked toward the living room. But as soon as she stepped in, she saw An Han holding the system item in her hand and instantly froze.
A moment later, she nodded with understanding. “I see… Does your father know?”
“He knows!”
The item’s side effect took effect immediately, and An Han clearly felt her vision blur as her bangs grew longer.
She pushed aside the hair that was almost covering her eyes and touched the back of her head.
It had already grown back to the length from her last haircut.
