Chapter 250: Classmates’ Revenge
“It’s six o’clock. So far… fifteen people are here.”
After organizing all afternoon, getting fifteen people together was already a decent result.
But Chen Zhiyong still looked a bit unhappy. He turned to the girl next to him and asked, “Why isn’t the Boss here yet?”
“He said he’ll arrive in half an hour. He told us to start eating first.”
The classmates who hadn’t seen each other for a long time were already chatting in small groups even before the reunion officially started. Old grudges from the past had long been forgotten.
People who once fought were now putting arms around each other, laughing about stupid things they did back then.
Those who got caught smoking together were still complaining about the high school dean’s office. Someone secretly looked at the girl who used to be the class beauty, but still didn’t have the courage to go talk to her.
“You got so damn fat!”
“Stayed inside my dorm all the time.”
“Hey, Ziqi is getting prettier and prettier. I wonder if she has a boyfriend now.”
“What about your girlfriend back then? Still together?”
“Where’s An Han? I specially prepared a big gift for him!”
“Yeah, where is he? Did he ditch us?”
“Doesn’t he live nearby?”
The moment someone mentioned him, almost everyone switched topics and started talking about An Han.
Memories of being pranked at the last two reunions came flooding back. They complained loudly about what An Han had done, all while looking around in every direction, hoping to spot him.
A few people even teamed up, planning to go directly to his house to “check his water meter” (basically raid his house as a prank).
As the group got noisier and messier, Chen Zhiyong was about to calm them down when he suddenly noticed someone approaching from a distance.
It was a girl arriving late. She was tall, wearing a long black coat. Her neck, ears, and hands were covered with winter gear, leaving only her face visible. A face that looked extremely familiar.
“Is that… An Han?” Chen Zhiyong tugged on a classmate’s arm in uncertainty.
Even with the bulky coat, she couldn’t hide her slim, delicate figure. Her facial features were refined and beautiful, her skin fair and glowing.
Her long curled eyelashes were lowered slightly, and her brows and eyes carried a soft charm. Every small movement, every expression, had a mature and elegant feminine feel.
She walked from the street corner quietly, yet she had already caught the attention of many people without knowing it.
The classmate squinted toward her, noticed the small mole near her eye, scratched his head, and said, “Why does An Han look… girly now?”
“He turned into a damn sissy!” Chen Zhiyong exclaimed.
Hearing that, the elegant aura An Han had just built instantly shattered. Her face darkened, and she rushed forward at lightning speed, kicking him hard.
“You’re the damn sissy!”
All the cool big-sister vibe she had was destroyed in one second.
Chen Zhiyong stumbled from the kick. Staring at her face up close, he still looked confused.
He gave her a surprised up-and-down look and asked, “Was An Han this girly at last year’s reunion?”
“This is called handsome!” An Han protested unhappily.
“Handsome my ass. You look more like a woman than an actual woman.”
Chen Zhiyong had been An Han’s desk mate in high school, her close bro back then. After going to different universities, they hadn’t talked much. He was also the one who called earlier to ask her to join the reunion.
“Why are there only a few people here? Where’s the Boss?”
An Han crossed her arms. She had already tried her best to hide any feminine movements, but all the classmates were still staring at her in shock.
She could feel every pair of eyes filled with surprise. Seeing everyone’s dropped jaws, she suddenly felt a wave of satisfaction and joy.
Showing up in an unexpected appearance like this… Wasn’t this also a kind of prank?
“Half the people are already in the private room. Boss said he has something urgent and will arrive in half an hour.”
Chen Zhiyong sniffed the faint sweet scent from her and subconsciously stepped away a little.
“Alright, let’s go inside. The food should be coming soon.”
This was a Cantonese restaurant, the same one where they had their graduation dinner after senior year.
The place hadn’t changed at all over the years. With her hands in her coat pockets, An Han tried her best to walk with a “don’t mess with me” attitude.
She tried to stand up straight and make her gaze sharper to reduce the soft, gentle look in her eyes.
Unfortunately, none of that seemed to work.
“Did An Han go get plastic surgery?”
“She’s much cuter than before~”
“She didn’t look like this last year, right?”
The old classmates whispered among themselves. To show her “manly” side, An Han hooked her arm around Chen Zhiyong’s neck and lazily asked on purpose, “You guys didn’t set me up, right?”
“How is that possible?”
Chen Zhiyong’s smile looked a bit forced.
“How much did ordering the food cost? Who should I transfer the money to?”
“We’ll talk about it after we eat. It shouldn’t be more than one hundred.”
When they reached the private room on the second floor of the restaurant, An Han suddenly noticed that all the old classmates stopped walking. They all turned to look at her again.
Something’s wrong!
She instinctively stepped back, becoming more alert, and carefully looked at them. “What’s going on? Move! If no one leads the way, how do I know which room it is?”
“It’s the one right in front of you.” Chen Zhiyong pulled his arm out of her grip. “You go first.”
“I can already tell there’s something fishy!”
An Han muttered nervously. But with all the old classmates watching her, she didn’t want to ruin her image again after already embarrassing herself in front of her mother, sister, and father.
So she took a deep breath, walked straight ahead, and at almost the first glance, she saw the half-open door of the private room.
Isn’t this my old trick?
An Han scoffed inwardly. She stretched out her leg and gently pushed the door with the tip of her toe from a distance.
Clang!
An empty soda can hit the floor and rolled into the room.
She heard several disappointed sighs around her.
“That’s it?”
An Han almost laughed. She then walked forward and pushed the door all the way open.
But the next second—BANG!—a loud firecracker popped right beside her foot.
An Han was so scared she jumped into the air. She stumbled back again and again until her back hit the wall. Breathing hard, she stared with wide, terrified eyes at the corner where the firecracker sound came from.
“Did you record it?”
Amid loud teasing and laughter that sounded like ghosts wailing, Chen Zhiyong walked into the room and asked the classmates who were already inside.
“We got it!”
“Recorded from multiple angles!”
“Did we scare the wrong person?”
“No, he’s just this girly now.”
“Wait, I think An Han is crying...”
An Han immediately stood up straight on her shaky legs. Her eyes were watery, but she fought back confidently.
“Cry my ass! Why make everything so flashy just for a meal?!”
She wasn’t actually angry. After all, everyone here had been pranked by her before.
Still shaken, she casually found a seat and sat down, finally letting out a long breath as her racing heartbeat slowly calmed.
“How did you become so easy to bully?” Another old classmate sat beside her, teasing with a smile. “You look more girly now, and your personality is girly too.”
The voice sounded very familiar, he was the kid she used to bully all the time back then.
“You’re asking for a beating, aren’t you...”
She lifted her arm like she was going to roll up her sleeves and hit him, but then instantly backed down. Her tone softened a lot.
“You… started working out?”
That muscle, she could see it even through a winter jacket.
The little guy who used to follow behind her every day, getting bullied nonstop by her, now had chest muscles that were almost more developed than hers.
It wasn’t only her who changed this past year. Everyone else became more mature, more manly, more handsome, or more beautiful. Only she had turned straight into a girl.
