Chapter 253: Meeting Again
Su Peng barely slept the whole night.
The dog in his family had been raised for more than ten years and was almost like a family member.
The dog was old and had fallen seriously ill, though luckily the hospital’s diagnosis was fairly positive.
Because they were worried something might suddenly happen again, and since Su Peng’s family was not short on money, they simply let the dog stay in the pet hospital, where professional vets could take care of it.
He often stayed up late with An Han anyway, but after almost a full night without sleep, the dark circles under his eyes were even worse.
The sky outside was already bright. Su Peng got up from his bed, yawned, and, like always, sent An Han a “Good morning.”
He waited for a moment, but there was no reply. He didn’t mind, after all, An Han usually woke up around ten.
He wanted to tell An Han about his bad mood, but he was also afraid that his negative feelings might spread to An Han and make her own unstable emotions even worse.
“Dad, I’m going to the hospital to check on Wangcai,” he shouted as he stepped out of his room toward his father in the study.
“The hospital opens at ten. We’ll go together then.”
“Okay.”
Su Peng’s father, Su Guangyu, used to be just a young migrant worker who came to the city for work. But he happened to catch a wave of good opportunities, and now he had become a fairly well-known local businessman.
When he finished the temporary work he was doing, it happened to be around ten.
Walking out of the study, Su Guangyu saw his son playing on his phone by the window. His steps naturally became lighter. He sneaked up and peeked over Su Peng’s shoulder.
His eyesight was still good, he saw the name saved in the chat at a glance.
“An Han?”
Su Peng was shocked and quickly hid his phone.
“That little girlfriend of yours? Why don’t you bring her home and let us meet her?” His father understood immediately, smiling as he wrapped an arm around Su Peng’s shoulder.
“There’s nothing between us,” Su Peng said.
“Then you’d better confess soon. If someone else steals her away, you’ll cry later.”
Su Peng didn’t want to discuss his personal matters with his father, so he changed the subject. “Anyway, it’s ten. Should we go to the hospital now?”
While speaking, he sent a message to An Han, “I’m going to the pet hospital. Talk later.”
“What hospital?” An Han replied with curiosity.
“PetCare. It’s the best pet hospital around here.”
“Oh~”
Putting down his phone, Su Peng saw his father’s gossip-loving expression and sighed helplessly. “Worry about Wangcai first.”
“The doctor said it’s nothing serious.”
The father and son left their small villa and rented two shared bicycles by the street, riding toward the hospital.
The hospital wasn’t far and was located in the narrow streets of the old town. Parking spots were scarce, and neither of them wanted to deal with driving.

An Han quickly rolled out of the hotel bed. She looked up the PetCare Hospital’s address on her phone map while hurriedly putting on her clothes.
She had to dress nicely…
She was about to put on her leggings when her eyes landed on the trench coat.
No, she had to wear the trench coat!
She had just gotten the “mature big-sister” attribute and had to show it off in front of Su Peng. Judging from the reaction at the reunion last night, her big-sister style was clearly very eye-catching.
And since she wanted this to be a surprise, changing her style would make Su Peng’s shocked face even funnier.
Humming a little tune, she put on the trench coat, slipped into her white sneakers, and excitedly left the hotel room.

There was a small pet clinic near the hotel. An Han went in and bought a big bone-shaped chew stick. Just as she was leaving, the ride-hailing car she ordered arrived.
After getting into the ride-hailing car, An Han was already imagining the look on Su Peng’s face when he saw her. It would definitely be fun~
That shocked expression would probably be even better than watching someone suffer from a prank.
About twenty minutes later, feeling very happy, An Han got out of the car. She looked up at the PetCare Hospital across the street, then turned around and walked into a nearby noodle shop.
First, she needed to fill her stomach.
And she could also stay inside the shop and wait for Su Peng.
“Boss, one bowl of mixed noodles and wontons.”
Sitting at the small table, An Han rested her chin on one hand, looking at the hospital across the street. While imagining Su Peng’s shocked face, she also thought about where they could go to have fun these next two days.
She had to be home before tomorrow evening, or else she wouldn’t be able to explain it to her parents.
So she had about a day and a half… almost like going on a mini vacation.
After checking all the nearby sightseeing spots, she still felt that going to an internet café with Su Peng would be the most fun…

There was even a video game museum nearby that supposedly had almost every console ever made since home gaming started. That could be fun too.
So… where was Su Peng?
She had already finished eating and paid the bill. It had been almost an hour since Su Peng said he was heading to the hospital.
She looked at the hospital again in confusion. Even while eating, she had been watching the entrance the whole time. There was no way she would miss him, right?
“Could it be that there are two hospitals with the same name? Maybe it’s a chain?”
But when she searched earlier, the map only showed one.
The dishes had been cleared away, and An Han didn’t feel comfortable staying in the shop anymore. She walked out to the street corner, looking left and right across the road, hoping to see a Crown car or any fancy-looking car.
At that moment, Su Peng was just slowly arriving in the area with his father, both riding shared bicycles.
They had just finished eating Cantonese dim sum at a restaurant. Su Peng’s father wasn’t in a rush at all, but Su Peng’s mind had long been fixed on Wangcai, who was staying at the hospital.
“Dad, ride faster.”
“I care more about the dog than you do,” his father muttered. With his small beer belly and a too-full stomach, he yawned lazily. “You’re too worried. If something was wrong, the doctor would have called us.”
“I just want to see if the dog is doing better.”
As he spoke, Su Peng’s eyes, originally looking straight ahead, were suddenly drawn to a tall girl wearing a trench coat standing on the side of the street.
He couldn’t see her face, but he felt a strong sense of familiarity.
Maybe she was someone he had met on a blind date?

“See someone you know?” Su Guangyu followed his son’s gaze and also spotted the girl. “Her hair is a bit short.”

Father and son parked their shared bikes at the hospital entrance.

He had just convinced himself that he was imagining things, when suddenly the girl lifted her head. As if something pulled their attention together, their eyes met from across the ten-meter-wide road.
Su Peng couldn’t control his expression anymore, shocked and happy at the same time. His heart instantly sped up.
Meanwhile, An Han’s face turned bright red. She instinctively rushed toward the road but froze halfway.
“She really does look more mature now. At least she doesn’t randomly run across the street anymore,” Su Peng sighed
But An Han was dying from embarrassment and wanted to run away.
That middle-aged man beside Su Peng…
That was obviously his dad!
