Chapter 258: Internet Cafe
For An Han, shopping or sightseeing didn’t sound very interesting.
Even though she came all the way here just to play games in an internet café with Su Peng, she didn’t feel bored or regretful at all. In fact, she was very excited, even though they lost three games in a row.
Losing the game wasn’t a big deal. An Han’s mood was still good, she was just hungry.
“It’s time for lunch,” she said while rubbing her belly. The porridge she drank in the morning didn’t keep her full.
Su Peng glanced at the computer’s clock and realized it was already eleven. Time always went by fast when he was with An Han.
He stayed quiet for a moment, then remembered that in about two hours, An Han had to leave for the train station.
“What do you want to eat? Should we find a nice restaurant?”
An Han frowned slightly and shook her head hard. “It’s freezing outside. Let’s eat fried noodles. Order delivery.”
“Okay.”
Su Peng took care of ordering food, while An Han leaned back on the sofa, took off her shoes, curled her legs, and tucked herself into a ball with her socks on.
She found a cute-pet video compilation online and started watching it with great interest. From time to time she called out to Su Peng.
“Look at this cat. So silly~”
“A corgi’s butt is really big.”
“These short-legged cats are way too cute~ Look at the tiny legs!”
Su Peng leaned over too. While watching with her, he also focused on placing the food order.
“What do you want to add to your fried noodles?”
“Add everything! Whatever they have!”
“I placed the order. Take a look.”
An Han didn’t even turn her head. Her eyes stayed on the screen. She waved her hand lazily. “I trust you. I’m watching a video, no time.”
Su Peng finished the order, collected some reward points from the app, then asked, “Do you want to get a cat? I could give you one…”
“No. Watching them online is enough. Too much trouble.”
Just a moment ago she had a big happy smile because of the pet videos, but now her face showed pure dislike.
Whether cats or dogs, they all shed so much hair, and you have to deal with poop, health problems, how much exercise they need…
Raising a pet was basically like raising a child. After thinking about all the trouble, she lost all desire to get a pet.
Seeing that Su Peng also enjoyed watching pet videos, An Han shifted her body a bit, squeezing herself into the corner of the sofa seat.
“If you want to watch, come closer.”
Su Peng moved closer without hesitation. Now that they were near each other, the sweet scent on An Han’s body became even stronger.
She glanced at him, then stretched out her curled legs and placed them on his thigh. She slid down a little and ended up half lying on the seat, comfortably continuing to watch the screen.
Today she was wearing slim-fit pants. The pants hugged her long legs tightly, and from Su Peng’s angle, he could clearly see the curve of those long legs.
But he only glanced once. Then he leaned back on the sofa too. One hand rested casually on her knee, while the other hand played with his phone, checking the food delivery, or looking up at the pet videos on the screen.
Before long, one video ended.
“Help me change the video.”
Half lying on the seat, An Han stretched out her arm but could barely reach the mouse.
When the video switched to a food-review show, she suddenly felt something different. Her face wasn’t as warm anymore.
Normally, Su Peng would have already been embarrassed at this distance, and she would feel his eyes secretly watching her.
But this time, Su Peng didn’t react at all. He seemed to be thinking about something.
An Han secretly glanced at his face. It was completely blank, she couldn’t read any emotion.
But most of the time, whenever Su Peng was with her, he always had a gentle smile on his face.
“Are you in a bad mood?” she asked.
“I'm… okay, I guess.”
“Tell me?” An Han sat up straight.
After thinking for a moment, Su Peng showed a slightly bitter smile. “In the second half of this year, I’m going abroad to study…”
“Oh~ you mentioned that before. I know,” An Han said casually. “Isn’t studying abroad a good thing? You don’t like foreign countries?”
“It’s not that… I’m just worried about you when I’m not here.”
She almost laughed. “Without you, I’m going to die or something?”
“That’s not what I mean.”
Su Peng looked a little panicked. They weren’t even a couple yet, so he didn’t dare to speak too directly.
His last confession already caused him enough trouble. Now he was always afraid he would say something that upset her. Last time he really was too aggressive.
“What country?”
“England.”
An Han’s father also worked in England. She froze for a moment, imagining her father running into Su Peng abroad, and asked, “If your blind date works out, will you also bring her with you overseas?”
“Mm… maybe we’ll go together…”
“Oh~”
An Han nodded thoughtfully, then just continued watching the video and didn’t respond to him anymore.
Su Peng scratched his head awkwardly. Then he asked in a hesitant voice, “How about… you come to England with me?”
Those words were basically a confession again.
But An Han didn’t notice and simply shook her head. “I hate foreign countries. And my English is bad.”
“I think when I was in high school, my dad wanted me to go study in England with him. He was working there too…” She tried to recall things from years ago and explained, “But because of fake information, I wasn’t allowed to apply again for ten years.”
“What…”
“My mom didn’t have a job, but insisted on making a fake job certificate. And the bank records were faked by someone else helping us.” She muttered, “They found out, so the visa got rejected.”
During the visa process, someone called An Han to confirm the information. She accidentally said something wrong… mostly because her parents didn’t tell her the details beforehand.
Su Peng let out a tired sigh. “Alright.”
He had actually hoped he could convince her to go abroad too.
“But my dad works over there. When you go study abroad, I can ask him to take good care of you,” An Han said, purposely using a “I’m doing you a favor” kind of tone.
“That’s great.”
Su Peng’s gloomy mood instantly disappeared. Besides studying abroad, he could also try winning over his future father-in-law. Unfortunately, his future mother-in-law didn’t seem to like him much. That part was going to be harder.
“You’re getting a huge advantage, you know.”
An Han didn’t think much of it. She tilted her head proudly and said, “You don’t know anyone over there. If you die outside, no one would even know.”
“Yes, yes.”
She shifted around until she found a better position, lying almost completely on the sofa chair. Her legs stretched past Su Peng’s lap, and her calves rested on the other armrest. Once comfortable, she asked with a smug tone, “So why aren’t you thanking me?”
Su Peng lowered his head to look at her.
Her face was still slightly red, lifted up toward him… almost like she was waiting for him to come closer.
He really couldn’t understand her thoughts.
But in this position, plus how she had been acting these past two days…
She’s trying to seduce me, right?
As soon as the thought appeared, Su Peng leaned down toward her without hesitation. “Then I’ll thank you properly.”
“Hey!”
An Han’s eyes widened. Seeing his face getting closer, she panicked and blocked her face with her arm. “No! Get away!”
Last time, at least he confessed before suddenly kissing her!
Su Peng froze immediately. An Han quickly sat up and scooted away from him. “Pervert!”
“My fault…”
Another misunderstanding. Why did I overthink everything again?!
How could someone like An Han be seducing him? She simply trusted him and didn’t guard herself around him.
Su Peng covered his face with one hand, leaning against the desk. If misunderstandings like this happened a few more times, she might actually cut ties with him.
“Then… how about I buy you something to apologize?” he asked, trying to think of a way to fix his image.
But suddenly a cool, soft touch brushed against his cheek. Light, quick, and gone in an instant.
He turned his head in shock.
An Han sat there with her legs crossed, staring straight at the computer screen as if nothing happened.
But her face… was as red as the prettiest flower.
Su Peng couldn’t help but think…
Maybe An Han actually prefers making the first move, rather than being the one kissed.
