Chapter 260: Going Back Home

Su Peng is really something! He had just confessed, and then he already started touching her everywhere!

And her body was really useless too! Because of that, she even had to book a short-stay room just to take another shower.

That “sensitive” attribute really did make her more sensitive…

It’s all the system’s fault! Of all the attribute points it could give, why did it have to give her something so embarrassing?

After saying goodbye to Su Peng, that evening, An Han carried her bag and nervously peeked around the corner of the alley toward her house.

The door was wide open. Her parents and little sister came home in the afternoon. She, however, had been dragging her feet, and only came back slowly after they called and urged her.

Yeah… she was scared.

She had been excited when she left home, and very happy when she was with Su Peng. But everything had a price.

Sneaking out to meet Su Peng, officially confirming their relationship, and doing things that went beyond normal friendship… If her parents found out, they would definitely give her a long-lost “family beating.”

Both of them were firmly against her getting a boyfriend right now.

Whenever she heard her little sister screaming from getting disciplined, An Han was sure her parents could be just as tough on her.

After giving herself a bit of mental prep at the alley entrance, she rubbed her face, forced a smile, and ran toward the house as if she had rushed home the moment she heard her parents.

“Mom, Dad! Why did you come back so early…?”

She rushed inside while calling out, but the moment she entered, she saw her parents sitting at the table, both staring at her with cold faces.

Her words stopped, her smile froze, and one hand stayed on the door. One of her feet was already trying to quietly step back outside.

“Where have you been these two days?” her mother asked. Her tone sounded calm, but the anger hidden inside was obvious.

“I just went shopping with Lin Yue this afternoon,” An Han said quickly, trying to explain. “When you called me, we were watching a movie. If you don’t believe me…”

“An Han, did you call me?”

From the living room behind them, Lin Yue’s head popped out. She still had a piece of snack in her mouth, and her big eyes looked innocent. “I’m visiting your house!”

Right below her head, another small head popped out. “Sister! Did you go on a date with a handsome guy?!”

Please stop talking!

“……”

Seeing her parents’ expressions grow colder and colder, An Han immediately shut her mouth.

“Come here!”

Her mother’s face was already showing anger. An Han looked at her father for help, but he was completely on her mother’s side. After glancing at Mom’s expression, his face also turned angry.

So unfair! I even helped you make up with Mom! That night when you were so energetic, that was partly thanks to me!

Lowering her head like a guilty child, An Han slowly walked over to the table.

“Mom, there are guests here…” she whispered.

Her mother took a deep breath, forcing her anger down for the moment. Her father also changed his expression right away to match her.

Seeing that the situation was temporarily delayed, An Han finally let out a breath of relief and hurried upstairs.

“Lin Yue! I’ll come play with you later!”

She ran to the bathroom on the second floor, dumped all the dirty clothes from her bag into the washing machine, and then looked up at her own delicate face in the mirror.

What should she do next…

Sighing, she carried her now-empty bag to her bedroom on the third floor, took off the long coat, and changed into her usual home clothes.

If her parents discovered the different “aura” she had while wearing that coat, she wouldn’t be able to explain it.

When she came home just now she was panicked and embarrassed, so she probably hadn’t shown her usual “older-sister” style anyway.

“Come down for dinner!”

After staying upstairs for half an hour, An Han heard her mother calling from the first floor.

She had wanted to hide in her room and not come out, but she had no choice except to go downstairs and sit at the dining table.

Lin Yue sat beside her with a big smile, teasing her little sister while secretly glancing at An Han’s red face from time to time.

“Why are you here…?” An Han whispered.

“Your dad came to my house this afternoon to give New Year greetings~ I wanted to find you, so I came along,” Lin Yue said.

Seeing An Han’s hopeless expression, Lin Yue couldn’t help covering her mouth and laughing. Her eyes curved with amusement. “How was I supposed to know you’d use me as a shield?”

“She didn’t know you were here either!” Mother suddenly placed a bowl of rice down in front of An Han with a loud thump. “Look at Lin Yue, and then look at you! You’re a girl, but you act so wild every day! Look how quiet and well-behaved she is!”

She is not quiet at all when we go shopping…

An Han complained in her heart but didn’t dare say a single word back. She placed both hands on her thighs like a well-behaved child, sat straight, and lowered her head, looking completely like someone admitting her mistake.

“Mom, we have a guest,” she whispered. “Don’t ruin your image.”

When her mother put the rice bowl in front of Lin Yue, her face was already full of warmth, and her voice became soft and kind. “Eat more while you’re here. When you go home later, should I ask An Han to send you?”

“Thank you, Auntie~ It’s okay, I don’t live far,” Lin Yue replied sweetly.

“Ay, such a good girl.”

An Han sighed. She had to admit Lin Yue’s personality was more likable than hers.

But when she visited Su Peng’s house, his parents also thought she was great in every way.

“Sister~” Her little sister, sitting on the other side of the table, asked curiously, “Where did you actually go these two days?”

“What two days? It was just today. I just… went to a classmate gathering!”

“Oh! I know! Someone said he was your classmate and came looking for you this afternoon!”

“……”

“He was pretty handsome! I think I’ve seen him before.”

No need to guess, if someone came looking for her, it was either Shi Yi or Chen Zhiyong. Those two sometimes visited during high school, so it was normal her sister remembered them.

The whole dinner was torture for An Han. She kept her head down, eating as fast as she could, hoping to finish quickly and escape upstairs.

Her mother’s cold eyes kept sweeping over her, and her father’s worried yet angry expression…

Looks like Dad was angry too. She thought he was only the soft one.

An Han planned to hide in her room for the rest of the night. If she simply survived today, maybe her parents’ anger would calm down by tomorrow.

With her sister fooling around at the table and her parents talking kindly to Lin Yue, it felt like An Han was the only one “serving a prison sentence.”

“Hey, Lin Yue,” An Han suddenly looked up. “Why don’t you stay over tonight?”

“Huh?”

“We haven’t seen each other for days. I missed you,” she said sincerely. “And I want you to teach me how to do makeup tonight.”

“Hmph!” Mother let out a cold snort, completely seeing through An Han’s thoughts.

Lin Yue looked flustered and waved her hands. “I can’t. My dad won’t let me stay out overnight.”

“It’s fine, you can call and ask at least?”

“No, still no. My dad is very strict. Usually when I go out, he even makes my older cousin follow me.”

…Okay then.

An Han could only give up resisting fate.

Well then… time to accept the scolding and punishment…
