Chapter 14: Because a Head Pat Feels Reassuring
Su Moyu fell asleep in a daze. Suddenly, she felt a bit cold. She instinctively reached out to grab the blanket, but instead, she felt something warm in front of her and leaned right into it.
So the next morning, when Su Moyu woke up, she found herself lying in someone’s arms.
She blinked. In her view was Bai Shuchuan’s shoulder. Only then did she realize one of her arms was resting on his chest. She was lying on her side, her upper body pressed closely against him…
Her nose was filled with his faint scent. She moved slightly, and the softness on her chest brushed against his arm. She paused, her cheeks suddenly warming up, and then she heard his voice.
“Awake?” Bai Shuchuan said in a hoarse voice.
Su Moyu quickly moved away, her mind still recalling what she had just felt.
She… wasn’t wearing anything!
She secretly looked at Bai Shuchuan’s reaction. He simply sat up and scratched his head.
“You sleep pretty badly,” he complained, looking sleepy.
Su Moyu blinked and showed a bit of apology on her face.
“Sorry, I was half-asleep.”
“It’s fine. It was a bit cold last night.”
Su Moyu smiled. “About just now… I didn’t touch anything, right?”
Bai Shuchuan sat up and thought for a moment. “Felt okay, I guess.”
“Even though you’re not really a girl,” he added.
Su Moyu’s face instantly turned red. “You’re such a pervert.”
Bai Shuchuan frowned. “You were the one who asked…”
“Even so, you didn’t have to say it out loud.”
Bai Shuchuan looked at her face. Her eyes were clear, but a thin layer of moisture from embarrassment made them look soft.
He paused, then said, “Sorry, that was inappropriate.”
Su Moyu waved her hand. “Alright, alright. I should be more careful too.”
She got out of bed. The cold air made her shiver.
“It’s a bit cold over there. Wear more clothes,” Bai Shuchuan said.
“Okay,” Su Moyu replied. She walked to the wardrobe and opened it, feeling a slight excitement inside.
Well, wearing pretty clothes is always nice.
Being a girl isn’t so bad~
Sleeping in a nightdress is pretty comfortable too.
Thinking this, she picked an outfit from the hanger.

She took off her clothes and looked at the thin black stockings in her hand. She felt light-hearted, but also a bit embarrassed.
Well, she was a girl now anyway. No matter what, Bai Shuchuan wouldn’t suddenly pull the stockings off her.
She carefully put them on, then wore a gray-white fitted skirt and added a simple black coat on top.
The stockings felt tight around her legs in a strange but comfortable way.

Su Moyu felt a bit proud of herself, then walked out.
As expected, when Bai Shuchuan saw her outfit, he froze.
Su Moyu smiled softly. Even though the embarrassment inside her kept growing and made her cheeks warm, her voice sounded calm.
“How do I look? Pretty, right?”
Bai Shuchuan opened his mouth as if to say something, but held it back. His eyes briefly moved over her legs, then returned to her face.
“Pretty.”
“Tell me honestly.”
Bai Shuchuan covered his face, feeling like he might explode just by looking at her.
“Su Moyu.”
“Yeah?” Su Moyu replied calmly, now really curious about his opinion.
“You look… kind of seductive.”
Su Moyu’s sense of embarrassment instantly shot up, and her whole face turned red.
“I wore this on purpose just to mess with you,” she said, crossing her arms. “You kept complaining about me yesterday.”
Bai Shuchuan took a deep breath and licked his lips, as if thinking about something.
“Alright, let’s just leave it for today.”
“…Is it really that bad?” Su Moyu asked.
“No. Actually, you’re very pretty, and this outfit looks good too,” Bai Shuchuan replied. “It just feels a bit strange to me.”
Su Moyu felt pleased again. “That’s your problem. Alright, wash up, we should get going.”
Bai Shuchuan watched as she turned and walked back into the bathroom. For some reason, he suddenly remembered how she looked while sleeping this morning. Her soft pink lips slightly open, her eyelashes long and thick…
And the soft feeling from her body earlier. He could even recall her faint scent, like a mix of osmanthus flowers and grapefruit peel.
Something inside him stirred, but it was quickly covered by an unknown feeling of discomfort.

Su Moyu carefully stepped out of the elevator. After wearing high heels before, flat shoes now felt so comfortable and natural.
She lowered her head and finished eating the bun in her hand. After just one, she was already full, so she casually stuffed the rest into Bai Shuchuan’s hand.
“I can’t eat anymore. You eat it, don’t waste it.”
Bai Shuchuan frowned. Knowing her habits, she would probably get hungry again later.
He understood this well. Back in high school, even when they weren’t in the same class, she would call him out during evening study sessions to sneak to the convenience store when she got hungry.
He finished the bun and then heard her say,
“I didn’t expect that after coming to this world, I’d have an extra 1,000 in my account. My dad actually gives this version of me 2,500 every month. That’s so unfair. 1,000 more than before,” Su Moyu complained.
Raising sons poor and daughters rich… this world really isn’t fair.
She complained silently in her heart. But, she felt a bit relieved. At least now she was the one being treated better.
“It seems like we’re living pretty well in this world,” Su Moyu added.
Bai Shuchuan smiled helplessly. He didn’t know how to tell her that they would soon have to deal with a house loan…

At that moment, Su Moyu turned back to look at him. Bai Shuchuan met her eyes, but as her smile slowly faded, he blinked in confusion, and she frowned.
“What? You don’t want to go out with me that much?”
Bai Shuchuan shook his head. “I just suddenly thought of something.”
Su Moyu felt like she might have misunderstood him.
“When we’re out having fun, don’t think about sad things,” she said.
Then she stepped closer to him and stood on her tiptoes. Bai Shuchuan was a bit surprised, but then he saw her raise her hand. The next moment, he felt a warm touch on his head. The soft brushing of her fingers through his hair, and the gentle feeling of her palm.
Bai Shuchuan felt a bit lost and could only stare at her, unable to say anything.
“Why did you suddenly…?”
Su Moyu blinked playfully. “Because patting someone’s head makes them feel at ease. And from other people’s view, it’s not strange, right? After all, we look like a couple.”
Bai Shuchuan swallowed. The strange warmth in his chest made him feel a bit flustered.
