Chapter 21: I Just Want to Make You Happy
“I’m just saying, if you need help, you can come to me,” Bai Shuchuan cleared his throat and continued. “Didn’t you say you plan to live alone?”
Su Moyu nodded thoughtfully, then showed a relaxed smile. “Can you not think I’m that useless? I lived alone all through high school too, okay? It feels like you’re treating me like some girl who can’t do anything. I’m not like that.”
As she spoke, Su Moyu handed the small bowl in her hand to Bai Shuchuan. “Since you’re so willing to help, go get me some ice cream~”
Bai Shuchuan sighed. He stared at the small bowl for a moment, his voice sounding both helpless and gentle.
“I didn’t say you could treat me like a servant.”
Hearing his voice, Su Moyu felt strangely light and happy inside.
Bai Shuchuan then stood up and went to get ice cream for her.
Su Moyu watched his back and pressed her soft lips together.
“Typical, says one thing but does another.”
She muttered to herself, staring at the fizzy soda beside her.
Could it be that this guy actually likes her?
Su Moyu started thinking about it.
But didn’t he dislike her before? Could it be that everything he showed before was just him saying one thing but feeling another?
Then Su Moyu imagined what it would be like if Bai Shuchuan turned into a…
A short-haired girl with a baby face, wearing a JK uniform and white thigh-high socks.

This small resort had rental vehicles, so Bai Shuchuan just let Su Moyu lead him around.
The cooking workshop taught simple desserts and baking, along with some local dishes. As soon as Bai Shuchuan learned about the content, he knew she would probably stay there the whole afternoon.
“Bai Shuchuan, help me cut this.”
“Pass me the knife, please~”
“Help me spread a layer of cream~”
Bai Shuchuan worked hard the whole afternoon without complaining. When he saw Su Moyu holding the messy-looking cake in her hands, he finally let out a long breath.
It’s finally over…
Su Moyu frowned and looked at the display items in the cabinet. What she made really looked… hard to look at.
“For a beginner, making something like this on your first try is already very good,” the shop assistant said gently to comfort her.
Even so, Su Moyu still felt quite frustrated.
Bai Shuchuan sat to the side to rest. He looked at Su Moyu in the distance, holding the freshly baked cake. She was wearing a pink apron with a white cat printed on it.
No matter how he looked at her, she really looked like a girl.
Seeing her looking so down, Bai Shuchuan’s gaze softened a bit.
“Maybe it tastes good. Let your partner try it,” the assistant said kindly.
Hearing that gentle tone, Bai Shuchuan somehow felt those words sounded a little fake.
“True.” Su Moyu took a deep breath, and her eyes became bright again. The next moment, she looked at Bai Shuchuan and walked over to sit in front of him with the cake.
“Come on, try the result of our hard work!” she said. She picked up the knife, cut a small piece, and carefully put it into a paper box.
It was already evening. The warm, dim sunlight came through the large window and shone on Su Moyu. The hair on her shoulders looked golden in the light.
Bai Shuchuan looked at her side profile. Her movements were a bit clumsy, and there was a little cream on her fingers.
As Bai Shuchuan sat up from leaning on the table, he suddenly felt something cold on his face. He froze for a moment, then wiped it off. Seeing the cream on his fingers, he heard a light, bell-like laugh.
“Try it quickly,” Su Moyu said as she placed the small piece of cake in front of him, even thoughtfully adding a small fork.
Bai Shuchuan looked at her smiling face. The sunlight fell on her cheek, and the tiny soft hairs on her face seemed to glow faintly in the light.
So beautiful…
He thought this without realizing it.
Every time he saw Su Moyu so happy, his mood would also become better for no clear reason.
Feelings are easy to spread. Bai Shuchuan picked up the fork and took a bite of the cake.
Su Moyu looked at him with a face full of expectation.
Bai Shuchuan calmly held back his reaction. The cake felt dry, and the jam tasted very, very sour.
His brows slightly frowned. When he looked up, he saw Su Moyu looking a bit surprised.
“Is it not good?”
Her eyes flickered. Bai Shuchuan looked at the cake in his hand again and answered, “It’s pretty good.”
“Really?” Su Moyu’s eyes lit up again. She sat down in front of him and cut a piece for herself.
She couldn’t wait to try what she made.
Watching her put a bite of cake into her mouth, Bai Shuchuan suddenly felt a headache coming.

“Ugh, why is it so bad?” Su Moyu made a pained face, but still swallowed the cake.
“How could you lie to me?” she complained, seeing Bai Shuchuan calmly take another bite. “So sneaky, you just wanted me to suffer with you.”
Bai Shuchuan couldn’t help but laugh. He opened his mouth to say something, but hesitated.
Well… maybe calling him sneaky isn’t wrong.
Su Moyu suddenly felt a bit down.
“I just wanted to make you happy,” Bai Shuchuan explained.
