Chapter 25: Why Did You Lie to Me
“That… won’t go that far, right?” Bai Shuchuan said with a smile.
“What if I really did that? What would you do?” Su Moyu looked at him with a mischievous smile.
“I’d hit you.”
Su Moyu blinked her big eyes. “How could you do that? You would be the one breaking your promise first. Even if I scared your girlfriend away, you can’t do anything to me.”
Bai Shuchuan pulled his hand back. Somehow, she had twisted things and made it sound like she was right.
“But there’s no need to scare my girlfriend away,” he said helplessly.
Actually, for a brief moment just now, he had thought about a question.

“Okay,” Bai Shuchuan replied. He got off the bed, took his clothes, and went into the bathroom.
Su Moyu lay down lazily on her side and sent the photos she took to Zhou Ya.
“Wow! They all look so pretty!” Zhou Ya replied immediately.
The light from the phone screen reflected on her face. Seeing Zhou Ya’s reply and stickers, her eyes filled with a bit of happiness again.
Su Moyu turned over. Honestly, having such a big bed felt great. She felt like this bed could fit four of her.
Her attention was drawn to Bai Shuchuan’s phone charging by the bedside. Notifications kept popping up, which made her curious. At that moment, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.

He felt that something was wrong. Walking up to her, she slowly raised her head. Her eyes were red and full of blood vessels.
“Why did you lie to me?”
Su Moyu asked in a trembling voice.
Bai Shuchuan’s heart sank, but he still asked carefully, “What do you mean…?”
Su Moyu threw the phone onto the bed in front of him.
Bai Shuchuan opened the message, and his expression changed to surprise.
“Why did you hide something so important from me?”
Su Moyu grabbed his clothes, and her eyes quickly turned red.
“I saw you were distracted today, and I thought you just didn’t want to come out…” she looked at him, her voice a bit hoarse. “I even wanted to take you to watch the sunrise, worrying that you wouldn’t be happy…”
“But why would you hide something this important from me?” she asked again.
Bai Shuchuan lowered his eyes and didn’t look at her.

“Just to come out and have fun with me, you were willing to ignore something this serious about your dad?” Su Moyu swallowed, her lips already pale, her voice becoming sharper. “Then wouldn’t that make me unreasonable… childish…?”
“What if something bad really happened, and because of me, you couldn’t even see your dad one last time??”
“Do you know how guilty I would feel? How sad I would be? I’m not someone you can’t talk to…” Her voice suddenly broke with tears. “Just because I wanted to go out and have fun, something this important got delayed… you… you actually still…”
Her voice turned into soft sobbing. Bai Shuchuan looked up in shock. Her hands, which were gripping his collar, started to lose strength.

He reached out and hugged her, as if to show his apology.
