Bai Shuchuan took his hands out of his pockets and gently held her hands in his.
Su Moyu looked up at him in surprise. The soft light outlined his face, and his eyes looked deep and calm. For a moment, she couldn’t look away.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” Bai Shuchuan glanced at her lightly.
Su Moyu felt a bit embarrassed, but the warmth from his hands made her feel light and happy.
“Can’t I just admire you a little?” she said, changing the topic.
“Of course. It’s my honor.”
Su Moyu looked at him with disgust. “Now that you’ve learned it, don’t use it everywhere. It sounds kind of cheesy.”
“Got it.”
Su Moyu took a deep breath and slowly let it out, quietly looking at the sky. The light at the horizon pierced through the darkness like arrows, and the distant mountains were slowly covered in golden sunlight.
The two of them stayed quiet like that.
The light kept changing, and the haze in the sky slowly faded. Bai Shuchuan watched as the sun slowly rose, and the cold on his body seemed to disappear.
From the corner of his eye, he saw Su Moyu stretch. He turned his head and saw her face lit by the morning light, showing him a bright smile.
“Wow, a brand new day has started again!”
