Chapter 47: Being Single Is Better
Su Moyu pulled Bai Shuchuan along and they played two rounds of a game on the subway, but gave up because the internet speed was so bad.
“Not playing anymore!” Su Moyu put down her phone and said angrily.
Bai Shuchuan let out a soft breath and closed the game. He had never cared much about winning or losing in games.
After all, friends are the best part of playing games. He didn’t really like playing alone.
Seeing Su Moyu still upset, Bai Shuchuan couldn’t help but smile.
“It’s just a game, no need to get so angry,” he comforted her.
But Su Moyu was still mad. “How can that jungler play so badly? I’d be better than him! And the support didn’t even look at me during team fights. I don’t even have any dash skill...”
Bai Shuchuan quietly listened to her complaining and just kept nodding.
“Sleep.” Su Moyu was still annoyed, but she stopped complaining. After all, they were in a public place, and talking too much didn’t seem polite.
She lay down on the table, and Bai Shuchuan started dealing with student council work.
As soon as he opened a spreadsheet, he felt a light weight on his shoulder.
When he turned his head, he saw Su Moyu leaning against him, her face slightly squished.
So he stayed still, keeping the same position. Somehow, the situation felt strangely familiar.
Ever since Su Moyu became a girl, he had started to feel like he was in a relationship without realizing it.
For example, wherever he went, there was a girl with him. He would take her out to eat, go out and have fun with her, and even act like a helper for all kinds of things.
Thinking about this, Bai Shuchuan looked at Su Moyu again. She was sleeping peacefully, her face calm.
Maybe it was just his imagination.
He thought to himself.
Because even when Su Moyu was still a guy, he probably would have done all these things for her.
It’s just that… they didn’t sleep together at night before, she didn’t lean on him when she got sleepy on the ride, and she didn’t ask him to carry her when she got tired.
Even Bai Shuchuan couldn’t clearly explain it, but after Su Moyu became a girl, there really were many kinds of contact between them that didn’t exist before.
He stared at the words on the screen, lost in thought.
The train soon arrived at the station. Bai Shuchuan carried both of their luggage and got off, while Su Moyu followed behind and stretched lazily, looking satisfied.
“I haven’t slept this comfortably on a train in a long time.”
Hearing the soft sound she made, Bai Shuchuan couldn’t help but get goosebumps.
“Why do you say that?” he asked while pulling the suitcase.
“Because when I travel alone, I don’t dare to sleep. And before, when you had holidays, you didn’t go home,” Su Moyu said softly as they followed the crowd out of the high-speed rail station.
The subway was very crowded. It took about twenty minutes from the station to the school, and Su Moyu had to stand the whole way, making her legs feel sore.
Classes would start again tomorrow, so Su Moyu chose to stay in the dorm. In this version of the world, she usually lived at school during weekdays and stayed at home on weekends.
She lived at home for privacy, and stayed at school for convenience.
Honestly, her life as a girl was quite comfortable and colorful...
When she was bored, she once checked her online shopping records. In just one month, she had spent several hundred yuan on certain adult products.
Young people really have strong bodies.
She thought to herself.
Su Moyu said goodbye to Bai Shuchuan at the school gate, then walked back to the dorm by herself. It was still a bit early for dinner. When she returned to school again, she couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic.
She was actually quite curious about what a girls’ dorm was like.
She took a deep breath and looked at the couples walking along the path. Suddenly, she thought about when she was dating Zhou Ya. Back then, they also wandered around the campus like this, without any clear goal.
When she walked into the girls’ dorm building, she suddenly felt a bit nervous for no reason.
She slowly walked to her room and even peeked inside first, just to check. She saw a long-haired beauty sitting at her desk with her head lowered.
Yan Hanyue looked up, and when she saw Su Moyu, she immediately smiled.
“Oh, you’re back from your honeymoon?” she joked with a grin. On the opposite bed, Qu Xintong suddenly sat up and quickly put on her glasses, looking at her.
“Susu!”
Su Moyu felt a bit lost in this situation.
When she was a boy, she barely knew any girls in the class. She could only remember the names of two or three at most.
“Mm, I’m back,” Su Moyu replied with a smile, then walked over and sat at a slightly messy desk.
Stacks of textbooks were piled together. There was a poster of a celebrity on the wall in front of her. In the corner of the desk was a photo of her and Bai Shuchuan, hugging each other with bright smiles on their faces.
Su Moyu started cleaning up the things on the desk and put them onto the bookshelf.
Why is the girl version of me even lazier than I am? If my desk were this messy, I would have already cleaned it up.
“Where did you go these past two days?” Yan Hanyue asked while putting a face mask on.
“I stayed at a hot spring hotel that costs 1,000 yuan per night,” Su Moyu replied as she turned on her computer.
Then she realized something bad, her computer was a MacBook.
How was she supposed to play games on this?
“Oh, 1,000 yuan a night? That’s so expensive,” Qu Xintong said. “How was it? Was there really a hot spring?”
She climbed down from the bed and pushed her glasses up, looking very curious.
“Mm… I think it was worth it, even though it’s a bit expensive,” Su Moyu said as she entered the desktop. She looked at the many files on the screen and the several antivirus icons in the corner.
Oh no… this computer is a mess.
With a heavy heart, she logged into her Steam account, only to find that she had just one game, Plants vs. Zombies. She almost broke down.
All her AAA games… the ones she worked part-time for days to buy… were all gone.
Su Moyu felt a wave of pain in her heart and started deleting useless software from the computer.
From time to time, her eyes drifted to the photo in the corner, and she couldn’t help but feel a sense of envy.
Her life as a girl really seemed quite happy.
She let out a soft sigh, and then heard Yan Hanyue teasing again.
“Some people are already married off, some go out with their boyfriends, and some can only stay in the dorm and play games…” Yan Hanyue said, shaking her head helplessly. Qu Xintong, who had just opened her game, immediately got annoyed.
“Being single is great,” Qu Xintong replied confidently. “You guys just go in circles… fighting, crying, and then comfort each other and make up.”
