Volume 3 Chapter 48: Stay and Sleep Together
Gao Liang hurried out of the hotel. Maybe he was lucky, there was a pharmacy right across from the hotel.
He quickly ran over and bought two boxes of fever medicine. Before he left, the shop owner saw that he had run out from the hotel and asked with a strange smile,
“Young man, do you need anything else?”
“No!”
Gao Liang turned around and left at once, his voice sounding a little annoyed. He ran back to the hotel and found the room.
Standing at the door… Gao Liang suddenly heard some strange sounds.
Soft breathing sounds, a little charming. He froze for a moment, and then…
He realized the sound was coming from the room next door.
What am I even thinking!
He sighed and pushed the door open.
As soon as he walked in, he saw the girl wearing thin pajamas. There was an ice pack on her forehead, but her face was still red. Gao Liang paused for a moment, then closed the door and asked softly,
“Where did you get the ice pack?”
“I… I called the front desk lady and asked for it,” Lin Lin answered quietly, lowering her head.
To be honest, using the ice pack really helped a little. It stopped her mind from losing control too quickly.
Of course, the ice pack was actually an item she had exchanged before and never used. She just suddenly thought of using it today. Calling the front desk? She would never dare to do that.
“Not bad,” Gao Liang said with a nod. Then he raised the fever medicine in his hand. “Take the medicine first. Let me find a cup… hmm…”
He looked around the room, found a paper cup, prepared the medicine, and handed it to her.
Ah…
Lin Lin wondered if fever medicine would really help against this stupid buff. Hopefully it would not make things worse.
But since it was already in front of her…
She held her nose and drank it in one go. The bitter taste quickly filled her throat. After drinking, she frowned and coughed several times. The ice pack also fell onto the bed.
Gao Liang quickly handed her some water. After she rinsed her mouth, she finally felt a little better.
She lowered her head. She did feel slightly better than before. Her head was still dizzy, but she probably did not need the ice pack anymore.
Besides, it was almost melted.
She put the ice pack beside the bed. Then… the room suddenly became quiet and a little awkward.
Both of them were sitting on the same large hotel bed. The only difference was that Lin Lin leaned against the headboard, while Gao Liang sat a little awkwardly on the other side of the bed.
After a while, Lin Lin suddenly spoke.
“So… we’re staying here tonight, right?”
“Yeah. You said you can’t go home without clothes. Tomorrow morning, I’ll go buy the same outfit for you. After you change, you can go back.”
Gao Liang nodded calmly.
Lin Lin thought for a moment. Actually, staying out overnight might be even harder to explain.
“Gao Liang…”
She looked at him and said, “Can you tell my parents? If they know I’m with you, they might feel more at ease.”
“Really…?”
Gao Liang’s mouth twitched a little. He did not know where Lin Lin got so much confidence in him. Did her parents really trust him that much? That seemed impossible.
At that moment, he could only start thinking about what to say on the phone later.
After thinking for a while, he came up with a plan.
First, he could not call now. It was still too early. If he told her parents right now that she would not go home tonight, they would definitely ask him to bring her back, since there was still enough time.
If they waited until almost midnight, he could use excuses like, there were no more buses, no taxis available, or Lin Lin was too drunk to walk.
Second… it would be better not to call Lin Lin’s parents directly. He could call Lin Yu first and use him as a middle person. Lin Yu could help explain things.
Lastly… that was it.
It was still early, and Gao Liang did not want to sit in this awkward room any longer.
To make things less awkward, he picked up the remote and turned on the TV in the hotel room.
Let’s just watch some TV…
Come to think of it, isn’t a normal date supposed to be dinner, then a movie, and only then booking a room?
His first strange “date” with Lin Lin had somehow skipped one step. What a pity.
Instead, it added the final step, the one he never wanted to do.
With the TV playing in the background, Gao Liang changed channels without really knowing what he wanted to watch. After a while, his eyes slowly moved toward Lin Lin.

Lin Lin’s situation was not very good either.
After the ice pack lost its effect and before the fever medicine started working, her body became hot again.
She curled up slightly. Her small body, wearing loose and thin pajamas that did not quite fit her, gave off a shy and innocent charm.
Her head felt heavier and heavier, so she did not pay much attention to what was on TV.
Gao Liang was different. While changing channels, he kept watching Lin Lin’s reaction, hoping to find a program she liked.

She did not seem satisfied with anything.

The TV screen suddenly changed from a cooking show… to something very different.

The girl quickly lay back under the blanket and shouted at Gao Liang,
“S-sleep! Let’s sleep!”
“Oh, okay.” Gao Liang felt embarrassed and quickly turned off the TV. He turned to look at her and said,
“Then I’ll go now, Lin Lin. Rest early.”
“Go…?”
Before she could react, Gao Liang was about to leave again. Lin Lin quickly grabbed his hand.
He turned around and saw her looking at him with pitiful eyes.
“D-don’t go. Don’t leave me here alone. I… I’m scared.”
“Uh…” Gao Liang suddenly felt troubled. If he did not leave, a boy and a girl alone in one room… this…
“Stay,” Lin Lin said, shaking his arm. Her mind was getting more and more confused, but she still remembered the task.
“W-we… we have to sleep together!”
