Chapter 289: You Read the Script, Didn’t You?!
After checking Long Xing’s photo gallery, An Han lost interest and curled her lips.
This man’s gallery was even “cleaner” than hers. Most were screenshots, some nice wallpapers, and a few cute anime-style pictures.
No wonder he handed his phone to her so casually, he really had nothing to hide.
An Han looked up at Long Xing, who was sitting on the upper bunk, trying to see if he looked nervous at all. She mumbled, “I thought there would be some strange sneaky photos.”
“What kind of person do you think I am?”
Long Xing took his phone back, but then noticed a girl sneaking at the door. “Who’s that?”
“My sister. Cute, right?” An Han waved at the girl. “Come in. Why are you standing outside?”
“She’s pretty. How come I never heard you mention you had a sister?”
“She causes trouble every day and annoys everyone. Why should I talk about her?”
“Ah… makes sense. Your whole family is really…”
Her sister hesitated as she walked into the dorm. She looked up at Long Xing, then suddenly realized something.
“Sister! I’ve seen him before! That… that gangster guy!”
Last time she and their mom came to surprise An Han, they had seen Long Xing in the school cafeteria.
“How am I a gangster…”
Long Xing muttered. He glanced at the tattoo on his arm and sighed deeply.
Because of his tattoo, short hair, and big build, people often mistook him for some street thug. Not only did he scare away the girl he liked, but even on the train yesterday he was asked to show his ID three times.
It wasn’t like he didn’t want to change. But removing a tattoo hurt, and he was scared. He was used to his short hair, washing it took only two minutes. If he let it grow out, his stiff hair would always stick up and ruin his hairstyle.
As for his body… he couldn’t purposely eat himself fat or starve himself skinny.
Luckily, it was winter and not too warm. Sleeping in just a tank top and shorts didn’t feel too awkward, even with two girls staring at him from the doorway.
He climbed down from the bed, put on a thin jacket, sat at his computer, and said, “I posted on the forum yesterday. Let’s see if anyone replied.”
“What?!” An Han froze. “Didn’t Junjie only arrive today? And you already asked him to post that on the forum?”
“I took the initiative myself.” Long Xing then realized something. “Wait! Chen Junjie is already back? When? How did I not know?”
“We bumped into him downstairs…”
Good news, at least Long Xing didn’t capture Ren Chi’s face in the photo. If he wanted to find her, he could only rely on her body shape, her back view, and what he remembered from seeing her in person.
Bad news, he had already started a “search request” on the school forum!
She was worried Ren Chi might have often walked around here in girls’ clothes before. Even though the photo only showed her back, someone with a height over 170 cm really stood out among southern girls.
Standing behind him, An Han looked at the computer screen and read the comments under the forum post.
Thankfully, there were only a few replies. And those few were just people joking around or posting nonsense.
Long Xing shook his head in disappointment. “If only I had taken her face.”
If he had, Ren Chi would probably quit her job and run away.
An Han pressed her lips together, feeling worried for Ren Chi’s job.
After sighing at the computer for a while, Long Xing suddenly turned around and stared straight at her with intense eyes, scaring her into taking two steps back.
“Yesterday, you said you know her?”
“I never said that!” An Han denied immediately.
“You did!” Long Xing spoke with full confidence. “You definitely know her. And when you saw her yesterday, you even greeted her!”
But at that time, Ren Chi didn’t recognize An Han at all. He only ran away because he saw Long Xing, who was one of his students.
An Han tried hard to think of a good explanation, while Long Xing looked at her with hope, almost pitifully.
“I’m the only one in our dorm who’s still single. I finally met a girl I like. Since you know her, help me out.”
“I just want her WeChat. When I get married in the future, I’ll give you a big red envelope.”
“……”
An Han really couldn’t imagine Ren Chi and Long Xing getting married.
Too scary.
And if classmates also attended the wedding… the awkwardness would be insane.
“I really don’t know her!”
To stop things from ever reaching the ‘marriage’ stage, An Han could only keep shaking her head.
Long Xing turned back to the computer with disappointment. “And here I thought you were my bro.”
Bro??
If Su Peng hadn’t made the first move, this guy would still be dreaming about flirting with his roommate!
An Han almost failed to hold her expression, but she still tried asking carefully, “You wouldn’t actually chase after a guy too, right?”
“What do you mean?” Long Xing froze. “Wait… are you saying that girl is actually a guy?”
“……”
“I mean… it’s not impossible to accept.”
Too scary! She definitely couldn’t let Ren Chi be exposed!
“So you do know. You just don’t want to tell me. You’re even trying to trick me into thinking she’s a guy.”
Long Xing opened the photo of the back view again and pointed at the narrow shoulders. “This back view, how could that be a man?”
An Han leaned in to look.
Well, maybe because of the slender shape of his body, the person in the photo looked like a girl.
Even though the winter coat affected the details a little, she had to admit, Ren Chi really suited women’s clothing. With that bone structure and figure, being born male almost felt like a waste.
At the very least, she was a perfect “back-view beauty.”
Suddenly, the dorm door opened, and Chen Junjie walked in carrying a big bag of daily items. He saw the scene and rushed over excitedly.
“Checking out pretty girls?”
“Good timing. Come take a look at this girl.”
“What’s going on?”
“This girl is about 173 cm tall, pretty thin, flat-chested, short hair, long legs. Do you know her?”
“173? That’s tall! That’s like ten centimeters taller than An Han, right?”
An Han’s face turned dark. “Eight!”
At 165 cm she wasn’t short at all, and among the girls in their class she was considered tall. But because she always hung out with guys, she was made fun of for her height since high school. Height was still her biggest sore spot.
“With shoes on, the difference is only six or seven centimeters! And I can wear heels too!”
Chen Junjie glanced at her white sneakers and snorted, “You probably can’t even walk in heels that are two centimeters tall.”
He hit the mark!
Well, not that bad…
But the one time she tried her mom’s 5 cm heels, she almost twisted her ankle.
“Stop fooling around. Do you know her or not?” Long Xing interrupted.
“Come on, Long Xing, be serious. How much can you tell from just a back view?” Chen Junjie pulled his chair over and sat down. “But you can filter it, right? There aren’t many girls over 170 cm in our school.”
An Han added, “What if she just lives nearby? She doesn’t really look like a student.”
“True. If we exclude students… Hey, Long Xing.”
“What?”
“Don’t you think her body and walking posture looks like a man?”
How on earth did this person always figure it out?! Did you have a sensor that detects traps or something?
