Chapter 292: The Dinner Before School Starts
Later that day, Long Xing went alone to the back gate of the school.
He stood quietly in the cold wind, under the shade of the trees, looking left and right. He didn’t see any of the roommates he had agreed to meet, and this made him feel even more sad and lonely.
He was the only single dog in the whole dorm. Everyone else already had a girlfriend, and one of them even went further and got himself a boyfriend.
Long Xing sighed. He felt like he had been left behind by his roommates.
Luckily, he already had a goal! This time he definitely would not miss his chance again!
Even if the person turned out to be a boy… what if it was actually a girl with a situation like An Han?
Just as he was thinking, he heard someone calling from far away.
“Brother Long!”
Chen Junjie was holding his girlfriend’s hand. From far away, he waved happily and pulled his girlfriend along as he half-ran toward Long Xing.
His girlfriend was the same girl he used to complain about, the one who borrowed money from him and dressed in a nightclub style. Back then, both Long Xing and An Han didn’t think this couple would work out. She really looked like she saw Chen Junjie as an ATM. But after the winter break, the two of them now looked much closer than before.
Watching the couple chatting and laughing as they came closer, Long Xing looked at the empty space beside him and felt an even stronger sense of emptiness.
He must find a girlfriend!
“Brother Long! This is my girlfriend! Just call her Yingying.”
The girl called Yingying behaved very naturally. She smiled sweetly the moment they met and reached out her hand. Long Xing froze for a second before reacting and shaking her hand.
He rarely did handshakes in daily life, and it made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
“This is Brother Long, the boss of my dorm,” Chen Junjie said with a grin, patting Long Xing on the shoulder. “Where’s Wang Sheng? And where’s An Han?”
“There, Wang Sheng.”
Long Xing looked toward the school gate. Just then, Wang Sheng walked out holding his girlfriend’s hand.
Wang Sheng’s girlfriend was the girl he had added on WeChat after winning that embarrassing campus contest last time. Later they often went to the internet café to play games together. After playing for a while, one night Wang Sheng didn’t come back to the dorm at all. The next morning when he returned, he was so tired he could barely move for two days.
Ever since he got a girlfriend, he never talked about becoming a professional gamer again. He was happy every day, playing duo queue with his girlfriend.
His girlfriend was clearly the shy type. When she saw the strangers, she only gave a small nod and didn’t say anything. She just held tightly onto Wang Sheng’s hand.
Seeing the girl was shy, Long Xing gave her a harmless smile to greet her. But she was so scared she hid directly behind Wang Sheng, shaking like a little white rabbit that had just seen a wolf.
His face actually looked normal, neat features, thick brows, big eyes. But his aura really made him look like a dangerous person.
“Brother Long is a good person,” Wang Sheng comforted his girlfriend. Then he looked up and gave Long Xing an awkward smile. “This is Lin Qian. She’s just easily scared.”
“Mm, it’s fine.”
He was used to it. Long Xing was always asked to show his ID when he took the metro or train. Almost every time he met police on the street, he was the one who got checked.
Now they only needed to wait for An Han.
“Junjie, what’s the name of that roommate who hasn’t come yet?” Yingying asked curiously.
Even though today was their first proper meeting, she had actually seen two of Junjie’s roommates from far away before. The only one she had never met was the last one.
“He’s called An Han.”
“What kind of person is he? I’ve never seen him before.”
“He’s a loud and crazy guy. He moved out.”
This topic also caught Lin Qian’s attention. She quietly asked Wang Sheng, “I think I heard you talk about him before.”

Long Xing looked at the two couples whispering to each other and felt like a pair of invisible hands were squeezing his heart tight.
Then he looked at the “person he liked”, a person who didn’t even have a name or a real shape in his mind, and he let out a hopeless sigh.
Luckily, once An Han arrived, at least he would have someone he could talk to, instead of being pushed aside like this.
“An Han is here.”
Long Xing instinctively looked toward the street, then his face turned dark. He told An Han that the roommates’ dinner allowed people to bring their girlfriends. He did not say they could also bring boyfriends!
Great. Now there were seven people. Three couples, and only he was single.
The playful girl pulled the tall man by the hand as they ran toward the group. An Han was catching her breath a little, with a bit of sweat on her forehead.

Then An Han suddenly noticed the surprised looks on the two girlfriends’ faces.
Yingying was the most confused. She originally thought Junjie’s roommate was the tall, gentle-looking handsome guy. But judging from their conversation, the cute and lively girl wearing earmuffs and a white scarf seemed to be the real roommate.

Long Xing glanced at An Han and Su Peng whispering together at the side, and he really couldn’t hold it anymore.
