Chapter 60: So You’re Shy
This guy didn’t even say anything that romantic…
But Su Moyu felt her face getting so hot. It was like some big secret had been discovered. A strong sense of embarrassment kept rising inside her, but at the same time, there was also a bit of sweetness slowly filling her heart.
“So what?” Su Moyu cleared her throat. She wanted to respond calmly, but her voice still came out soft and shy.
Seeing her reaction, Bai Shuchuan showed a slightly silly smile.
He knew he guessed right.
Actually, Su Moyu wasn’t that hard to understand.
“So you’re shy,” Bai Shuchuan said with a smile. “Your face is really red.”
Su Moyu suddenly felt that something was off about him, definitely off.
How did he suddenly become so sharp?
She couldn’t quite understand it, but the fact was, he had made her blush completely.
“Next time, can you not say it out loud even if you figure it out?” Su Moyu said. Even though she felt a bit unwilling, she decided not to argue with him.
“I was just confirming my guess,” Bai Shuchuan said, then gently patted her head again. “These past few days, I’ve been thinking about whether I should treat you like a boy or a girl.”
Su Moyu frowned, not fully understanding his way of thinking.
“Didn’t I already say you don’t need to treat me like a normal girl?”
“Yes,” Bai Shuchuan nodded. “But after you changed, everything felt a bit off. Like physical contact, if it’s too close, I worry you might not like it, so I think I should treat you like a girl. But then that feels too careful and distant.”
Su Moyu swallowed. She had vaguely felt this problem before too.
She just didn’t say it.
“But now, we don’t need to worry about that so much anymore, right?” Su Moyu looked up at his face.
After all, they were officially a couple now… or even like husband and wife.
And they had already crossed that line.
“Yeah,” Bai Shuchuan said softly, his voice gentle and steady. “I can’t treat you the same way I treat other boys or other girls, because those are categories I use for other people. But you’re different from everyone else. You are Su Moyu, my wife in name. The way I treat you has to be unique.”
Su Moyu took a deep breath and let it out. Now she really didn’t dare look straight at his face.
What should she do? His words hit her soft, newly awakened feelings again.
Her heart beat stronger, and she swallowed, trying to calm the messy thoughts inside her.
She suddenly realized she felt a bit lost… or maybe just nervous.
It seemed like she didn’t want Bai Shuchuan to see this honest side of her.
Why did she keep getting affected by words like this again and again…
Her palms felt warm, and the sweetness in her heart kept spreading.
“Bai Shuchuan,” she called his name without thinking.
“I’m here.”
“You’re such a smooth talker,” Su Moyu muttered. Her voice was soft, almost like she was acting spoiled.
“I’m not really good at saying… very romantic lines,” Bai Shuchuan said awkwardly, looking a bit helpless.
Su Moyu didn’t reply. She just gently brushed the hair away from her forehead.
She slightly lowered her head. This small movement let Bai Shuchuan see her face, which was completely red.
“If the words are too romantic, it’s hard to feel if they’re sincere,” Su Moyu said. “Someone like you, a bit slow and simple, is better.”
Hearing her soft voice, Bai Shuchuan felt a restless feeling in his heart.
He had never thought that facing his childhood friend would make him feel this way.
It felt exactly the same as when Chen Xue confessed to him before.
What is love? What kind of feeling can really be called love?
Bai Shuchuan had never been sure. In his last relationship, it felt like, without realizing it, someone suddenly entered his life and started to affect everything.
But for him, Chen Xue’s presence often just replaced Su Moyu’s place. He and Su Moyu could still eat together, walk around the track, and chat like before.
The only difference was the kind of physical closeness you have with someone of the opposite sex.
Maybe love is that feeling in your heart that you can’t clearly explain.
When you see someone, you want to hug them, kiss them, share interesting things with them, and tell them your worries…
And now, Su Moyu was a girl.
Bai Shuchuan felt his throat grow dry. He naturally remembered the soft feeling of her lips when she kissed him.
Sunlight fell on the top of Su Moyu’s head. She was still slightly lowering her head. He couldn’t see her expression, but he imagined the moment earlier that morning, when he had cornered her, and she looked at him with a red face and surprised eyes.
He suddenly wanted to kiss her again. He missed the feeling of her breath brushing against his face.
But they were outside, so he felt it wasn’t appropriate.
So he just reached out and gently touched her head. His fingers felt the softness of her hair. Su Moyu looked up at him, her eyes a bit shy.
“Suddenly, I feel like you really suit being a girl,” Bai Shuchuan said with a faint smile.
Su Moyu became even more shy.
“What do you mean? So you’re saying I was too girly when I was a guy?” she huffed, sounding a bit unhappy.
Bai Shuchuan shook his head. By then, they had reached the cafeteria. He lifted the curtain for her.
“Not really. But I think the way you are now is closer to your true self.”
Su Moyu glanced at him lightly, still acting a bit proud.
“It’s enough that you know. You don’t have to say it,” she muttered.
“If I became like this but still acted like a guy, wouldn’t that be strange?” she asked.
“That’s true,” Bai Shuchuan replied. “But you don’t need to hide anything from me. What matters most is that we’re happy together.”
“I know,” Su Moyu answered, a small smile appearing in her eyes.
This guy… he’s surprisingly serious when it comes to dating.
After they finished eating, Su Moyu parted ways with Bai Shuchuan.
“See you tonight then,” she said, stretching lazily.
The sunlight fell on her face again. Her skin looked fair with a soft blush, and her lips shined in the light like candy.
To Bai Shuchuan, she looked like a lazy little cat, making his heart feel itchy.
Actually… he kind of wanted to tease her a bit.
It was just a sudden thought that crossed his mind.
