Chapter 62: Don’t Be Angry
Su Moyu raised her eyes and looked at the man in front of her. He had slightly messy short hair, fair skin, and a clean, neat appearance. His eyebrows were thick, and he was wearing a clean white lab coat. The first thing Su Moyu noticed was his thick eyebrows.
The man smiled at her. Because they were both wearing masks, they could only see each other’s eyes.
He bent down and helped Su Moyu lift the cardboard box from the floor onto the table. She said “thank you” without thinking, and the boy kept smiling at her.
“Sorry, I got delayed by something just now,” the boy said.
“Mm, it’s okay,” Su Moyu replied politely. Anyway, she hadn’t started working yet.
“These are lab instruments, right?” the man continued, sounding quite friendly.
Su Moyu was actually a bit shy and not very open with strangers.
Especially with someone she would only work with once.
“Yes. We need to take everything out, sort and record them in a table, then wash them and send them to the dryer,” Su Moyu said as she picked up a small knife and cut open the tape.
“Alright,” the man replied, quickly taking out beakers and other items from the box.
Su Moyu didn’t say anything more and just quietly focused on her work.
“What’s your name?” the man asked while rolling up his sleeves and washing the equipment. “I’m Xu Zhishe from Class 2 of Pharmaceutical Preparation.”
“Su Moyu,” she replied calmly. To be honest, she had a good impression of him.
Hmph, too bad she wasn’t really a girl. Xu Zhishe was probably trying to start a conversation because he thought she was pretty.
Of course, maybe she was just overthinking.
“Your voice sounds very nice,” he said in a relaxed tone, almost like he was joking.
As soon as she heard that, Su Moyu felt he was quite experienced at this.
“Thank you,” she replied softly.
So this is what it feels like for a girl to be approached by a guy.
Could he be a player?
Su Moyu thought to herself.
She actually admired him a bit, because she didn’t have the courage to approach other girls like that, at least not so calmly.
Still, she decided to tease him a little, then leave quickly after the lab class.
After all, she didn’t want to do anything that would make Bai Shuchuan feel bad. But if Bai Shuchuan misunderstood something, would he secretly cry under his blanket at night?
If possible, she really wanted to tease him.
But that would be a bit too much.
“You can handle these. I’ll take these to the dryer,” Su Moyu said, deliberately softening her voice. After all, she was now a beautiful girl, why not use that advantage?
“No problem, go ahead,” Xu Zhishe replied, still busy washing the beakers.
Su Moyu planned to just wait by the dryer and let Xu Zhishe wash for a while longer.
If he came over and asked her to help, she would act like a cute, innocent girl and say something like, “Oh right, I don’t need to wait here,” then quickly run back to continue working.
Smart as she was.
So she calmly stood by the dryer and relaxed a bit. She didn’t expect Xu Zhishe to be so patient. He finished washing the whole box by himself, which made Su Moyu feel a little embarrassed.
The rest was just tiring, repetitive work, but Xu Zhishe kept chatting with her, so it wasn’t too boring.
However, Su Moyu knew clearly that since she hadn’t shown any rejection, he would probably take the next step soon.
What a pity, she was just doing it for fun.
After Su Moyu finished her work, it was already time to eat. She guessed that Bai Shuchuan was probably about to get off work too.
When she walked out of the lab building, she realized it was raining outside.
She took out her phone to ask Bai Shuchuan to come pick her up, but just as she did, she heard Xu Zhishe’s voice again.
“Want to share an umbrella?” he asked.
Su Moyu blinked and looked up at him. This time, she could finally see his whole face.
His features were well-shaped, his lips red and teeth white, he was somewhat handsome.
But still not as good-looking as Bai Shuchuan.
When Xu Zhishe saw her face clearly, he was stunned for a moment.
“Walk me back to the dorm,” Su Moyu said.
That way, she wouldn’t have to trouble Bai Shuchuan.
Thinking this, she couldn’t help but sigh, being a pretty girl really had its advantages. If it were the old her, she would probably just stand under the roof, waiting for her roommate to pick her up.
“Let’s go,” Xu Zhishe said.
The two of them started walking slowly toward the dorm.
But what Su Moyu didn’t expect was that when they arrived downstairs at the dorm, Bai Shuchuan was already standing at the entrance, waiting for her...
When Bai Shuchuan looked up and saw Su Moyu, he looked a bit surprised. His eyes then moved to Xu Zhishe, and a hint of confusion appeared.
As Su Moyu stepped up the stairs, she heard Xu Zhishe speak from behind her.
“Can I get your contact so we can keep in touch?”
Su Moyu already knew he would say that.
“No, it’s okay. My boyfriend might misunderstand. Thank you for walking me here,” she said with a gentle smile.
Before he could reply, Su Moyu quickly ran to Bai Shuchuan, who was standing at the other side of the dorm entrance.
Oh no, she really was acting a bit sly.
Still, she felt a bit regretful that she didn’t get to see Xu Zhishe’s reaction.
“That person was…” Bai Shuchuan hesitated before speaking, but Su Moyu reached out and held his hand.
“We were put together for a volunteer activity this afternoon,” she explained. “Let’s go eat.”
Bai Shuchuan opened his umbrella. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Su Moyu’s beautiful eyes staring at him.
“Then why didn’t you ask me to pick you up?” he asked.
Su Moyu smiled secretly. Just listen to that, he sounded a bit jealous.
“I didn’t want to trouble you,” she said softly. Then she checked her phone and finally saw the message he had sent.
“I didn’t see your message earlier. If I had, I would’ve definitely asked you to come pick me up.”
She continued to explain.
“Okay,” Bai Shuchuan replied, seeming to accept her explanation.
Su Moyu had never seen him like this before, and she found it quite interesting.
But she also knew how to care about his feelings.
“How could a guy I just met compare to you~” she said in a sweet, playful tone.
Bai Shuchuan felt her holding onto his arm, and then he felt something very soft press against it.
She pulled his arm into her embrace.
“What’s wrong? Are you angry?”
She gently leaned her head on his shoulder. Raindrops tapped softly on the umbrella, but his heart was beating faster and faster.
“Bai Shuchuan, your face is red.”
The girl’s voice came again from beside him, full of teasing and joy.
