Chapter 66: That Decision
Not long after Christmas, New Year’s Day arrived.
During the New Year holiday, Mu Le had originally planned to go home and spend some time with her father, who usually lived alone. But the night before, Mu Cheng called her and said he had to go on a business trip for a few days because of urgent work.
Because of that, Mu Le felt a bit helpless, but she had no choice but to give up her plan to go home for now.
But honestly, whether she went back or not didn’t make much difference. Even if she went home, she would probably spend most of her holiday staying in a warm bed.
After all, in her small apartment, when she had nothing to do, she almost never left her bed. At most, she would wrap herself in a blanket, sit on the sofa with the heater on, write on her laptop, or watch TV.
Seeing her almost “hibernation-like” laziness, Xiao Yuze felt helpless, but there wasn’t much he could do.
Of course, he didn’t completely let her stay like that. After meals, when there was nothing to do, he would sometimes take her out for a walk.
But this couldn’t go on forever. Xiao Yuze seriously suspected that if he left her alone, by the time he came back after New Year’s, she might just become one with the bed.
Because he was so worried, when he heard that Mu Cheng would be away on a business trip, the man immediately made a decision.
And when he told Mu Le his idea…
“Huh? Go back with you?”
Mu Le was curled up on the sofa. The potato chip that had almost reached her mouth stopped mid-air. She turned to look at Xiao Yuze, with a face that seemed to say Did I hear that wrong?
Xiao Yuze simply raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong? Don’t want to go?”
“It’s not that…” Mu Le put the chip into her mouth. For some reason, her expression became a bit troubled. “It’s just… how should I say… well, anyway…”
She hesitated for a long time but couldn’t explain clearly.
“My parents miss you a lot. If they know you’re coming back with me, they’ll be very happy,” Xiao Yuze added calmly when he saw her hesitation.
“It won’t bother them?” Mu Le still hesitated, but her tone had already softened a lot.
Noticing this, Xiao Yuze’s eyes showed a bit more smile. “Of course not.”
“But…”
“Alright, if I leave you alone, who knows how lazy you’ll become? It’s decided.” Before Mu Le could say more, Xiao Yuze reached out, patted her head, and stood up from the sofa.
Mu Le blinked, then finally nodded.
“Alright… staying at home does sound a bit boring.”
Still, going to Xiao Yuze’s house felt a bit strange to her.
It wasn’t like she had never been there before. But back then, she didn’t feel this kind of… uneasiness?
It wasn’t just uneasiness. There was also a bit of awkwardness. In short, it was a strange feeling she couldn’t explain.
Seeing her shy and uneasy look, Xiao Yuze teased her, “What’s with that hesitant face? Are you shy?”
He added jokingly, “There’s an old saying, an ‘ugly daughter-in-law’ has to meet her in-laws sooner or later.”
Before he could finish, a potato chip flew and hit him.
“Who are you calling ugly?!” Mu Le gritted her teeth, clearly embarrassed and angry.
Seeing that she was about to explode, Xiao Yuze bent down, picked up the chip from the carpet, threw it into the trash, and then smiled to comfort her.
“Alright, alright, not ugly. A beautiful daughter-in-law.”
“Why do you sound like you’re trying to comfort a child? And stop calling me your wife, who is your wife?! Don’t you know men and women should keep some distance? So please keep a proper distance from me, Mr. Xiao. Otherwise, I’ll accuse you of harassment!”
Mu Le’s serious expression successfully made Xiao Yuze laugh. He coughed twice, then held back his smile.
“Alright, little Mu Le.”
“Who are you calling little? Do I look small?”
Mu Le snorted and didn’t bother arguing with him. But soon, she noticed something felt off. Then she realized the man’s gaze seemed to be drifting toward her chest.
Her mouth twitched slightly, and her whole face turned red.
“Where are you looking?”
“Ahem… it’s fine, Lele. You’re still growing…”
“Get lost!”
This time, her answer was a cushion thrown straight at his face.
After teasing her for a while, Xiao Yuze realized that if he kept going, she might really get angry. So he finally stopped.
Teasing her like this was honestly a bit addictive.
He picked up the cushion, patted off imaginary dust, and tossed it back beside her.
“Alright, alright, no more jokes. I’ll go call my parents. If they know you’re coming tomorrow, they’ll definitely be very happy.”
“Please don’t talk to me.” Mu Le clearly didn’t want to deal with him right now. She turned her head away and grabbed a handful of chips, chewing angrily.
Xiao Yuze didn’t mind her sulking. He took out his phone and walked to the side to call his parents.
After he moved a bit farther away, Mu Le swallowed the food in her mouth and unconsciously looked down at her chest.
To be fair, her figure couldn’t be called flat. But it also wasn’t particularly full.
It was more like… just right. Not too big, not too small. The kind that would fit perfectly in one hand.
…Would it be better if it were bigger?
Blinking, Mu Le stared at herself and fell into a brief moment of confusion.
But soon she snapped out of it.
Wait, why was she even thinking about this?!
That’s right, this wasn’t even her original body. Things like body shape shouldn’t matter.
But even so…
“Why do I still feel a bit annoyed?” she muttered, pressing lightly on her chest.
Thinking about it, novels really lied. Things like becoming super sensitive just from being lightly touched, this wasn’t some adult novel. It wasn’t that easy to feel anything.
Without realizing it, Mu Le’s thoughts started drifting again.
Then suddenly, as if she remembered something, a strange blush appeared on her face. The hand she had placed on her chest quickly pulled back like she had been shocked.
She then glanced guiltily at Xiao Yuze, who was still quietly talking on the phone not far away. Only after confirming he wasn’t paying attention did she relax a little.
“I really shouldn’t have played those adult games. Seriously, what kind of random thoughts am I having now?”
She patted her face, took a deep breath, and secretly decided that later she would delete all those adult games and animations saved on her computer.
As for why she even had those things… well, wasn’t it normal for a guy to have them?
Even after becoming a girl, Mu Le hadn’t had the heart to delete her collection.
After all, they could pass time, and even help her “learn” how to write more vivid scenes.
Of course, after becoming a girl, she had used them much less than before. The last time was when she needed to write a fan-service scene.
But in the end, such things were still… a bit dangerous. They easily made people think too much.
At least recently, Mu Le felt like something about herself was getting a little strange.
Of course, whether it was really those things causing it… only Mu Le herself knew.
