Chapter 79: That Drunken Night
When Xiao Yuze saw Mu Le, she was completely drunk.
He remembered the last time she had drunk, and back then he had wondered if she was pretending. This time, there was absolutely no room for doubt.
Xiao Yuze could only sigh helplessly.
He first reached out and lifted Mu Le into his arms. But instead of leaving immediately, he glanced toward Bai Xin, who had a teasing look on her face, and said in a low tone, “Next time, don’t let Mu Le drink so much.”
“Huh? How do you know it was me who got her drunk?” Bai Xin asked, a little confused but also showing a hint of annoyance.
Xiao Yuze, who knew her personality well, didn’t even look her in the eye and simply replied with a question, “What do you think?”
Bai Xin touched her nose, realizing she had no good excuse. After all, it was partly her encouragement that had led to both Mu Le and Xiao Han getting drunk.

“Be careful on your way back. I’ll take Mu Le with me.”
“You two be careful too,” said Luo Xinyan, who was sipping tea to sober up, nodding at him.

After responding politely, Xiao Yuze turned and carried Mu Le toward the exit.
It was now the dinner rush, so his direct action naturally drew attention from both inside and outside the restaurant.

He successfully placed Mu Le in the car, but when he went to fasten her seatbelt, another situation occurred.

Xiao Yuze was momentarily stunned. He tried to pull his arm free, but Mu Le held on tightly.
She was holding too hard, and he didn’t want to hurt her.
With so many curious eyes around them, even Xiao Yuze felt a little awkward. He also regretted not fastening her seatbelt after getting into the car instead.
But thinking about it now was useless. The soft warmth of her arms pressing against his made him feel a strangely pleasant sensation.

She seemed to sense something, and her eyes opened slightly, but she didn’t release him. Instead, she held on tighter, even pressing her face against his arm like a little kitten.
“Be good… stop that.” The man could only sigh even more helplessly.
This continued for quite a while. Just as Xiao Yuze was about to be a little firmer, Mu Le suddenly loosened her hold.
Xiao Yuze let out a sigh of relief, though he couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed.
After all that, Mu Le seemed to fully wake up. Well, “awake” was relative, she was still showing signs of being drunk.
A drunk Mu Le was quiet and obedient. At least when Xiao Yuze helped her adjust the seatbelt again, she just watched him with her eyes open and didn’t act like she had earlier.
Her gaze followed him wherever he moved, as if she were watching something interesting.
At first, Xiao Yuze didn’t mind. But after being stared at like that for a while, he started to feel a little weird.
Just staring at him without saying a word, even knowing she was drunk, felt strange.
When the car stopped at a red light, he finally turned to her and asked, “What’s wrong? Why are you staring at me?”
Mu Le didn’t answer. She just kept staring.
Just when Xiao Yuze thought she would stay quiet forever, she suddenly giggled a couple of times and reached out to poke his face.
Xiao Yuze: “……”
He had never known drunk Mu Le could be so strange. Last time, she had seemed fairly normal.
“Xiao Yuze… I… like you,” Mu Le suddenly said, breaking the silence.
Xiao Yuze was a little stunned at first, then let out a soft laugh. “I know.”
“You don’t know! I really like you, you know.”
“I know.”
“Look, I really like you. So… do you like me too?”
“I do.” Xiao Yuze, who had been slightly moved by her sudden confession, couldn’t help the corner of his mouth twitching.
But what really caught him off guard came next. As soon as he answered, Mu Le suddenly lifted her small face and pressed a kiss to his lips.
“Now that we’ve kissed, you belong to me,” she said, tapping her lips with a satisfied smile.
Xiao Yuze stared at her for a long moment, only snapping out of it when the honking behind them reminded him to restart the car.
Mu Le, on the other hand, went back to staring at him with that silly, blank expression from before.

The soft warmth of her touch still lingered. Xiao Yuze pulled over to a quiet spot, took a deep breath, and unbuckled his own seatbelt.
Mu Le blinked, her gaze hazy and her expression a little dazed.
Seeing her like that, Xiao Yuze hesitated for a moment. Then he leaned in and pressed his lips hard against hers.
There was a slight taste of alcohol in her mouth, but it was very faint. He rarely drank, yet for the first time he realized some alcohol could be so intoxicating.
He kissed her freely for a long moment, then finally pulled back slightly, leaving Mu Le’s lips parted as she breathed lightly. He reached out and pinched her soft, delicate cheeks.
“This… is what a real kiss is, understand?”
Mu Le tilted her head, still a little slow to react from being drunk, but she obediently nodded. “Mm.”
“Looks like you still don’t fully get it… so let’s do it again.” Before she could respond, he pressed his lips to hers once more.
If Mu Le had been sober, there was no way she would have let him get away with this. She probably would have kicked him without hesitation.
But drunk Mu Le was much softer and cuter.
She didn’t resist him at all. In the end, she even wrapped her arms around his neck, almost like she was submitting to him.
