Chapter 3: Stay With Me for Three Years!
Cheng Fei narrowed her eyes. On the surface she looked calm, but inside her mind was already exploding.
To hell with having mental problems!
Her mind was perfectly normal!
Even now, if a beautiful girl suddenly appeared in front of her, then despite losing the “equipment” she once had as a man, she still felt confident she could charm her in minutes!
Still, something this supernatural was impossible for normal people to accept immediately. Even someone as mentally tough as her had spent a long time in the bathroom before finally accepting reality.
So she decided to give him some time and stay calm.
After hanging up the phone, Gao Ming still looked completely calm and unreadable. Cheng Fei really could not understand why rich people always acted like this.
Back in university, she had often heard people flattering those rich young masters. Every one of them had delicate faces almost prettier than girls, and during breaks there were always groups of girls following behind them.
Cheng Fei calmed herself a little before speaking again.
“Did you actually listen to anything I just said? I’m seriously not joking!”
Gao Ming looked up.
“Where’s your proof?”
Cheng Fei was so anxious she almost jumped.
Don’t tell her this elegant and graceful woman actually had this kind of personality inside all along, and usually only pretended in front of others?!
“Your personality, habits, daily behavior! You two are married, so you definitely—”
Before she could finish, Gao Ming calmly interrupted her.
“From the day we met until now, it hasn’t even been three days.”
“What?!”
Cheng Fei was completely stunned.
“If we count the meal at home, the total time we spent together is less than five hours.”
Cheng Fei became speechless. Her whole body nearly froze. The only sign she had not completely turned stupid was her blinking eyes.
Married less than three days after meeting?!
What was this speed? Were they rushing to the moon?!
They did not even know each other’s personalities or habits and still got married? This was way too reckless!
After cleaning up the trash on the table, Gao Ming carried it outside and threw it away near the hallway.
Thinking back to what had just happened, a strange smile suddenly appeared on his face.
When he met Cheng Fei this morning, she had been like a gentle little sheep. Now she had turned into a lively little tiger.
Although they had not spent much time together before, he could still tell that the original Cheng Fei had been a gentle, caring, and graceful woman. The difference before and after was so obvious that there was no way he would fail to notice it.
But honestly, he did not dislike this change.
The previous Cheng Fei had simply been too gentle and too perfect as a wife. Other people might dream of that kind of woman, but to him, that personality felt somewhat dull. Just imagining living under the same roof with her already sounded difficult.
But now...
Whether the soul inside was male or female did not matter much to him. From the beginning, this marriage had only been arranged to complete a certain duty. He had never planned for anything romantic to happen between them.
He only intended to endure these few years until the agreement ended, then handle the divorce procedures and return Cheng Fei her freedom. After that, neither of them would need to keep suffering because of society’s expectations and traditions.
“This is actually kind of interesting.”
Behind him, Cheng Fei secretly watched through the small gap in the hospital room door and noticed Gao Ming muttering something to himself.
The distance was too far and the door blocked the sound, so she could not hear clearly. She also did not know how to read lips. But after years of dealing with people in society, she had learned how to judge expressions and mouth movements somewhat.
Interesting?
What did “interesting” mean?
Did he have some hidden meaning behind it? Was this fake marriage meant to hide something? Maybe something society would not normally accept?
He already knew the soul inside her was a man, yet he still said something like that. Could it be he actually liked men!?
Or maybe he still did not believe her and thought she had simply hit her head too hard and started talking nonsense?
No way.
She absolutely could not stay here any longer.
After answering another phone call, Gao Ming returned to the room.
Cheng Fei was lying on the bed with messy hair, making weak noises like someone waiting to be taken to execution.
“Feeling uncomfortable again?”
“No... I just feel a little dizzy.”
Gao Ming stepped closer. Seeing her healthy and glowing face, his eyes moved slightly.
Even if he did not particularly like Cheng Fei’s old personality, her beauty was still enough to shake any normal man. He neither especially liked nor disliked her before, only treated her as an ordinary person. But even so, her appearance had still stirred his instincts a few times.
Now, this slightly sickly look added another special kind of charm to her.
If Cheng Fei had still been the original woman inside...
Gao Ming steadied his thoughts and pushed away those distracting ideas. Just by looking at Cheng Fei’s healthy face, he could already tell she was pretending.
For a moment, he could not understand what she was trying to do, so he simply decided to follow along and see what happened next.
“Do you want me to call the doctor?”
“No need! Go do your own things and don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine just lying here for a while.”
Cheng Fei immediately rejected Gao Ming’s kindness and gently closed her eyes.
Just as expected.
Since the performance had already started, Gao Ming happily sat on the sofa nearby and watched her lie there pretending to be half-dead.
She did not know how much time had passed. Cheng Fei felt that the fake act was slowly becoming real, and she was almost falling asleep. Yet Gao Ming still sat there watching her like some kind of guard.
What was wrong with this guy? Why was he just sitting there without moving?!
It was already so late. Even sleeping on the sofa would make more sense!
Pretending to wake up, Cheng Fei sat up and squinted her sleepy eyes.
“Mmm... you’re still not sleeping?”
Hearing that, Gao Ming nodded and stood up to take off his jacket.
Cheng Fei immediately became nervous.
Then she watched Gao Ming start undoing his belt, making her completely unable to stay calm anymore!
Unable to control himself already? Was something dangerous about to happen?!
“Y-Y-You... wh-what are you doing?”
“Doing what you said. Sleeping.”
“Sleep... where?”
“There’s only one bed here. Am I supposed to sleep on the sofa? Besides, we’re already husband and wife.”
Cheng Fei subconsciously pulled her clothes tighter and crossed her arms over her chest. Gao Ming smiled lightly.
“Don’t worry. Our marriage is only in name.”

So that was the reason.
No wonder they got married after only three days without even understanding each other’s personalities.
But still...
How was she supposed to accept sleeping beside another grown man?
He was not even her brother...
No!
With her current appearance, she had every reason to stay alert. Even if they were brothers, instincts and desires could still become dangerous. With a face and body like this, even she herself almost lost control earlier in the bathroom!
Letting a healthy young man sleep beside her was like putting a hungry cat beside a salted fish. What if he woke up in the middle of the night and could not control himself?
Besides, that fake marriage agreement belonged to the original Cheng Fei, not to her. The past and present should be separated clearly.
In short, there was no way she would allow this dangerous time bomb to stay beside her!
“I... can’t get used to sleeping beside a man. I’ll just sleep on the sofa.”
Gao Ming did not argue at all. After changing clothes, he simply climbed into bed.
Meanwhile, Cheng Fei curled up alone on the hard sofa, feeling lonely, empty... and a little cold.
After all, it still was not full summer yet. Wearing only a thin hospital gown, how could she not feel cold?
“Come over here.”
Gao Ming offered kindly, but Cheng Fei politely refused.
“Thanks! I appreciate the kindness, but sleeping together... no thanks!”
“You were just injured. Don’t catch a cold too.”
Hearing that, Cheng Fei laughed.
“No matter what, I used to be a grown man. There are some thoughts I don’t need to say out loud.”
“Heh.”
Gao Ming gave a mocking smile.
Cheng Fei turned around to face the back of the sofa and even made her breathing quieter, hoping Gao Ming would fall asleep soon so she could begin her escape plan.
She lay there with open eyes, counting sheep from one all the way to one thousand five hundred before finally hearing steady breathing from the bed.
Cheng Fei narrowed her eyes and secretly looked over.
Asleep.
She quietly climbed off the sofa and carefully searched through the cabinets, but could not find any spare clothes.
Forget it. She would just run away like this.
She carefully turned the doorknob open. Just as she was feeling proud of herself, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her...
Without even looking, she already knew who it was. Depressed, she gave up on the escape attempt.
Turning around, Cheng Fei looked at him.
This Gao Ming sure moved fast. When did he change into a bathrobe?!
“I know some things are hard to accept. Honestly, if it were me, I probably couldn’t accept it either. But our parents already know about us and approve of the marriage. What’s done is done. There’s no turning back now.”
He could not even fully accept it himself, yet he was still forcing someone else to stay. This guy truly lived up to the meaning of the word ‘domineering.’
“After some time... or when the right moment comes, our relationship can end.”
“How long are you planning?”
“At least three years.”
