Chapter 330: Family
An Han actually wasn’t very interested in going shopping. Whether when she was still male or now as a girl, her hobbies were more like a homebody’s. Going out to shop felt a bit tiring for her.
She didn’t have anything she especially wanted to buy, didn’t want to spend money on fancy things, and the clothes at home were enough. At most, she would buy some daily-use items.
But going shopping with Su Peng was different…
It really depends on who you go with. Even if she was just holding Su Peng’s hand and wandering around the streets with no purpose, she could enjoy it.
They stayed outside for more than an hour in the afternoon, and only when Su Peng couldn’t keep going anymore did they take a taxi home.
This guy had been acting strangely lately, always going to the fitness club, saying he needed to train his legs and butt. But then when he accompanied An Han to shop, he still couldn’t last long.

But after several days, she still didn’t see any results. Su Peng was always the one who lost to her easily, not even close.
Stretching lazily as she walked into their rented place, An Han lay down on the sofa, rolled over, and rested her cheek on her hand while watching Su Peng, who had just come inside.
“You’re so slow.”
“My legs are sore and hurt…”
“No one told you to go to the gym for no reason.”
She had been excited during the shopping trip, but now she yawned several times in a row. Tiredness was starting to rise from deep inside her body.
It was only 3 p.m. A good time for a nap.
Su Peng put the mop they bought outside the apartment building in the corner.
“Oh right, help me get a co—”
An Han started to call him, but suddenly realized she was being too lazy. If this continued, she’d definitely become chubby because of him. So she sat up on her own.
But just as she sat up, Su Peng was already walking into the kitchen. “Stop drinking cola. You’re on your period, aren’t you?”
“It’s fine.”
“I’ll boil water for you.”
During this time, since her period had started, Su Peng was scared every day seeing her drink ice-cold cola without any change in expression. He was terrified she might suddenly get painful cramps.
“I want cola!”
“Drink hot water. I’ll mix a bit of mineral water in. It’ll cool in two minutes.”
An Han quickly got up and ran toward the fridge, but Su Peng was already standing in front of it, even leaning against the door to block her.
“I just want cola.”
“You’re on your period. No.”
She glared angrily at him, but Su Peng didn’t care at all. He tried to talk nicely.
“It’s only a few days a month. Just stop drinking cola for a bit. Your body is fine now, but if you get cramps in the future, you’ll be the one suffering, right?”
An Han let out a sigh. “It’s okay. I won’t feel pain in my whole life.”
Unless the stupid system uninstalled itself and took away all the buffs it gave her.
Would that turn her back into a man? That sounded impossible…
Seeing that Su Peng clearly didn’t believe her, An Han had no way to convince him. She muttered softly, “I have a system, you know…”
“You’ve been reading too many novels lately?”
“……”
Yeah, no one would believe something like that.
Anyway, Su Peng couldn’t stay here every day. An Han would eventually find a chance to drink cola. So she didn’t continue fighting him. Feeling weak and tired, she lay back down on the sofa again.
Su Peng had already started boiling the water. He then came to the living room and pulled a chair over to sit down.
“Later I’ll go home for a bit.”
“Didn’t you say you would take leave and go back in a few days?”
An Han suddenly shuddered a little and opened her eyes wide without thinking.
“Going back in a few days is for handling the paperwork for studying abroad, to prepare for going overseas. But now I’m not planning to go abroad anymore.”
Su Peng was booking an online taxi for half an hour later while talking, without even lifting his head. “Since I don’t plan to go abroad, I have to tell my parents. It’s a big thing, so saying it at home will be better.”
“I see……”
“I should be back by tomorrow. What do you want to eat? I’ll bring something for you from downtown.”
But An Han looked worried. “Didn’t you say your parents will be angry?”
“If they’re angry, then let them be angry. It’s not like I haven’t made them angry before.”
True, during middle school and high school, Su Peng often skipped studying to hang out with bad friends. His parents probably scolded and hit him all the time.
“After I leave, be careful by yourself. When you sleep at night, remember to lock the door.”
“I know.”
Small things like this were originally An Han’s specialty. If she forgot to lock the door at night, eight or nine times out of ten it was on purpose, she left it unlocked for Su Peng. That instead made Su Peng think she was just careless…
Seeing Su Peng so calm and relaxed, she slowly felt less worried too.
She yawned and turned over, finding a comfortable posture. “Then I’ll go take a nap later.”
Su Peng nodded and didn’t say anything more. After mixing the boiled water with mineral water, he poured a cup of warm water and put it on the table. Then he hurriedly prepared to leave.
There was a hint of worry in his eyes. He didn’t know how his family would react after hearing his decision.
“Su Peng!”
Just as he opened the front door and put on his shoes, getting ready to leave, he suddenly heard An Han call out behind him.
Su Peng turned around and saw the girl, barefoot, pat-pat-pat running toward him on the floor. He smiled softly. “What is it?”
“I’ll go too!”
A bit of pink rose on An Han’s cheeks. She stood in front of him, looked up, and suggested, “If I go with you, even if they’re angry, they probably won’t scold too much in front of me, right?”
“And… if you bring your girlfriend home, they might be so happy that they won’t be mad anymore, right?”
Earlier, when she saw Su Peng so calm, she had felt relieved and almost believed him.
But thinking again, refusing to study abroad was task two, a medium-difficulty mission.
Su Peng’s own attitude wasn’t the hard part. So the difficulty was probably with his parents.
“What are you going for?” Su Peng refused her without hesitation. “It’s far, and going there and back will take a few hours. Just go take your nap.”
“But—”
“I’m leaving first. If anything comes up, call me.”
As soon as Su Peng finished putting on his shoes, the door slammed shut with a loud bang. The sudden sound made An Han jump back two steps.
This guy…
“So impatient… even closing the door is so loud.”
She quickly went to the living-room window. When she looked outside, she saw Su Peng standing not far from the apartment building, waving at her.
“Come back early! And remember to bring me tasty food!”
“Send me a message on WeChat with what you want!”
She waved back at him, then pulled the curtain shut again and muttered quietly, “Why does it feel like we’re saying goodbye forever or something?”
Task two probably wasn’t that hard. Su Peng should be able to handle it.
After all, he couldn’t be worse than her, right?
An Han only felt that since she caused this whole situation, if she didn’t help at all, she would feel guilty.
But thinking carefully… maybe she would just make things worse if she went. After all, this was still Su Peng’s family matter.
