Chapter 334: Questioning Him with Anger

At night, a light, steady rain started to fall. Su Peng dragged his tired body home, shook off the raindrops on him, and weakly opened the door.

His legs were hurting badly, and he was even more tired in his mind. The moment he walked into the room, his legs almost gave out and he nearly fell to the ground. Luckily, An Han quickly showed up and grabbed him.

“What happened? Why do you look so miserable?”

“Don’t mention it. I almost died out there. Let me sit for a moment.”

As he spoke, Su Peng directly plopped down on the floor. He gritted his teeth and pulled up his sleeve. “I fell. I think the skin is scraped.”

“Take off your shoes first. I just cleaned the floor,” An Han said.

She leaned over to check his elbow. It was only a light scrape with no blood, so she relaxed. Then she squatted in front of the shoe cabinet to look for the first-aid box they kept there.

“Should I just put a band-aid on it?”

She turned to look at Su Peng. When they separated after class in the evening, he had confidently said he could handle the food-delivery job. But now that they met again, he looked completely worn out.

His wet hair, his jacket with a hole showing the cotton inside, and his overall messy and exhausted look made her feel sorry for him.

“It suddenly started raining. The customers kept rushing me. When I was going upstairs, my foot slipped,” Su Peng said as he took off his shoes. After catching his breath, he couldn’t help complaining, “There were so many orders! And the old dorm building doesn’t even have an elevator. I kept going up and down, my legs don’t even feel like they belong to me anymore.”

“And I even sent one order to the wrong place. Damn it!”

He took off his rain-soaked jacket. An Han took it from him and hung it on the coat rack by the shoe cabinet.

“Here, the band-aid. Anywhere else you hurt?”

Su Peng stretched lazily, then looked up at her pretty face. The irritation on his face disappeared instantly. Smiling, he asked, “My legs hurt. Can you massage them for me?”

“What’s wrong with you?” An Han rolled her eyes. “Didn’t you train in martial arts since you were a kid? You even have muscles. How can a few hours of delivery make you collapse?”

She went straight to the sofa to sit down. Su Peng quickly followed her like a puppy.

“Where does it hurt?”

Su Peng simply put his legs on her lap. “Everywhere.”

An Han didn’t say anything. She pressed her lips together and started massaging his calf. Then she looked up at Su Peng, who was half lying on the other side of the sofa, smiling happily from comfort. Her face couldn’t help turning a little red.

“Hey, a little higher. Higher… yeah, there—”

Her hand slid up, but when she reached his thigh, she stopped.

This guy wasn’t hurt at all, he was teasing her!

An Han raised her hand, ready to show him what “pathetic and asking for trouble” really meant, when suddenly her phone rang.

Seeing who was calling, she instantly tensed up.

“Su Peng, it’s my dad!”

“Why is he calling again?”

“He’s probably calling to scold me… Don’t say anything.”

She answered the call. Nervous, she waited a moment, but only heard her father’s breathing on the other end.

Helpless, she had to speak first. “Dad… what’s wrong?”

“Can’t I call you for no reason?”

“Umm… no, that’s not what I meant.”

An Han’s hand was still resting on Su Peng’s leg as she leaned back on the sofa.

After a short silence, her father sighed heavily and asked, “Why won’t you listen to me…”

“I didn’t! Su Peng really isn’t living with me!”

She defended herself loudly, still trying to argue her way out of last time.

“Last time he only brought me breakfast! I’m his girlfriend, what’s wrong with bringing breakfast?!”

An Han’s voice sounded full of frustration from being misunderstood, high-pitched and sharp.

“Dad! I’m not that kind of careless girl! Aren’t you coming this weekend? If you don’t believe me, come and see for yourself!”

She made a small unhappy sound, but covered the phone’s microphone with her hand, turned to Su Peng, and quietly asked with worry, “Do you think he will believe it?”

“You might as well just tell the truth.”

Su Peng lifted his other sore leg, gritting his teeth. “Delivering food is really not a job for humans. Help me massage this side too.”

“You smell like sweat. Remember to take a shower later.”

An Han complained with dislike, then finally uncovered the microphone and continued “arguing” with her father on the phone.

She felt like her reaction was too strong, like she was trying too hard to hide something.

Sure enough, she soon heard her mother’s laughter from the other side of the call.

“An Han must already be living with Su Peng. When she was little, every time she lied and I caught her, she acted exactly like this.”

“The louder she talks, the more guilty she is.”

Unable to argue, An Han was just about to act cute to get past it.

“If I guessed right, she’s probably about to play dumb and refuse to admit anything.”

How does she predict me so accurately?!

“Su Peng might even be right next to her.”

She’s completely seen through me!

Her father wasn’t so sensitive, he was barely ever home the whole year. But her mother had watched her grow up. Even though she had changed from “son” to “daughter,” and her temper and personality changed, her habits and logic did not.

With her mother exposing everything, An Han had no words left. Her father became even angrier.

“Give the phone to Su Peng!”

“Did he forget the three rules we agreed on?!”

Three rules? What?

She tried to recall Su Peng’s promise to her father. One part seemed to be… he wasn’t allowed to touch her…

“Su Peng is probably in the dorm. Call him yourself! Why are you calling me?” she continued to insist stubbornly.

An Han could somewhat understand her father. If her little sister had a boyfriend, she would guard her tightly too, just like her father, trying to stop her from being clueless and then suddenly “taken away by a pig.”

And deep inside, there would also be a strange feeling, like a mix of jealousy and anger, similar to being “NTR-ed.”

Her father hung up, and within seconds, Su Peng’s phone rang.

Su Peng met eyes with An Han, cleared his throat, and quickly put on a flattering smile before picking up the call.

“Hello, Dad…”

“Who is your Dad?!”

The angry voice scared Su Peng so badly that he quickly moved the phone away from his ear.

He was never as tough as he was with his own parents. When facing his future father-in-law, he became timid and obedient.

An Han secretly laughed beside him, increasing the strength of her massage.

When Su Peng didn’t react, she grabbed the soft part of his thigh. Before she even squeezed, Su Peng glared at her angrily.

“Don’t mess around.”

But his lowered voice was still heard by An Han’s father.

“What did you say?! Where are you right now? Add me on WeChat and send me a video!”

Oh no!

“Wait, I don’t have WeChat. I need to download it.”

Su Peng’s face turned dark. He hurriedly sat up straight, moved his legs off An Han’s lap, and was about to put on his jacket and run straight back to school.

“My WiFi is bad here. Downloading WeChat might be slow.”

Her father didn’t respond. Su Peng slowed down a little when he noticed the silence.

He sighed helplessly and admitted, “Okay… I’m with An Han right now…”

“Uncle, I didn’t dare do anything to her. Really.”

That sentence was said with complete honesty.

Most of the time, it was An Han who teased him first, he had never taken the initiative!
